Chapter 146 - 146: To My Dearest Halora

In the middle of the night, at the small dining area, there were four young people who seated and was about to celebrate someone's birthday.

However, none of the three boys dared to speak before the celebrant took a deep sigh of weariness. She didn't either expect it to happen but there was no room of escaping from it anymore.

She smiled bitterly, looked at the delicate foods that was ordered by Markus who seated next to her as he they were the closest people on Earth.

"U– um... umm I just want to thank all of you for coming here to celebrate my birthday tonight. I... I just can't believe that we are all gathered in one place especially Markus and Sebastian."

Halora sounded guilty for everything. Somehow, she regretted that she intentionally didn't invite Sebastian because of his lies and for all the pain he caused that dayy in the library.

She wanted to confront him, but everytime she tried, her tongue would twisted up that led her to step back and turn around on her with regret.

"It's totally fine and we are all honored to be in here with you." said Markus with a wide smile on his lips.

His emerald eyes glinted everytime he looked at her round, brown eyes. It seemed like he met her long time ago but as the time goes by, he forgot everything about her.

But the truth was, it made her uncomfortable. She maybe disappointed of Sebastian but the love she felt for him will never fade away and it would lasted until death.

Sebastian closed his fists, gritted his teeth that caught Roy's attention. He stopped him from bursting into anger through his meaningful gaze and gestures.

For too many reasons, Sebastian took the fork in the right side and threw it secretly into the ground. It caused a loud, frightening noise that startled Halora and made Markus gasped at the moment.

"Markus maybe prepared all of these food and flowers, but I brought something for you too, Halora. As your best friend, of course, I will never forget to give the best for you."

Roy stood after his speech. Since Sebastian did a cute incident, a wide smile flaunted on his lips that intimated Markus.

"Here, I hope you'll treasure it to the very end."

"Thank you, Roy. You never failed to amaze you." she said. But before Roy walked back to his seat, she gave him a tight embrace that surprised Markus and Sebastian.

They said, "How dare–"

"Cut it off! She's my bestfried and you can't change that! Do you understand?"

The three of them chuckled as they soon realized what he meant to say. Roy was right, if there was one person who will stay and stick beside Halora, it would him than the two boys he just merely met.

As Markus and Roy gave their presents to Halora, it was about time to give the spotlight to Sebastian. But Halora knew that he arrived with nothing to offer her and she felt guilty of it.

"If only I told him beforehand, he would have prepared something for me and it wouldn't be embarrassing to him. Goodness! What I've done!" she thought while Sebastian stared at her for a couple of seconds.

This time around, he needed her help and to avoid any mischievous reactions, she blinked her eyes and she said, "Y– you don't have to do it anymore if you can't! I... I already appreciated your presence, Sebastian." she stuttered that confused Markus a little bit.

Little did she knew, after their trip, Sebastian asked some help from Roy. He gave the camera to him and used all the pictures as he wanted to surprise Halora.

By then, Sebastian stood as he fetched up a small paper bag he hid at Halora's house the other day. He knew, it wasn't to enter someone's house without permission but he had no choice.

That night, Halora slept and stayed in Markus's breathtaking house.

He said, "Take this as my precious gift, Halora. And by the way, I left a flowering plant outside of the door. If you want to see it, you are free to do so before we start eating."

"H– how ... how did you–" Halora was speechless when she saw a smalll box inside of the bag.

Tears shone to her eyes after she opened it, and almost of her photographs was stolen shots of Sebastian that only meant one thing.

"I... I can't b– believe you e– ever gathered all of t– these!" she exclaimed until she saw the last three photographs of her and Sebastian. "This is so cute and perfect! Oh God, I can't–"

She paused as she quickly ran into the door and there it was, a beautiful, perfect plant in a pot. "Am I seeing a real red tulips?"

"Yes, and I chose the real one and it will never fades away if you will treat it like a precious gem." Sebastian spoke from behind with a short smile on his lips.

Behind them, Markus and Roy stood silently as they watched Halora's bright face. Markus wanted to grab Halora's hand but when he took a step ahead, the next thing that happened startled and surprised all of them especially Sebastian.

"Thank you so much for making me grateful and happy tonight! I regret not telling you about this so I am here, asking for your understanding."

Halora's voice changed as she leaned her face to his chest. She hugged him tightly as she wanted to thanks Sebastian for all the goodness he showed to her.

Afterall, she both witnessed his good and bad side and there was no reason to hide things from him anymore.

She sighed, slowly let go of him as soon as she noticed Markus from distance. "L– let's talk about something once they leave afterwards."

"Alright, I'll looking forward to it." he replied.

But before she took another step away from him, he held her hands and pulled Halora closer to his chest. He sighed, winked at Roy and embraced her tightly, "Happy birthday to my dearest, Halora." he whispered that made her sobbed silently because of tears of joy.
