Chapter 271 - Suspicious People Lurking

Episode 264- Suspicious people lurking

She read over everything and then closed her entrance sheets and moved to her history test.

The test she was given was multiple questions again; however this time the questions were questions about Xenperia's history and the world's state of affairs. The question asked who the former King of Xenperia is, who the current King of Xenperia is, who is in the Royal family, how many Royal families exist in the United West Liasel etc.

After the first sheet, as the teacher said, she was given a comprehension test. She was given a text and had to answer it the way she comprehended the text and what she thought of what she read. Again, it wasn't too bad so Eugene just wrote down whatever she thought and then completed the test.

Once she was done she glanced over to Camille who was sitting beside her and basically rushing through her sheets as if she didn't bother reading the questions. Comparing Camille to everyone else, Camille was as fast as the wind and had already completed 3 sheets worth of questions.

Eugene shook her head before standing up. She heard shuffling behind her and the sound of two people standing up after about ten steps in. Eugene raised a brow but she didn't turn back and continued walking forward. She handed both of her exam sheets to the teacher and left to go to her dorm. Earlier before the test began, the teacher had informed them that the results day would be tomorrow and to head to the assembly hall again.

Eugene wasn't about to wait for Camille because she didn't know how long Camille would take, and she didn't want to wait for the others as well which is why she just left.

"Wait, student!" A teacher called out. Eugene turned around immediately and her eyes met the two students who had followed after her. Eugene moved her eyes and looked beyond them to the teacher who was following them.

"You forgot to write your name." He said to the person who was in front of Eugene. Eugene blinked before turning around and leaving.

Just as Eugene reached her dorm room, she was reminded of Aernest's words, 'Apparently, there is someone taller than sister in the first years.' Eugene unlocked her door and headed in.

The person who was beside the guy who forgot to write his name would be the person who was the tallest in class. He was most likely 10 cm taller than her, that was the rough estimate she could make as they did not stand too close to each other.

Eugene shook her head and headed to the bathroom area to wash her hands. After that, she changed her clothes, walked to the couch in the living room, and crashed on it. Her stomach rumbled loudly as she stared at the ceiling.

'Ha…' She sighed. It was obvious from the sound that she was hungry. If she changed back, she could head to the canteen for food; however, was she bothered when she was already comfortable? No. But could she wait for Camille? No.

So what options are left? Eugene stood up and walked to the kitchen area. She stared at the pot for a long time before heading straight to it. Her hands reached for the pot before it made a sudden curve and headed to the bundle of bananas.

'This will do.' Eugene picked the bundle of bananas back and headed back to her room. She ate a good 7 bananas before she fell back in bed and drifted off to dreamland. Her dreamland lasted a long time, too long of a time and before she knew it, it was already dark.

Naturally, Eugene was flabbergasted. She did not mean to sleep for this long at all! She did not mean to sleep and skip dinner, the most important subject of the day!

'Ha…' Eugene shook her head in resignation. What could she possibly do? It's not like she could reverse time. Eugene sat still for a moment before standing up. She walked to her door and headed out.

Just as she was about to head out of their dorm, her nose sniffed something which made her snap her head immediately. Eugene stared at the dining table with widened eyes and before she realized it, she was already sitting in front of the food.

'No… wash hands first.' She almost forgot her manners, and she reluctantly left to wash her hands before flying back and gobbling her dinner. She had thought that Camille would forget about her but she didn't! She ate happily, put the food away in the kitchen before heading out of her dorm.

As Eugene reached the entrance of her dorm, she squatted down to stretch her body. She shook her hands and stood up. Her feet moved forward, taking her out with familiarity. Where was she going? To do her daily runs!

She had not been running in the morning as she didn't want to encounter anyone during her run, hence why she decided to run daily at midnight instead when there was nobody at all. Because she had not been training like she normally did, she made it her goal to run a minimum of 20km a day. This was to keep her body fit as well as not succumb to the good food she ate every day.

After her run, Eugene was just about to walk back to her dorm-like nothing ever occurred when she heard footsteps shuffling around 20 meters away from her. Eugene paused immediately in her steps and crouched down. Though there were no particular rules which made you unable to leave your dorm at night, leaving this late into the night was still something suspicious. Not to mention, she didn't want to waste time being questioned for it.

Eugene walked quietly to the bush while trying to keep her ears and eyes on the lookout when suddenly she saw someone in robes appearing out of the blue.

"Everything is ready," said one man in a deep voice. Eugene immediately furrowed her eyebrows as her instincts told her that something was definitely wrong and up.

"The plan will go through as per usual. There will be no delay."

"Good."

The two people left their own separate ways. One headed in the direction of the dorm, while the other headed off to who knows where. Eugene waited for a good 30 minutes before leaving her hiding space. She didn't know what the two men were talking about but there was something in her that felt particularly negative about it. Not to mention, their voices sounded scary. Of course, it may also be nothing.

Eugene pursed her lips before sighing. There was nothing she could do right now, hence she decided to head back to her dorm and forget about whatever she just heard. Of course, she kept on the lookout for many days after that. She waited for the two people to appear again, however, there was nothing at all so she just went on about her days as per usual, and put this incident at the back of her head.

Results day…

Everyone sat at the assembly hall for the 3rd time now. Though the school has officially begun, they have yet to learn anything as all they did in these three years was the welcoming ceremony, the exam day, and today, the results day which will place you in different classes.

It was only today that Eugene realized that the people who had sat next to her were the two boys who had finished their exams after her. Because of the familiar aura, she guessed that they have been sitting beside her since day 1. She only noticed today because of yesterday. Otherwise, even if they had sat beside her for a year, she most likely wouldn't have noticed at all.

"The results are out." One of the teachers said, before dragging what seems to be a board. Well, they dragged it because it was made of wood and looked to be incredibly heavy. On the large board, there was a big paper, followed by the division of classes and the names under it.

Everyone stared at it innocently when suddenly everyone froze and furrowed their eyebrows. That was because there was something especially eye-catching. According to what the teacher told them yesterday, there were supposed to be 4 classes. However today, there was an addition of one class with three names on it.

The assembly hall was immediately silent because of the three names. Because there were only three names under this class, the names were especially big and eye-catching.

Eugeneia Veria.

Mark Ruclus.

Ethan Docs.

The three names were under Class S, which no teacher informed them of such a class. However, no one raised any commotion about it either simply because they were still in shock.  There was a premonition in everyone's heart and everyone knew what Class S might stand for. Class special, a class before Class A, Class S.
