"Hey, where are my clothes? I am feeling so freaking uncomfortable in this girly stuff!"
Frowning his face making a perplexed expression, Czar scraped his neck sounding much vexed. Wearing her pair of pink fluffy slippers, he walked out of the room heading towards the breakfast table where Clara was waiting for him by serving the breakfast on the table.
She was casually sitting on the chair, looking at him and smiling on her own. With the messy bed hair, puffy fresh cheeks, pouty face, and shy eloquence along with the bright yellow shirt-pajamas, he looked much more adorable in her eyes rather than the typical bold alluring appearance that he puts before the world.
"Master, but you seem much cute to me in these clothes," she conversed.
"Hey, don't tease me anymore--"
"I am not, master." Before he could wrap up his words, she interrupted in a firm voice straightening her back on the chair. "Why must you put up such a bold appearance before the world when you are soft from the inside?"
Hearing such a strong statement from her, he was surprised momentarily and continued looking at her intensely. He frowned his eyebrows and murmured in a stiff note, "what do you mean by that?"
"Let's keep such discussions for later. Here, have breakfast first, master. I have baked cheesy macaroni pasta along with jasmine tea for you. It tastes delicious especially if you are sober." Tapping her hand on the table, she gently invited him to sit opposite her holding a warm smile on her face.
He stole a small glance at the creamy pasta and indeed, it seemed much luscious served with delicacy. Obediently, he took the seat opposite to him and chomped a bite of the creamy pasta, nodding his head in bliss.
"Do you like it, master?" Leaning her head towards him, her eyes were gleaming in impertinence while she asked him tilting her brows.
"Yes... N-No one ever bothered to cook for me once all these years...but...you are doing it for me without any hesitation. Th-That makes me happy," he was lowering his gaze down sounding much considerate with a small glum smirk on his face.
Clara quietly looked at him for a few seconds and tossing a sad smile she averted her eyes down too. "I feel happy that I can erase a bit of the lonely dark clouds surrounding you all over, Mr. Czar." She wondered inside silently.
"Well, how did I end up here yesterday? How did you find me? As far I remember, I was drinking outside a store...and...after that..." His voice trailed off as he was sulking his face trying to reminisce about what happened last night.
"Do you... really not remember what happened to you last night?" She reciprocated back.
"No...did I really blabber something weird? Damn...I shouldn't have been boozing too much last night!" He was scratching his hair, seeming much puzzled judged by his facial expression.
Taking a deep sigh out, she continued staring at him looking a bit perplexed. "That means, he hasn't even realized yet that he has feelings for Eva... Does he really doesn't remember what he conversed to me last night?" She kept wondering fidgeting her thumb over the table.
"Did I really do something so weird that you can't even tell me now?" Raising his chin up, he uttered in an eager gesture, leaning his head towards her.
Looking at him going all impatient for her answer she realized that he indeed doesn't remember single stuff about last night. She took a heavy sigh out and articulated her answer in a polite voice.
"Master..."
"Ye-Yes?"
"We all have our own stories in life. Though we look absolutely fine on the outside but deep down inside, we all live with a nail lodged in our hearts. That's how life is...merciless as ever to everyone." She tossed a deep sad smile at him, looking straight into his shimmering brown eyes murmuring in a sonorous pitch.
Staring straight into her big, deep eyes, his heart unknowingly throbbed a bit as if these are the exact emotions he wanted to scream out before the world but had to bore inside his heart all these years, acting indifferent. Gulping his saliva, he gawked at her forgetting to breathe for a few seconds.
"So...you don't have to feel lonely all by yourself, master. We all live with painful memories but that's what keeps us going forward. It's fine to be weak sometimes...
Though life may not go the way we always want it to be. But as long as we have people beside us, who can understand our pain, wounded hearts can heal... But you must always stick to your heart while making the honest decisions by yourself," sounding like a fresh breeze of mild spring she stood up from the seat and took a huff of breath out.
"Master, I didn't want to lecture or nag you...I just wanted to console you so that...you can do, what your heart wants. That's all. Hope you will enjoy your breakfast, I have to head to work today." Gently she walked towards her room leaving him behind sitting on the table, with a blank gaze in his sincere eyes. He was clenching the fork in his arm and frowning his face intensely as if something was running wild in his mind.
"I don't know why did she tell me all this stuff but...she is right. I must stick to what my heart wants over anything...
And my heart wants her to live... I won't let someone naive as her die again without any guilt right before my own eyes..." He stood up from the seat, with his deep brown eyes transforming into illuminant blue as he glared outside the window, looking all ardent.
.........
CREAK!
After putting her purse inside a small metallic closet at the entrance of the giant stock house, Thomas unlocked the large wooden door opening the two wooden divisions inwards. Anxiously gripping a small key of the closet, Eva quietly followed him inside and swirled her eyes in suspicion.
The place seemed extremely worn down, with dust and dirt covering inside the whole place as if the place hadn't been used for several years! The wooden floor was thickly stained with lumps of grit without any footsteps imprinted on it. Gulping her saliva, she quickly shifted her gaze towards him while asking with a frown face, "mister, haven't you used this stock house for a while? Why is it so worn down and dirty? It seems as if...no one bothers to come here at all!"
"Ahh, I am sorry, Miss Ricci." The man scraped his neck making an embarrassed face while glancing around the mansion, "I have to manage these whole-farm single-handedly for a few years. We have a few more stock houses to manage and that's why I couldn't maintain this one. But don't fret, our precious coffee beans are safely preserved inside. You can follow me upstairs." He pointed his finger towards the stairs leading to the first floor and abruptly started walking ahead of her.
Standing with a displeased face, she squirmed anxiously for a moment and looked behind at the way they walked inside. All of a sudden, her eyeballs rolled wider in fear and for a moment it seemed as her heart throbbed harder.
The floor on the way through which they walked inside had only the footsteps of a single person marked over it! Judging from the size, they were definitely her footsteps! That means Mr. Thomas's footprints were missing on the floor as if he had been walking in the air all this time!
"Miss Ricci, are you coming in?"
Suddenly, at his loud proclamation, she revived her senses back while she was still standing in the corridor absorbed in uncertainty. Raising her chin up and looking at him, she noticed that he had a wide smile on his face while his deep black eyeballs were shimmering with an unknown excitement! Trying to swallow her anxiety and calming down her palpitations, she took a deep breath inside and walked a few steps forward after him.
...
Soon both of them stopped near a room on the first floor and Thomas quickly unlocked the doorknob opening it wider. He directed his arm towards inside and looked at her with a small grin on his face, "Miss Ricci, you can wait here for a few minutes while I will unlock our storage room. I will soon summon you to select those coffee beans for your cafe." He asserted.
Eva, clenching the closet key tighter in her grip obediently walked inside the room looking all anxious. She could sense it evidently something dubious was indeed going around there but didn't have any choice left except to obey him so that she could leave the strange place as soon as possible. Her heart was throbbing in fear but on the outside, she was acting all quiet.
"It's just a matter of a few moments... Hang in there Eva, you will be getting out of here soon." She soothed herself while walking inside the room nervously as the door shut-in.
