As pain slowly flowed into her heart, awakening the agony she felt the moment Sebastian broke his promises again. At first, she doubted it that it was only someone's prank but everytime she looked into the letter from him, she would still hope that everything was just a lie.
However, as she told him about it, Sebastian stepped back, held her cold, vulnerable shoulders and felt the unbearable pain too.
He couldn't either believed that he hurt Halora carelessly but, there was one thing that surprised him.
He said, "W– what are you talking about? T– that day?" He stuttered, reminisced the exact moment he called Roy.
"Damn it! I– it can't be happening! He can't do this to me behind my back!"
Out of the blue, he turned around, pulled his hair furiously. He couldn't imagine how it was all happened and how Roy lied to him.
"I– it's not what you think, Halora! Do you believe in me, huh? I... I told– Fuck! I didn't know that he's wearing mask in front of me as he likes you too!" He burst into anger that led him jumped into conclusion.
Behind him, Halora continued weeping as she listened to his deep, frightening voice. "W– what are you talking a– about? You told what?"
She narrowed her eyes, sobbed silently and opened her mouth widely in disbelief. How could she blamed someone for a thing that he didn't even know about?
Sebastian stood at the moment and didn't speak. He was trying to control the rage before he turned into a dangerous beast.
"P– please, just tell me that you wrote a letter and hid it inside of my bag that morning!"
"A... a l– letter? What the h– hell is going on, Halora? My grandfather was rushed into the hospital the night we arrived at the City and I have no choice but to stay beside him until the next day!"
"Y– your g– grandfather is in the hospital? Ugh! I'm... I am s– sorry for disturbing you." She felt apologetic for him. If only she heard the truth from him, she shouldn't have been angry to the man she like for ages.
Halora touched her chest as it became more heavy than what she expected. "I– if you didn't write the letter, then who would have thought about it?" she asked him.
Until she remembered that morning where she saw Sandra standing next to her seat and she was the one who told her about the letter.
"I... I promised to the Almighty that I'll try to change for you and for heaven's sake, Halora! I couldn't bear to hurt you anymore so I decided to call Roy and I told him the reason why I can't see you that day! But it turns out that he betrayed me this time for not telling you!"
Lies that was being said probably one of the painful thing in the world but no, it is the truths that was left unspoken and buried into the ground because of selfish desires and reasons.
"R– Roy didn't tell me that you called him! Now I understand everything that day...," said Halora to him and closed her eyes in despair.
It made her more cry at the sight of Sebastian in front of him. He was hurt too, dismayed of Roy whom he trusted since they agreed to be friends.
And if there was one thing she can do about it, she would have done it so, but, Halora felt something strong and powerful in her chest and entire body.
She stepped closer to him, slowly lifted her right arm and touched Sebastian's shoulder. It was just a simple gesture of solace but it brought thousands bolts of electricity.
"I... I am really sorry for doubting you, for blaming you, for ignoring you these days, Sebastian. I know I have no right to feel this way, but I would always up defeated by this strange feeling." she said in a hollow voice and expected to be rejected by him.
However, most of the time, fate of the people depend on their decisions in life. Just like Halora, she chose to be in love than running away from his life at the very beginning.
Their paths would always crossed even how hard they tried to escape it. And now that they both felt the same feeling, it was either to be a coward or to be brave enough just this once.
Expectedly, as Sebastian requested a list of romantic songs, one of those soothing songs played that surprised Halora.
Her eyes twinkled, her white teeth showed up the moment she smiled widely after she heard few lines of the song.
Sebastian gently wiped off her tears away through his warm, perfect hands. He sighed, caressed her cheeks while they listened to the song on the background.
"Open your eyes and look around, Halora. It maybe too late for this but I hope you'll like it."
He whispered to his ears that tingled Halora. She won't deny it as it felt too good and refreshing. She could even feel the warm air that came from his mouth.
And that moment, she opened her eyes, looked around with excitement in her eyes until the entire room turned bright as it was surrounded with thousands of small light bulbs.
There was a round table in the middle, two fancy chairs and on the top if it, delicate foods was being served with a bottle of wine.
It surprised her, but Sebastian walked into the table, bent low and picked something behind it that almost gave her an heart attack.
She was completely speechless, but there was no time to feel empty at all.
"S– Sebastian!"
"I know I gave you the real flower with roots earlier but this time, allow me to give you these beautiful flowers."
"R– red tulips?" she stuttered as her heart beated too fast and loud.
Sebastian nodded his head as he stooped to her, looked into her eyes while Halora couldn't control the feeling anymore.
He gave the flowers to her with a genuine smile on his lips and little did he knew, the next thing she did was incredibly sweet and real.
