Pei Qian and his best friend were sitting inside a luxurious suite. With a glass of wine on one hand, he casually placed his free hand at the back of the sofa.

With the first two buttons of his dress shirt unbuttoned, he looked even sexier than usual.

Shen Che clinked his glasses with Pei Qian and took a small sip of his drink. Observing Pei Qian's facial expression, he teasingly asked, "Is Gu Xi the reason you hurried home that night?"

"It's none of your business!" Pei Qian wore a lazy expression on his face, seemingly unwilling to carry on the conversation.

Shen Che scoffed, "Oh, really? But Gu Xi is the daughter of the Gu Family which means she's the Gu Group's future predecessor. Without me saying, you should know that the Gu Family and the Qin Family used to be the most powerful families in City H… Pei Qian, now that you have stolen Gu Xi away from the Qin Family, this fact alone is serious enough to concern all the corporations in City H!"

Pei Qian narrowed his black eyes and looked at Shen Che.

Finally getting Pei Qian's attention, Shen Che, who was ignored for the whole night, finally felt a little appreciated. A meaningful smile appeared on his devilishly charming face. "If you are not… interested in her, I can be your substitute!"

Pei Qian immediately felt a little threatened and Shen Che only smiled more charming than ever.

Pei Qian wanted to rebut Shen Che, but someone politely knocked on their door. The manager walked in and said in a troubled tone of voice, "Mr. Pei, someone called Miss Tang asked for your presence!"

Miss Tang? Hearing her name, Pei Qian furrowed his eyebrows.

Shen Che, on the other hand, looked at him as if he was prepared to witness a good show.

Pei Qian naturally did not want to embarrass himself in front of Shen Che and replied in an indifferent tone of voice, "Tell her that I am not around!"

"You are so heartless!" After the manager had left, Shen Che gave a light chuckle as he looked at Pei Qian.

Pei Qian did not reply to him. After all, some things still have to be kept a secret. This applied to his best friend as well.

Shen Che naturally understood him and both of them stayed for another hour before leaving.

When Pei Qian walked out, his assistant Song Yazhan immediately caught up to him.

He walked into the car park and was about to open his car door when a gentle voice rang from behind him. "Mr. Pei!"

Pei Qian's hand that was placed on the car door froze. He then turned around to face Song Yazhan and he told him, "Get in the car first!"

Song Yazhan nodded his head and sat on the driver seat, leaving Pei Qian standing outside.

"What's wrong?" said Pei Qian with indifference to the person who suddenly appeared.

Tang Xinru wore a worried expression on her face and it took her quite a while before she mustered up her courage and asked, "Gu Xi fired me!"

Pei Qian maintained a stoic expression while he looked at her in silence. "And so?"

"Considering that I have lost my job, shouldn't you at least compensate me?" Tang Xinru licked her lips. "Give me ten million yuan… and I promise that I won't ever appear near Gu Xi ever again!"

Pei Qian suddenly walked closer to her and that made Tang Xinru step backward until her back touched the pole behind her.

He stood so close to her that she could feel his breath…

Tang Xinru was scared of him. From the first time she saw him, her instincts told her that she must stay away from him…

Pei Qian casually caressed her hair, but he let go of it after realizing that she was trembling in fear. His eyes looked deep into her lost ones. "Why? You don't want to be with Qin Mo anymore?"

Tang Xinru pursed her lips. "His heart only belongs… to Gu Xi!"

He froze momentarily before giving her a slight smile. "Do you really think that it's so easy to get money from me?"

After that, he stepped away from her.

Soon after, four men dressed in black suits appeared behind him. Pei Qian's smile looked as faint as that of Feng Jiyue's. "If you are not willing, I always have ways to persuade you into it!"

Tang Xinru tightly pursed her lips and her face turned pale. She was so frightened that she could not say a single word.

"That's great!" Pei Qian coldly smiled. "I hope that you already know your place now, and please don't find me according to your will again!"

She did not dare say a word and was left with her mouth agape!

Pei Qian turned around to enter his car, and they heartlessly drove past her…

Pei Qian sat in the car and Song Yazhan asked in a gentle tone of voice, "Are we going back to the villa?"
