Chapter 173 - 173: The Ring Keeper Versus The Queen Of Witches

Three hours left before the nightfall, all armed cops gathered outside of the campus. Aside from the first patrol that responded earlier, a new forces arrived at the scene.

But instead of holding a gun loaded with a full magazine, they brought things that was considered to be one of the witches' weaknesses.

All of the things that beguiled the evil forces was kept inside of the police car. They prepared everything, dispatched all men as Halora prayed for a better result.

Near the main entrance, the commander-in-chief was given a signal that they finished their job. Through a simple gesture, they understood each other and it was the right time for Halora to show herself.

"Are you ready?" he asked her.

"Yes, I am ready."

He gasped, tapped Halora's shoulder like a father who cared for his daughter. Before she walked inside, he gave her a blessing that strike straight into her heart.

He smiled genuinely, "You can do it, Halora. Whatever happens, we are here behind you." he reminded her that made her smile and breathed heavily.

Halora glanced up at Markus who looked at nowhere. She felt the fear he had felt but he didn't try to stop her from saving the world.

She sighed, looked at him with guilt. "Sebastian had followed us and he have been standing from a distance behind us. Please, tell him that I'm sorry for breaking my promises but I'll be safe." she told her in despair.

Right this moment, she needed courage, without anyone help– without Sebastian beside her.

Her last words made him realized one thing– even how genuine he liked the person, it's not always be a happy ending.

Even in the hardest part of her life, she still cared for Sebastian. And if something bad happen to her, there will be no regret in her heart as she cherished every moment with him.

"I will." he replied shortly and watched Halora walked into the main entrance surrounded by the armed cops.

A burden on his chest became too heavy as he couldn't accept the truth that he fell in love with her at the wrong time.

He sighed, chuckled effortlessly and he whispered, "She really like that asshole!"

Markus nodded his head slightly, slid his hands on his pocket and walked to spot where the campus bad boy stood with Roy and Zenith.

On the other side, as Halora stayed still at the main entrance. The commander-in-chief pretended that he didn't speak yet to her.

He let Halora walked into the opened hallway, closer to the wide field filled with students who suffered too much on their hands.

With all the strength, she took a deep, heavy breath, closed her eyes and tried to defeat the vulnerable side of her. She witnessed how the witches laughed mischievously to the students they manipulated.

"It's time to get their attention, Halora." A deep, clear voice sounded.

Right then on, she swallowed greedily until...,

"STOP! IF YOU NEED SOMETHING FROM ME, THEN TAKE ME INSTEAD!" Her loud, certain voice echoed around that piqued everyone's vigilance.

Damara who took a seventh grade young girl quickly turned her head to where the voice came from. Her dark eyes widened when she saw a young girl standing from a distance.

She released the poor girl, flew with a broomstick closer to Halora.

"I AM HALORA, THE GIRL YOU ARE LOOKING FOR! RELEASE ALL OF THEM, BEFORE I GIVE THIS RING TO THE QUEEN!"

Damara smiled widely when she closely seen Halora. Her face resembled to the late real queen of witches, Herathasia.

Suddenly, she stopped right in front of her, held the broomstick and she said, "Like mother, like daughter."

Halora wanted to dig deeper about her parents but it was not the perfect time to know everything. She gulped, didn't show even a pinch of fear or she will ended up distracted.

For a second, no one dared to speak. Damara examined the ring on Halora's finger, the stone that was embroidered on it, the size and the color of it.

While Halora waited for a moment to give a signal to the head officer. She looked straight to Damara's eyes, and her dreams suddenly flashed back.

"Even in my dreams you are looking for this ring. I've been wondering why, but now that we've seen face to face, I am no longer interested to know the truth. But if you insist, you can narrate everything and before you end the story, the ring will be thrown away."

"Hahahaha! I never thought that you will grow up with a wise and smart mind." Damara laughed loudly, "Alright, I will release all of them. Your wish is my command but make it sure that you surrender the ring to me, Young Lady!"

From a funny manner, Damara's facial expression changed so quick. Her cold stare could paralyze someone, her index finger could turn Halora to a small insect.

But because she was the ring real keeper, she needed to get the ring as soon as possible before it search for Halora– the keeper.

Damara smiled bitterly, looked at the witches who didn't notice Halora. She trudged the broomstick she was holding, "Idiot witches! Can't you see, Halora is right here! And she's about to give the ring to me if only you release them, idiots!"

Damara's adherents quickly released all students who almost had a heart attack. They were still in shocked and as quick as they could, all the cops rescued them and brought everyone to the safest place wherein medical teams waited for how many hours.

Halora looked at the creepy faces of the women in front of her. She knew they looked like a critter that frightened of children in their dreams.

Secretly, she mumbled something while Damara looked at her way. "I let them go according to our agreement, and now, come closer to me and give the ring."

But Halora shook her head in disagreement. She gulped countless times, closed her fists that controlled her body, "I came here because you are looking for me, and I told you to release all of the victims. Right now, who need to initiate between the two of us?"

Halora stunned all of them especially Damara.. She has no choice but to possess it before nightfall or it would take another decade to attack the human kind.
