Chapter 639 - Make it official

Since they had come to an agreement, Yun Xuan sent the design drafts to Wan Jia. Before that, she kept  copies of each of them; Lin Ye would be glad to see the results of his hard work once he recovered his eyesight. 

"What did my boss say?" Lin Ye asked once Yun Xuan returned. She flopped onto the sofa beside him. "The usual. You shouldn't work too hard and the company won't incur any losses if you don't work at all so you should rest and take care of your health…. I shouldn't let you stress yourself out - name it. Though you should have seen the look on her face while she said those things." "How was her face?" He probed. 

"She was so happy that she almost leapt in joy. It was obvious she liked the drafts." 

This was the part Lin Ye cared most about. Although Wan Jia didn't mind if he did nothing, that didn't mean he didn't mind. He minded a lot. It would be so disheartening if after a whole week of work, the end result was appalling and she ended up not liking it. 

"So what do you plan to do next?" He asked after a while. 

"Nothing. I've already done everything I had to do." She was especially cheerful today, and she leaned in his embrace habitually. Lin Ye hugged her shoulders, warmth sweeping into his heart. This was a dream come true for him. He ran his fingers through her shoulder-length hair. It was growing back quite fast; she had cut it into a short bob not too long ago. "Xuanxuan, I need to tell you something." He started. 

Yun Xuan's attention was piqued. "What is it?" 

"Actually I…" 

At this moment, her phone rang. 

"It's Aunt Xia. I'll pick it first." 

Lin Ye frowned slightly. Why was it that every time he wanted to say something important to Yun Xuan, something else had to come up and interrupt them? Yun Xuan was quite anxious when she picked the call. Xia Rou rarely ever called her and it would be something important every time she did."Hello Aunt?" 

"Xuanxuan, are you too busy?" Xia Rou sounded anxious and Yun Xuan thought she could hear her baby crying in the background.

"I'm not busy. Did something happen to little Feng?" She tried to sound calm but her voice shakingly betrayed her and so did her heart that was thumping against her ċhėst so loud she could hear it. 

Xia Rou didn't want to make Yun Xuan worry, but she had to tell her about this. "Please come back home. Little Feng is sick." 

"Huh?" Wasn't he fine this morning? How could he suddenly be sick? All of Yun Xuan's questions translated into fear.

"Lin Ye, I have to hurry back home. My son is sick." By the time she finished speaking, she was at the door. 

It was common for kids to get sick easily because they were still delicate and perhaps it was just a flu. Although she knew this, it couldn't calm her heart. 

Her phone rang again and  she stopped running and received the call, gasping for air. "Aunty?"

"I've sent someone to pick you up. Don't run around carelessly and don't worry yourself too much- the doctor has arrived and is checking on Little Feng." 

When she heard that the doctor had arrived, she calmed down slightly. "Okay, I'll wait."

Thinking that it would waste time to run back to the villa and leave again when the chauffeur arrived, she simply waited outside.At this moment, a bodyguard was running after her and finally caught up. "Miss, master asked me to drop you off to your destination. Please wait a moment; I'll get the car." 

"You don't need to. Aunty Xia already sent someone to pick me up."

Since it was this way, he didn't push any further. Yun Xuan smiled even at such a time. How thoughtful. He had seen that she had dashed out of the house and sent someone to drop her off...

As soon as she arrived at the Lin residence, she hopped off the car immediately when it stopped and ran all the way into the nursery.

"Baby!"

The little boy had stopped crying but as soon as he saw his mother, he let out a scream all over again. His eyes were red and swollen from all the crying. Yun Xuan rushed over and picked him up, then she looked at the doctor while rubbing his back. "What happened to him?"

"It was a headache caused by fever. I gave him medicine. Let him rest more and he'll be fine."

"Okay. Thank you doc."

"Sigh. Why does he get fevers and flus so easily?" Yun Xuan remarked when the doctor left. Both she and Xia Rou had been taking good care of him. It was definitely nothing to do with being careless.

"His immunity is still low. Don't worry too much, it will be stronger as time goes."

If it was anyone else speaking, Yun Xuan would believe a word of it but since it was Xia Rou, her tensed up heart started to relax. She glanced at the little boy clutching her dress tightly like it was a lifesaver. For the first time, he threw a tantrum in Xia Rou's presence and preferred to be with her.

Once he was asleep, Xia Rou brought Yun Xuan to the living room to ask about those kind of things that nearly no young woman wanted to talk about. "Xuanxuan, how are things between you and Lin Ye?"

Most women didn't want to talk about this, but Yun Xuan actually did. She knew what Xia Rou was trying to find out. "We're quite harmonious."

"Just harmonious?" Xia Rou was obviously disappointed. She expected much more if they were going to ever settle down.

"He did say he liked me…"

"And?"

"And I was waiting to settle things on my side which I already have...and you're right. We should have made things official long ago."
