Xia Yangyang had never known that Gu Qichen could cook.
A man like him shouldn’t have to lift a finger.
But she had to admit that he looked really handsome when he cooked. Every movement of his was like admiring an artwork.
Gu Qichen turned around and his gaze trailed to Xia Yangyang. “Are you going to school?”
She nodded stiffly.
He replied airily, “I’ve prepared breakfast. Finish it before you go.”
At the thought of what happened last night, Xia Yangyang still felt aggrieved and upset.
She bowed her head as she sat at the table to eat.
There was a delicious spread and the chicken porridge that Gu Qichen had made was yummy.
But all Xia Yangyang wanted to do was to flee this place.
So she took huge mouthfuls and burned her tongue as a result.
By the time Gu Qichen sat down, she had already finished a bowl of porridge. She put down her spoon and muttered, “I’ve got to go now. I can’t be late for the ceremony.”
He instinctively sensed that something was amiss. With a slight frown, he asked, “Yangyang, do you remember what happened last night?”
Xia Yangyang pretended to be surprised. “What happened last night? I can’t remember anything.”
Gu Qichen’s face fell. He asked coldly, “Do you need me to send you to school?”
“No, it’s okay! It’s very near. I can just walk there.”
Xia Yangyang grabbed her bag and fled the room swiftly.
She had remembered clearly what had happened last night. But it was too embarrassing that she had no wish to recollect.
The ceremony ended shortly.
And so, Xia Yangyang had officially begun her new semester.
In the afternoon, she received a notification informing her of her broadcast club meeting at 3.00 p.m.
Xia Yangyang majored in journalism management and A University was the top university in the country known for its journalism and broadcast programs.
The broadcast club was one of the four major clubs on campus.
At the meeting, Xia Yangyang bumped into Guan Xuer.
It had almost slipped her mind that Guan Xuer was the vice president of the broadcast club.
She had relinquished the position to her by withdrawing from the election.
Xu Li, the club president, officiated the meeting. Xia Yangyang was a little distracted, but she understood that the club had intended to start a new column, ‘Influential Figures’. They were preparing for the first interview and she wanted to listen to everyone’s views.
Someone suggested interviewing the most popular figure in school, Gu Chaohan. Another voted for a hacker who majored in business, Feng Jiajie. One of them mentioned the name of a beautiful Arts student, Lu Yao, who had just debuted as an actress.
In the midst of the debate, Xu Li asked Guan Xuer, “Xuer, what is your opinion?”
Guan Xuer replied promptly, “Since it’s your wish to start off this column with a bang, the first figure that we interview has to be prominent and influential. Let’s be more daring in this case, and not restrict ourselves to people in our school. I suggest that we should invite the youngest president to ever helm Flourishing Origin Corporation, Gu Qichen.
The moment Guan Xuer stopped talking, the entire room went dead.
Who was Gu Qichen? He was someone who was beyond their reach and as unattainable as a god. It was said that he had never accepted any interviews.
Even Xu Li felt that Guan Xuer was spouting nonsense.
Xu Li said, “This is unrealistic. Even though Gu Qichen is the most influential figure in Fengcheng City and indeed fulfills all our requirements, I have heard of how forbidding and cold he is. Even the major press and media couldn’t interview him, let alone a school column like ours.”
Guan Xuer replied, “Precisely because of that, we have to give it a try. What if we succeed? If we manage to snag Gu Qichen’s exclusive interview, we will definitely emerge victorious as the top club on campus. Besides, we don’t have to recruit members. The elite students will come flocking to us.”
Another member spoke up. “It’s easy to preach. The problem is, how do we get Gu Qichen to agree to our interview?”
Guan Xuer’s eyes darted and she said, “I think we can give this mission to Xia Yangyang.”
