164 Chapter 164: Enough is enough

Usui stood there, pursing his lips, glowering at the huge face in front of him.

"You were begging for power before? Now you want to get rid of me after getting what you wanted?" the voice scoffed.

Usui narrowed his eyes and retorted, "I only wanted your power to defeat the demon general."

The face laughed derisively, "That weak one? Did you call forth me to defeat that weak demon? What a waste!"

Usui's thoughts went back to Sirius's power and grimaced internally.

'That was weak?!'

The face looked at him and ridiculed, "Such a waste of my prowess!"

Usui's thoughts were drifted towards the screams outside. His eyes widened when he saw her... finally she appeared.

Freya stood there like a queen gracing the battlefield with her presence. She stared at him in shock making him want to hug her tightly.

The face frowned when he felt his control over this human slipping by. His eyes narrowed when he saw the human taking control of his body.

'Damn it' he screeched when he finally lost control over his body.

He saw how the human completely forgot about the damn situation he was in as he strode towards the girl leisurely.

Usui couldn't believe his eyes when he heard her call him out.

'Why did her voice sound so soft?'

He jogged towards her and caressed her cheeks. Even if it has only been some days, he missed her so much. His eyes shifted towards her lips, craving to get a taste again. His heart froze when she uttered a soft, "Hi" and rubbed her soft cheeks on his palm.

For a moment, his eyes widened and his heart stopped before it thundered loudly in his chest.

'Was his ears playing on him?'

But the scene before him couldn't be a lie, right? She was really gazing at him softly. He wanted to kiss her, hug her so badly when his head throbbed.

'Damn this guy'

The face screamed inside his mind as he pulled Usui back. Usui could feel the demon's presence grow stronger and moved backward. He was startled when he saw Hazel reach out for him. He didn't know whether it was his eyes playing tricks or whether she really had worry written all over her face.

Nevertheless, he screamed, "Freya, Don't come over"

He could feel the thug in his mind... it was becoming powerful at each pull making his head throb violently. He peeked at her amidst his headache and saw the shock spreading all across her face before he blinked and appeared in that dark space.

He kicked his feet frustratedly making the dark face chuckle.

"I haven't had enough fun, boy!"

"Stop destroying everything" he yelled

The face laughed before he said impressively, "The girl is quite strong"

Usui scrunched his face in pain when he saw how the demon misled Hazel and threw her to the ground. His hands clenched tightly when he saw how careful she was with her attacks. Her attacks seem to attack his nonvital points but she was covered with wounds from head to toe.

'It was all because of me' he chided himself.

Why was he bringing her pain all the time? He gritted his teeth at how useless he was been. His eyes widened in horror when he saw the direction his sword was aiming for.

'No' he whispered before he raised his face, glaring at the face and shrieked, "NOOOO"

His shriek rattled inside the space catching the demon off guard. The action made the demon miss her heart by an inch letting a nasty expression form on its face.

Usui sagged in relief when he saw her escape death by an inch. He glared at the demon, "I am going to pay back for everything you did to her."

The demon burst into laughing before an ugly expression crossed his face, "You? Who can't escape this place?"

Usui gritted his teeth before he turned to look at Freya who was fighting against the demon. How can he give up when she is not willing to?

He dashed forth with his hands stretched out. Unexpectedly, he felt his fingers circle a hard object making him frown. Black Thunder appeared in his hand with his blade glistening in the darkness.

"Kyron" Usui mumbled as he heard a voice inside his mind whisper, "I am with you, boy"

His lips curled up, glad that the savior of this world sided him. A burst of laughter boomed inside the space.

"Looks like the old fool has acknowledged you."

Usui gripped his sword tight and pointed it at the face, "We are going to defeat you"

Saying this, he rushed forth but was stopped when he rammed against a wall. Usui rubbed his nose before glancing up in surprise.

The face had an evil grin on its face as it looked down on him and said, "Foolish creatures"

Usui frowned before he raised his hand and touched the space in front of him. His hands were met with a transparent barrier making his face darken.

Usui clenched his fingers into fists before banging against the barrier in anger. The voice laughed crazily as if it was happy to see the helpless face of his.

He inhaled before he used his shoulders to bang against the barrier. His strikes got sharper and stronger each time that the grin slowly faded from the dark face.

Its red eyes narrowed as he studied the human in front of him. It never understood why humans never gave up after knowing how fruitless their actions were?

Was it stubbornness or mere hope?

What was it that fuel their body to always act in the most hopeless situations?

Usui's shoulders hurt after the hundredth or more strike. Sweats dripped down his forehead as he looked dazedly at the face. He couldn't hear Kyron anymore but he could see her.

Her emerald eyes shone amidst the darkness as she fought for him.

He heard the face snarl in frustration when his attacks failed to stop her.

"So stubborn"

The face growled, "Enough is enough. Let's end this, shall we?"

It could see how much the mere presence of the girl was affecting the human in front of him.

Usui's face paled when he saw how Freya froze with her eyes wide open.

'Move, Freya!' he cried inside his mind but his face paled when he saw her stand there staring at him in shock.

His fingers twitched as he banged against the wall repeatedly. Seeing it do nothing, he moved back and slashed the barrier with his sword crazily.

He didn't care what he was doing... he wanted her out of the way, out of danger. He didn't care about the others but he didn't want his woman to die by his hands.

He didn't even want to imagine the scene and unknowingly his sword gleamed in the darkness as it struck the barrier repeatedly. On the first strike, a small crack formed which went unnoticed by Usui as he was busy focusing on attacking the barrier repeatedly. On the second strike, the cracks grew bigger making the face widen its eyes.

Before it could stop the human from spoiling its plans, he saw the third strike fall on the barrier, and immediately, numerous cracks formed around the spot making everyone pause.

Hearing the cracking sound clearly now, Usui raised his eyes in shock and observed the barrier before him in surprise.

The transparent wall before him now held visible cracks over it. His eyes widened ecstatically before he glanced at the face behind the barrier triumphantly.

Immediately, Usui seized his chance as he punched the cracked spot with his fist, his attacks growing stronger by the minute. Finally, when his fist passed through the barrier, he saw the sword right above her, scaring the living daylights out of him.

He reached out and punched the face as hard as he could making the face grunt.

For a moment, he seemed to have control over his body as he stopped the sword just some inches away from her. He couldn't stop the attack momentarily, with the force it was coming down on her.

"Freya...move...out...of...the...way" he gritted those words out in difficulty.

When he saw her moving away and watch him in shock, he let go of his grip over the sword and fell. Gasping for breath, he was about to raise his head when he felt a heavy force slam against him breaking off the small connection he held.

He heard the roaring voice inside the darkness, the force pressing his head to the ground, "How dare you sabotage my attack, you lowly human!"

Usui clenched his jaw as he retorted angrily, "How dare you attack my woman?"
