Chapter 184 - 184: An Arrogant Intruder

"Are you willing to give up the friendship you have with him, aren't you?" Mrs. Lee repeated the question.

"P– pardon?"

Mrs. Lee had a hard time to convince Halora. She knew it was a selfish favor but she couldn't either accept that her daughter suffered too because of the man that she couldn't have and even hold tight.

As a mother, she wanted the best for her children. And the only thing that will make Sandra happy was to be loved by her ultimate crush, Sebastian Woo.

She let go of Halora's hands, gasped for cold air that calmed down her mind and soul. "I.... I am asking you to help out my daughter. I... I know this sounds too cruel but I am begging you, Halora... to just convince your friend to at least give Sandra a chance!"

For a couple of minutes, Halora was left speechless. How could she react to a thing that she can't understand? How could she give up the man she loves to a girl with selfish mindset?

Halora temporarily lost her sanity and tongue. She didn't said anything about the principal's favor instead, she was calm and full of kindness.

Her brown eyes glinted while she looked intently into Mrs. Lee's reddish eyes. She gave her a sweet smile, touched her lap and opened her mouth.

"Sebastian and I are good friends, and if you're asking me to help your daughter, I am willing to do my part, however...," she stopped, glanced up at the white ceiling for a second. "I... I can't force Sebastian to feel the same way as what Sandra feels for him."

Her choice of words seemed like words of wisdom that went straight into the principal's heart. She couldn't move her feet nor mumble a word.

In front of her, a young, empowered girl looked at her pale face without a doubt. Halora filled with anger and pain but she dealt it in a wise way.

"I maybe not in the right position to say this but– asking me a selfish favor won't change the fact that Sebastian likes someone else."

"Someone else? And who would it be then?"

Mrs. Lee looked at her but as quick as the flash of lightning, Halora turned her head to the left and gasped. She must keep her mouth shut before everyone in the campus heard about their intimate relationship.

She tried not to act suspiciously but her body reacted because of the deep stares that was thrown out to her by Mrs. Lee.

She sighed, tried to meet her gaze but Halora was too elusive. "Who would be that special girl who captured his heart? I know you already met her since you are Sebastian's tutor, am I right?"

"Yes, I am his tutor but aside from academic matters, I haven't tried to go beyond my limitations because I know, it is his personal life and not part of my business anymore."

"You're quite honest, Halora. But, I don't understand why you looked too serious and nervous! You are here to help my daughter and not to be the intelligent student of my own school." She reminded Halora once again.

Mrs. Lee stood up from her seat. She took a small, brown envelope from one of the drawers.

She said, "Here, take a look at this." She put it on the table wearing a sweet yet fatal smile.

Curiously, Halora reached for the envelope and opened it. There was a small paper inside, a thick, new bundle of money and a black flash drive.

She quickly looked at her confusingly while her heart beat too fast. It was deafening and as she unfolded the paper, tears effortlessly fell into her cheeks.

Halora shook her head in disbelief. She was still crying, read the letter with her naked eyes and suddenly remembered her parents' last words.

"I hired a private investigator, and for some reasons, he found that small envelope that you parents kept on the post office. It's been a long time but I know you deserves to know about it." said Mrs. Lee.

"H–have you checked the content of this flash drive?" Halora asked in a calm tone.

Contrary to the truth, Mrs. Lee was behind it. She hired a woman who has the same penmanship as Halora's mother and told her to write a heartfelt letter to Halora.

Not just a letter, she also put a bundle of money and a flash drive that contained confidential information about Halora's late parents.

Through her wealth and connection, she manipulated things that wasn't supposed to do. And now that she almost convince Halora, she was willing to repay her kindness by any means.

Mrs. Lee gave Halora a sweet, genuine smile. "Of course, I haven't! I know that is not my business anymore that's why I kept it and now you're here, you are free to accept everything from your parents."

"And now, I hope you'll help me out in return, Halora. You know I can do anything for you in return and one more thing, don't tell anyone about it even your close friends or even my daughter and Sebastian. Do you understand?"

As the spacious room became narrower for the both of them. Halora wiped off all of her tears, holding the letter angrily.

She was right. Her speculations was right that people usually wore masks in front of the crowd. And not that Mrs. Lee's true colors showed up, it's time to play the game with wit and sarcastically.

"I... I do understand, but whatever the result of our plan, never put the blame on me because I just want to live a simple, peaceful life."

With all of her strength, Halora reminded such an honorable woman in the entire campus. With all due respect, she did what was right and before she could lose control, she inserted back the letter to the envelope and stood up.

She bowed her head, "It's been a pleasure to have a deep conversation with you, Mrs. Principal."

"It's my pleasure too, and I am counting on you, Halora–"

"Halora?"

"GET OUT OF THE F*CKING ROOM BEFORE I BREAK THIS DOOR! HALORA!"

Suddenly, a loud, disturbing voice echoed outside of the room. They both knew who has the courage to break the door effortlessly.

Mrs. Lee quickly pushed Halora to the door and she said, "She's here and if you can't wait for a moment, then I think I will summon your mo –"

"Sorry not sorry, but I have to talk to Halora. Please, pardon my arrogance, Mrs. Lee." spoke Sebastian after he banged the door in front of them.

He quickly grabbed Halora's arm and pulled her out of the principal's cold office.
