"I know... As I grew up...I had my realization that...I was intentionally abandoned...by my pack...especially by my own family. I was just left with a sack of food and a pitch of water along with some spare clothes and my name written on a small piece of paper in a completely unfamiliar place. When I woke up, I saw myself in a young girl's figure and couldn't remember a single thing about myself. I guess those who abandoned me didn't expect of my survival in this nasty world." Her voice crooked a little as she took a deep sip of the beer, huffing out intensely.
For a moment, there persisted a fervent silence between them. Czar slowly turned away his gaze towards the front and continued ogling at the flowing silver stream. "It must have hurt her so bad..." He thought inside being lost in deep worries.
"You know Czar... not knowing anything about your existence is a kind of scary thing. I don't know...what did I do to deserve such a gruesome abandonment. At first, it used to bother me so much...but while I accustomed myself to this new life...I understood that... I didn't do anything wrong, it was my own world who turned their back against me." She enunciated in a rustling voice, slowly caressing a tiny grass flower that bloomed next beside her.
"What would you do if someday...your family comes back for you?" Frowning his eyebrows impertinently, he asked her.
"I will smack and beat the shit out of those bastards!!" Gritting his jowls in immense anger, she twitched her frows looking at him with an irked expression. "They left me with approx survival stuff that lasted barely for a few days hoping that I would die out of starvation. They did such horrible things to me and if they have the guts to come back after what they did...I am gonna kill them!!" She clenched her fist, grunting hard.
"You are not alone in this boat. I am gonna kick their asses too if they approach you after what they have done. Because...I am sure...you are happy with your new life and new family." A small smirk appeared on his face as he whispered those words tenderly.
For a moment Clara widened her eyeballs and peered at him with a small pleasant simper on her face. She lowered her gaze down, tenderly nodded her head, and responded back, "you are right. I am not alone anymore... In this new life, I have my own family who cares for me... and...I also have you."
Apprehending her fond voice, a soft smirk escaped his roseate lips as he continued staring at her for a few seconds.
"The same goes for you too...You weren't wrong. You were boorish and harsh towards your brother but the ugly world and the terrible pain of losing your beloved one at such a young age made you do so. But deep inside, you have a precious heart that led you to do such a sacrifice of your cherished one. Instead, I must say you are...very brave, Czar." She tapped his shoulder again reverberating her brave words to soothe him.
"She reminds me of my mom..." A sad smile widened on his jowls as he gazed up at the blue clear sky with an emptiness in his eyes while he continued. "She is warm...naive and easily trusts people...just like her. I...I have to live this remorseful life with the guilt of being incapable of protecting my mom. I couldn't even find her dead body to hug her for the last time. But... I want to do everything that's possible for her sake this time. I don't wanna leave any regrets, Clara. I want her to be happiest in this life even if the happiness no longer includes me. Even if we are animals, we can never hurt the ones we love- that's what you had told me on our first meet."
Patting his arm with her frail fingertips she was peering at his vulnerable grimace. "Your mother must be proud of you today as...she indeed gave birth to a precious son. Not only she...but...even I and your brother must be proud of you too." She rustled sipping down the last amount of drink remaining in the can. Her cheeks and ears were becoming flustered red that indicated she was getting tipsy.
"Being with you soothes me too. I like it when you accomplice me, Clara. I want to stay with you like this for a long time...so...don't ever catch any feelings for me." Chugging down the remaining beer in a spree he mumbled out surprisingly aloud in a sonorous voice.
Hearing his abrupt declaration, all of a sudden her heart throbbed with a tinge of sharp pain. Clinching the can, she fretted her jowls before asking, "what...if I do?"
"Huh?"
"What... if I really fall for you?" Her voice was a bit shaky and ardent while she was gawking at him.
For a while, scowling his brows Czar continued glancing at her serious face looking a bit perplexed. Her objection had already troubled his mind that was evident from his eloquence. He didn't utter a single word in response.
The calm atmosphere that was persisting between them suddenly turned into an intense situation with a throbbing silence. Both of them continued staring at each other's faces and Clara understood it evidently, the circumstances were growing heavier.
"Hahaha! I got you!!" Suddenly, she burst out into a squeal of laughter tapping her arm on the ground leaving him completely surprised. She resumed grinning aloud for a few seconds and paused a bit later, "Woah! Just look at your shocked face! I...I was just joking...haha! Don't fret..." She was trying hard to put out the fake laughter to dissolve the intense arising situation.
"Ohh! Ohh gosh! You really scared me for a moment!" Exhaling a deep sigh of relief he brushed his brownish hair up with his fingertips from his forehead, tossing a small smile. "Though...I fell for Eva without even realizing myself...but...I am not prepared for any commitments. I have...my separate goal of vengeance in life and...don't wanna raise someone's hopes higher for me. And, to be honest, we gotta part our ways according to our deal if that happens... It won't make me happy." His soft echo whirled in the area along with the mild summer breeze beside the silver stream.
"I...understand..." She sighed out with a small sad smile.
"So let's keep our relationship the way it is till you want to keep your identity hidden from Eva. Let's stay the way we are now. Okay?" His smile widened on his sharp jawline as he whispered his wish.
Nodding her head, Clara continued peering at his grimace with a sad gaze in her eyes and a throbbing impulsive heart. Clinching the soft grass with her trembling fingers she wondered on her own, "do I already have fallen for you? Then...am I going to lose you forever?"
..........
The sky was moderately blue and clear with soft cottony white clouds patched up at a few places above the never-ending blue Mediterranean Sea. The weather was pretty pleasant and comforting. That west side area of the magnificent Ostia beach was completely desolated without a trace of any other person.
At a measurable distance from the beach, there stood a tall, sumptuous and magnanimous La Marinella Deluxe Resort elegantly decorated with several flowering shrubs from outside in front of which their car halted its motion.
As soon as both Eva and Zeus walked out of the car, her eyes were shimmering in gleam noticing such a beautiful view of the blue sea. Unknowingly, a small smile appeared on his face watching Eva getting blissful expressions.
"Woah!! This place is so beautiful, Zeus! Look at the sea...it's so blue...But...why this beach is so empty?" Glancing all around curiously, she mumbled out.
"This resort belongs to me. However, I have booked this entire place for us, Eva." Gently gripping his wide arm around her shoulder, he reciprocated back. "I don't want any disturbances till we are here. Did you like the place?"
"Wow! My boyfriend is indeed a crazy rich guy! I love it here!" softly poking his abdomen with her elbow she tossed a sly smile. The air was indeed very fresh and soothing which uplifted their delighted mood gracefully.
"Master Zeus?"
Suddenly, both of them were interrupted with a kind voice behind them. An old, kind-looking lady in her late 50's was standing behind them near the entrance wearing a maid outfit. As both of them looked back, she bowed respectfully before Zeus.
"Eva, meet her, she is Lady Olie...the best caretaker of this resort. She has been here for a really long time." He replied glancing softly at her.
"Master, I see... You have finally found your loved one. I feel so relieved to witness this sight. Also, Milady is indeed very beautiful, perfectly suited for you." The lady smiled at both of them, peering especially at Eva.
"Hello, ma'am. Nice to meet you too." Fondly Eva greeted her with a blissful smile on her face looking quite happy at her compliment.
"I have prepared your rooms already. Please come inside, our butler will guide you." She stepped aside and both of them casually walked inside holding each other's arms tight. As soon as they headed in, Lady Olie was about to follow them from behind.
But all of a sudden, someone grasped her shoulder tightly from behind with a soft arm that flinched her quite badly as she turned back.
Just behind her, dressed up in a complete black gown, Meghan was glaring at her holding a vile smile on her pale face.
"Wh...Who are you?" She gulped anxiously, trying to free her shoulder from her clasp.
"I am sorry Lady Olie... But...I need to borrow your body for my mission." She whispered.
"What?"
"May your soul rest in peace..."A cruel wide smile spread on her face with her canines emerging out. Her eyes completely turned into the black demonic form as she took a step closer to her.
