158 Chapter 158: Take control

He widened his eyes in surprise when he saw the darkness slowly fade around him. He was able to witness what was happening in his surroundings as if he was transported to another space.

His face scrunched up when he saw the ruins in the kingdom. He worriedly looked over to the king only to frown in confusion.

"Strange! Why was he looking in pain? " he mumbled

Usui followed his gaze and instantly a murderous aura emitted from him when he saw the demon walking towards Rin.

He impatiently looked at Kyron who only raised his hand. Black Thunder floated up into the air, stopped right in front of him making Usui drew his brows together.

Kyron emotionlessly said, "Coat it with your blood"

Usui nodded and proceeded to fold his sleeves back when he heard Kyron continue, "The blood flowing through your heart"

He swiftly turned towards Kyron skeptically, 'What did he say?' His hands crawled towards his chest before he gaped at Kyron and uttered, "WHAT?"

Kyron closed his eyes and sighed.

"The power to activate the sword lies in your blood but it should be through the veins that allow your blood to circulate to the heart. So, you should stab the sword through your heart and let your blood connect with the demon flame residing in it."

Usui gawked at his explanation.

'He might as well have said that he needed to die in order for the demon to take his place'

"Won't I die?" Even Usui had to do a double-take on the silly question that escaped his lips.

Kyron rolled his eyes annoyed before flicking his finger. Usui shouted when he saw the sword turn and pierce his heart.

Ba-dump!

Ba-dump!

For a moment he felt his heart stop before an agonizing scream escaped his mouth. He fell on his knees as screamed out loud making Kyron frown.

'Would he succeed?'

Kyron bit his lip thinking about the possibility of the process failing. There would be no escape from death's hands then.

Usui was banging his hands on the ground when he felt the power seep into his body. He felt like someone was burning him alive. He saw his veins protrude from his arm as if seeking release. Black lines appeared on his body making him clench his hand tight.

He snarled under his trembling body, "Just what is this?"

No one told him that taking this power would cause him this insane pain. His vision was flickering between normal and red while he could feel the demon flame raging inside his body.

Kyron knitted his brows when he saw Usui's body enlarge as if he was about to explode.

"Usui…control it"

Usui grunted making a smile crack on Kyron's face.

He growled as he clenched his hands into a fist and tried to control the raging demon flame that was excitedly roaming in his body.

'Finally…Finally'

Usui frowned before gathering his mana and surrounding the flame. He was trapping it in order to restrict it from going on a rampage. 

Slowly he inched his mana to converge with the flame, stopping it when it rampages. Sweat dripped on the ground as he slowly merged his mana with the flame making Kyron raise his eyebrows impressed.

He never thought that the young seed he picked was so talented. He was satisfied when he saw his body grow back to normal.

He wanted the prince to take his time with the process, but he saw the demon had already appeared behind Rin, intending to end the game he started.

'Ha! Maybe he recognized the little kid's ability'

Kyron was flabbergasted when he saw the little kid use his special gift effectively. If he was still alive, he would have wanted to personally see the little kid's growth.

"You need to hurry, Usui. The demon is planning to end it all for once."

Right after he said that Kyron's eyes widened in shock when he disappeared from his view and appeared instantly in front of Rin.

'What the-'

He noticed the aura around him and stiffened.

'That demon flame had more power than he thought it held'

He drew his brows together worried whether he would be able to handle it.

Rin ducked his face behind his arm reflexively as he protected himself from the attack. He could only grit his teeth and think, ' Only if he could use his power consecutively without a break. '

A gust of wind surprisingly graced his face making him knit his brows together accompanied by a shocked gasp. Rin slowly raised his eyes and saw a figure standing before him with his sword out, blocking the demon.

Rin saw the startled countenance of the demon making him curious about his savior. But for some reason, he felt the man before him was familiar.

But before he could think more about it, a sudden gust of wind blew, making their clothes flutter in the cold breeze. A grunt was heard from Sirius as he tried to hold his ground but soon his lips curled up as he snarled in anger. His knees were beginning to buckle under the pressure.

Boom!

A dent formed underneath his feet making Sirius's eyes bulge. He faltered backward with a disbelief countenance. He clutched his chest as he spat out a mouthful of blood before his eyes shifted towards the person staring down at him.

How did he-

At that moment, his eyes noticed the small eye-shaped mark on his collarbone draining the color on his face.

'How was it possible?'

His hands shook as he thought of the impossible, "Demon lord? How did he manage to get his hands on his lord's power?"

Usui lifted his face with a snort before turning around to check on Rin. The kid looked visibly shaken by his appearance making Usui purse his lip.

He didn't move to help him up instead looked towards the side, nodding at someone.

Rin was absent-minded when he saw his savior turning towards him. He didn't notice what he was doing, he was purely shocked.

Usui pressed his lips and glanced at Rin for a second before turning around, glaring at Sirius who shuddered.

He appeared right in front of Sirius and grabbed his head, "Now, let's continue our talk"

Sirius narrowed his eyes as he used his vines to thwart Usui's hand away. He flinched when he saw Usui smirk and dash towards him with a crazed look.

Rin watched the scene before him blankly until he felt warm arms wrap around him. He felt his body being pressed against something soft making him blink in surprise. He stretched out his small hands when he felt the person's body tremble.

He patted her awkwardly making his mother sob.

"Rin" Merlene sobbed, "Don't do that again, Son"

Merlene looked at her son worriedly making the latter nod stiffly. She hugged him close confirming the fact that he was safe. Rin sighed and comforted his mother as his eyes darted towards the figure exchanging blows in the air.

"Big Brother?" he whispered

Why did his brother look a little different now? Even his appearance changed drastically, making others want to take a step back on dealing with him.

The aura around him was so intense as if death was embracing him and guiding him towards the death door.

Usui was enjoying the battle against Sirius. He felt his body was much more powerful than before and he could wield the sword much easier now. The attacks were flowing with sharpness and speed that thrilled him even more.

He had a hunger expression on his face which scared Sirius. Each attack of his was reminding him of the demon lord back in the years.

Blood splashed on his face, making him grin wider. 

Why did he never know about the excitement for blood before?

He laughed crazily as he crashed against the demon in the sky. Sirius was bleeding profusely from the attacks from his sword. He could already guess what was making it successful hence he could only grit his teeth as he fought against the crazed man.

Kyron appeared near Rin as he watched the on-going battle with a frown. He whispered, "How's this possible?"

"It should have been controlled by now. How is it gaining control over him?"

Kyron knitted his brows as he appeared beside Usui instantly. He whispered frantically, "Usui, the flame is still trying to gain control over you"

Seeing that he didn't react to his words, Kyron grimaced, 'Was it too late?'

He took a deep breath before he tried to use his soul to enter the sword but suddenly Usui turned around and slashed in his direction making Kyron's eyes wide.

His eyes were glowing red and a bloodthirsty smile rested on his face making Kyron gulp.

"Oh boy!!! This is trouble"
