Chapter 154 - 154: At The Same Boat

"For heaven's sake, why I can't even push him away from him? Why I can't confront him to stop hugging me in front of our classmates!"

While she was trapped in a tight embrace, Halora blamed herself for being soft-hearted and kind towards people. She didn't want the feeling of it, she didn't want him at all but she thought of his reputation.

She knew what it felt like so she chose to be good at him than being true to herself, especially to her boyfriend, Sebastian.

Halora bit her lower lip, tapped his shoulders as she whispered to his ears. "I... I can't breathe a–anymore!" she complained but he continued with his selfish desires.

Fortunately, a loud voice on the radio sounded off around the classroom as the school staff announced that there will be an urgent meeting.

All classes in grade levels were suspended and they were advised to stay on the campus to enjoy different activities prepared by each teachers.

Markus hurriedly let go of her and smiled widely. He thought it was the perfect time to show what he got to her as they have no classes the entire day.

He stepped back and he said, "It's recess time, would you mind if I'll ask you to the cafeteria to join me?"

Halora was taken aback by his question. She knew she can't so she shook her head in disagreement.

She replied, "I... I'm sorry but my best friend asked me first to join him! B– but, I will make it up to you next time. Alright?"

But Markus pouted his lips, looked around for a vacant seat that brought guilt to Halora. She then grabbed her hair silently, took a deep, heavy breath and just stared at his cold, emerald eyes.

Halora was about to withdraw her decision when Roy arrived, wearing the varisity jacket. He narrowed his eyes, walked into Halora's seat as Markus walked away from her and seared to the last row by himself.

"Hey, beautiful young lady! Why are you frowning, huh? Did Sandra bullied you again, huh? Just tell me–"

Halora cut him off as she quickly grabbed his collar and whispered to his ears about what happened. She told him every detail of it that turned him into a monster.

He said, "Fuck! H– how did you remained that calm while he's harrasing you, for pete's sake! Where is your head, Halora? You should have called me or even Sebastian!"

"Shh, minimize your voice! Everyone can hear you!" she told him but Roy seemed to be angry because of Markus.

He gave up the love he felt for her as he swerved the blessing to Sebastian, but now that Markus wanted to court his bestfriend, he will make sure that he will suffer until he withdraw his evil plans.

Too many questions roamed around his head. It was difficult for him to understand every word she said as he held her wrist and pulled her out of the classroom.

Roy ignored his malicious cousin as he carried her things and brought Halora to the quietest spot on the campus with a heavy weight on his chest.

He couldn't believe that Halora wanted to be courted of one of the richest student in the campus and he thought, she used a spell to attract people around her.

As soon as they reached the school's garden, Roy looked intently into her brown eyes without uttering a single word. He closed his eyes, listened to his heartbeat for a couple of minutes.

"W– what should I do? I... I can't tell him to stop because he perfectly pretended that I agreed earlier, for heaven's sake! Why me of all people in this school!"

"We have to tell Sebastian about this. If you are afraid, don't worry, I will accompany you to the gymnasium right now!"

It was the best way to avoid misunderstandings between them. Despite the what-ifs that stopped her, Halora looked at him eagerly.

She nodded and she replied, "Let's go! I... I don't want to hide things from my b–" she paused when she remembered Sebastian's voice. "I mean, I don't want to be a bad friend and tutor to him."

But through her eyes, through the portal to her inner core, Roy noticed that there was a different spark on it. He knew it was special as it could ever be and there's no way of hiding it any longer.

Instead of forcing her to confess, he put his arm around his shoulder as her bestfriend but she giggled and hit his chest jokingly.

They looked good and happy that brought jealousy to Markus and Sandra who followed them silently.

Sandra scoffed, as her usual cold facial expression flaunted on her face the moment he flipped her hair. Little did she knew, Markus noticed her from the spot where he stayed until Halora went away with Roy.

He cleared his throat, caressed his chin like he was a mysterious, arrogant bad boy.

He said, "What brought you here, Young Lady? As far as I know, you are Sandra Lee, the famous gorgeous high school girl with no brain."

He covered his mouth, punished himself for being mean to her and chuckled as if there was anything that seemed to be funny about.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that! But you know, I think we're both at the same boat. Am I right?"

"Eww! Mind your own business, self-proclaimed man! I will never be jealous of her and for your information, Roy is my cousin if you don't mind asking me first!" At the very first moment that their paths crossed, it began with an argument.

Yet, it made him happier and the negativity that surrounded him earlier instantly vanished.

"And why are you laughing? Am I that funny to you?" she raised her eyebrows, flipped her hair once again.

He turned sideways, laughed hard as his facial feature flaunted perfectly. The color of his eyes, the thick brows, pointed, perfect nose and his thin, crimson lips that captured her heart like what she felt the moment she met Sebastian years ago.

"No! No! Wake up, Sandra or you will lose the game!" she thought but it was too late for her to turn her back as her heart suddenly attached because of his killer, jaw-dropping smile.
