Chapter 11：She Betrayed Herself

Gu Xi pursed her lips and stared into his eyes. She scoffed. "Who gave you the right to do so?"

He stared at her for a long time before finally letting her go. He did not force her to agree with him, and with an indifferent tone of voice, he said, "Of course, I won't make things difficult for you. Miss Gu, you can leave this place now!"

Gu Xi gritted her teeth. Since she came all the way here, leaving just like that was not an option.

She was about eighty percent sure that Pei Qian was the mastermind behind the dropping of the stock prices, and for that reason, she must not leave.

Pei Qian sat on his seat behind his working desk, and with the light shining on him, he looked even more mysterious than ever.

The blinding light masked his expression and hence, Gu Xi was not able to see his expression clearly, much less guess what he was thinking.

Her body slightly trembled, but she quickly regained her composure. She tidied her clothes and stared deep into his eyes. "Mr. Pei, let's discuss serious matters."

"Take a look at this first before deciding on how we should go around discussing those serious matters." Pei Qian took out a document from his drawer and threw it on the table.

He then casually tried to lit a cigarette which he, unfortunately, failed to light up. Regardless of that, he continued playing with the golden lighter in his hands.

Gu Xi momentarily froze before walking over. She took the document with hesitation, but her expression turned sour after flipping two pages of it.

It was a legal share transfer agreement that seemed drafted not too long ago.

The various signatures on the share transfer agreement took her by surprise…

"Isn't it shocking?" Pei Qian slightly turned his head to face her and lit his cigarette once more.

Looking from this angle, he really looked very handsome.

A thought suddenly struck her—he was probably the most handsome man she had ever seen in her whole life.

Then again, there was probably no other man more despicable than him as well.

She was so ready to kill him after seeing this share transfer agreement.

Pei Qian took a drag of his cigarette while his face remained void of expression. "If I am not wrong, Old Master Gu owns thirty percent of the Gu Group's shares while you own ten percent of it."

Understanding the meaning of his words, Gu Xi broke into a cold sweat.

Flicking the burnt ash of his cigarette with his slender fingers, Pei Qian looked up to see her expression. He then wore a small smirk on his face…

This wild little cat was finally starting to be obedient…

"Gu Xi, if I accidentally managed to get over forty percent of the Gu Group's shares… would that increase your willingness to listen to me?" After seeing her face, he gave a light chuckle of victory. The anger and urge to bite her to death he felt just earlier on suddenly disappeared into thin air.

Gu Xi stood rooted to the ground, for she was very aware that he had the capabilities to make it a reality.

She also believed that it would not take him too long to get the shares he wanted.

Fear bubbled inside of her as she grew increasingly scared of the man in front of her.

Pei Qian curled his lips up. "But if you listen to me, this could—"

He took the document on the table and casually said, "This could all be yours!"

She would be lying if she claimed that his actions did not surprise her. After all, buying over twenty percent of the Gu Group's shares would require tens of billions…

She clenched her fists, but his offer did not tempt her…

She felt as if her fate was in his hands. If she did not do as he said, the Gu Group would potentially be destroyed in her hands and grandpa's lifelong hard work would be gone.

Gu Xi tightly pursed her lips and her fingernails dug so deep in her palm that it almost pierced through her skin.

She was stuck in a dilemma…

He did not seem to urge her for an immediate answer, for he only sat there in silence and looked at her. He was waiting for her to come to a decision.

After a long time, Gu Xi stood upright and said in a cold and clear voice, "Mr. Pei, I am afraid I cannot agree to your request."

She took a deep breath and walked out of the door. Just as her hand was about to touch the door handle, Pei Qian's voice softly drifted into her ear. "Miss Gu, you only have one chance. If you walk out of this door, I cannot be sure of what would happen to these twenty percent of shares! Do you think the Gu Group can handle such a big blow?"

Gu Xi side-eyed him. "Suit yourself!"

"Really? How about I transfer them to Pin Guan?" Pei Qian played with the lighter in his hands and scoffed. "I believe he would be very willing to take them! Just think about the kind of role he could play if he becomes a major shareholder of the Gu Group! Think about it, Miss Gu!"

Gu Xi suddenly turned around and glared at his devilishly handsome face. "Has anybody told you before that you are a very despicable man?"

"Many people have said it before." Pei Qian gave her a smile. "But you are the first person to say it in my face!"

Gu Xi slowly walked over to him and stopped in front of his desk.

Pei Qian did not move, only looking at her condescendingly.

His gaze slowly traveled from her face downwards, and Gu Xi could carefully sense his hot gaze stopping at a certain body part longer than he should be.

She tightly pursed her lips and ordered herself not to shift her gaze away from his eyes.

It was as if he was checking her out from head to toe, like a policeman doing his patrol.

"It seems that we have reached an agreement." He finally shifted his gaze back to her face. In an indifferent tone of voice, he exclaimed, "Let's talk about the terms and conditions now!"

Without waiting for her reply, he pointed to a line on the document. He said, "I want you to be at my beck and call for an entire month!"

Gu Xi controlled her anger. "One month, is it?"

"I will sign it, but I have my conditions too!" She continued in a gentle tone of voice, "You are not allowed to touch me in public!"

Upon hearing it, he searched her eyes. "Why? Are you afraid that Qin Mo would find out about us?"

She felt a sharp pain in her chest. In a cold tone of voice, she snarled, "If you can't do it…"

"I can!" He unexpectedly agreed to it. He then took out another document. "I have already drafted the agreement. If you are fine with it, please sign it."

Gu Xi really wanted to screw his whole family. When she took the document from him, she felt as if her heart was quivering…

The lighting was great and the document was just right in front of her, but why did her vision seem so blurry when her gaze landed on the document?

Pei Qian's gaze landed on her face and for that split second, a sinister look appeared on his face.

Qin Mo was probably the reason for her sadness.

He placed a pen in front of her which Gu Xi stared at for a long time…

"Are you regretting your decision?" His voice had a teasing tone. "Miss Gu, you don't have to sign it! I won't make things difficult for you!"

He didn't like to make things difficult for people? Gu Xi scoffed in her heart. What a big contradiction between his actions and his words!

She lowered her head because her tears had blurred her eyes. Her fingers trembled and a helpless glint flashed past her eyes.

A hand grabbed her fair ones, and she raised her head to look into his eyes… She suddenly felt a little stumped by his actions.

He guided her hand and quickly signed her name on the paper.

Looking at her signature, her mind turned blank and she even felt a little confused as to how she even signed the papers.

She let go of the pen and it dropped onto the paper, creating a small black dot on it.

Before Gu Xi even came back to her senses, Pei Qian had already kept the document and gave one of the two agreement sheets he had to her.

Gu Xi felt very conflicted… If it wasn't because she had no other choice, she probably wouldn't be humiliated so badly by a man.

She reached out to take the cup of tea on his desk and splashed it onto his face…
