Chapter 266 - 266: Born To Be A Great Warrior

Kairos, Markus, Jasmine, Zenith, Roy, and volunteers appeared out of nowhere. The entire school surrounded with a bright light that came from Markus' car.

From the ground, Markus looked up above at the ruined window. He sighed, rubbed the back of his nape mischievously.

He said, "We arrived on the right time, am I right, Damara?"

It was a temporary victory for them, but everyone knew she won't accept it and surrender easily.

Behind him, Kairos looked at her mysterious face until a memory of his brother flashed back into his mind.

The exact moment before he died, Eric summoned him calmly despite the serious, deep wound on his right chest.

Blood dribbled from his mouth as he suffered too much. Instead of telling him to avenge, Halora's father asked his brother to look after his daughter.

And if she needed his help, he must show up and protect her like Halora was his won daughter. After all, he was once Herathesia's lover before she met Eric.

He closed his fists, staring at the evil witch who killed hundreds of witches and wizards a long time ago.

"It's been a while, Damara. It's my honor to catch a glimpse of a powerful creature like you once again." Kairos said softly.

There was no trace of violence on his voice but if someone would pay attention to his fists, they would probably get an answer.

From afar, Damara listened to the sound of her chest while her ears rang audibly like an alarm clock. Once again, she saw herself on a corner where anyone has companion.

Memories from the past kept on flashing back to someone who was about to die. And Damara found herself being stuck on the past.

For how many years, she chose to dwell to the things from years ago. Even she successfully assassinated the Queen, her beloved husband and her allies never changed a single thing.

But rather, the weight inside became too heavy and tough to endure any longer. Her life became too miserable than what she foreseen.

She almost faced death when a group of werewolves attacked her along the way to the far mountain, but an unknow creature has saved her life.

Until now, Damara never meet the one who saved her life from the brink of death and that was one of the reasons why she must stay alive until the end.

She weakly bowed her head in front all of them. Damara took a deepest breath and slowly lifted her head with confidence.

Her charisma strangely changed and turned creepy as she used to be. Her eyes turned darker and mysterious as ever.

Until a vicious smile plastered on her face that stunned everyone most especially Kairos and Halora. "Kairos, I thought I've killed you on that cold night," she paused.

Walking closely to Halora, Markus narrowed his eyes and bent his knees to save her.

"Don't move, beast! You won't be able to transform if I'll cut your legs with these sharp blades." said Damara and licked the tip of such powerful weapon like a sweet popsicle.

"Even you use your strengths, you can't hurt Halora because she possessed the powerful and manipulative ring! If she uses it, you can no longer succeed, Damara!"

Kairos talked back to her that awakened the monster beneath a deep ground. It was no ordinary as it could ruin the entire city if she wanted to.

Damara was caught off guard when she saw Kairos. He knew everything, including her weaknesses and he must get rid of before her biggest downfall in the history.

During the moment of truth, a mischievous smile fluttered everyone on the other side. Her true form surprised Jasmine who never thought how difficult would the situation.

But her wound healed too fast as it didn't cause a serious trouble at all. That urged Jasmine to fight against the enemy.

She said, "What should we do? She's showing her true form!"

Jasmine was right. Before them was a witch who transformed into a very strange creature with eight deadly tentacles and red eyes.

Roy quickly took Halora from the dangerous spot while Damara took a couple of minutes to show her strongest side.

"Everyone, move aside!"

A loud, deep voice echoed around that brought them back to reality. Markus grabbed Jasmine and hurriedly made a move before they got hurt.

By then, the empty classroom has finally ruined when the enemy was cornered. She has no other option but fight violently and mercilessly.

And once again, like what she did to the late queen of all witches and wizards, Damara opened her eyes and searched for Halora right away.

"Halora, run quickly!"

"HALORA!"

"Protect Halora and never let that monster hurt her!" Kairos ordered.

However, it was too late for them to evacuate Halora. She was caught off guard when one of Damara's tentacles hit her knees.

An annoying laughter sounded around that shocked everyone. Halora narrowed her eyes when she realized that she was being attacked countless times.

Eagerness drawn on her face while a powerful tentacle moved too fast closer to her way. It was beyond her expectation and she has no idea left anymore.

"Is this death? Seeing all of my memory all out of a sudden?" Halora murmured.

But from a distance, her friends encouraged her to stand and escape from being captured. But she didn't hear their voices except the sound of her heart.

Her eyes filled with a warm fluid, watching her friends. She knew it was the end for her as she hopelessly closed her eyes and accepted her faith.

From the very start, people would underestimate her for being poor and orphan. She had tasted the sweetness and bitterness of being alive because all of them.

And for a few moments of her existence, she had learned that being weak won't guarantee someone's destiny.

If the world filled with evil creatures, then there would always be someone who was born to save the world through her bare hands.

"You are born to be a great warrior, Halora. Open your eyes and use your ability to win.." A sweet, calm voice whispered into her ears that brought her a little hope.
