Chapter 14：I Won't Touch a Sick Person

Gu Xi felt uncomfortable as though she was burning in a fire. She hugged her stomach and her forehead broke out in a thin sweat.

She did not want to disturb him because she thought she already suffered enough embarrassment.

Pei Qian immediately hugged her and touched her forehead. It was cold…

"Are you sick?" His voice was slightly stern.

Gu Xi's hand pressed against her stomach and she gritted her teeth. "My stomach is in pain!"

She was in so much pain that her words were slurred, but Pei Qian could still comprehend what she uttered.

He hugged her with one hand while his other hand dialed the office line. "Yazhan, tell Doctor Lin to come here!"

Gu Xi fell into his embrace and closed her eyes while her face turned pale.

Pei Qian placed her flat on the bed and carefully covered her with the blanket.

She suddenly opened her eyes. "Sorry to spoil your fun."

His face turned green. She really knew how to anger him!

After waiting for around twenty minutes, Doctor Lin arrived.

This was Gu Xi's first time meeting Doctor Lin, but it was not Doctor Lin's first time.

She was a female doctor in her forties and a vice-director of some private hospital. Needless to think, she could easily guess that he was also an investor of that hospital.

"What's wrong?" Doctor Lin warmly asked.

Pei Qian moved away. "She said her stomach hurt."

Doctor Lin smiled. "Girls like to lose weight, so more often than not they do not take good care of their body!"

She was an outstanding medical doctor!

She raised her hand and pried the blankets open before pressing on Gu Xi's abdomen. She warmly glanced at Gu Xi and smiled. "Did you skip your dinner yesterday?"

Gu Xi's beautiful lips were pursed together as she remained silent.

Doctor Lin looked at Pei Qian and said, "Next time, take note of her diet. It may not look like an urgent problem now, but in the long run, it will definitely be detrimental to her health."

Pei Qian's gaze landed on Gu Xi's face, and it was actually a little hot!

Gu Xi lowered her eyes and heard his calm voice. "I understand."

She thought that she heard it wrongly. However, she was unwilling to look at him…

His eyes looked too eager and even if she did not look, she could feel his hot gaze!

Doctor Lin said in a kind tone, "It shouldn't be anything serious, so I will just prescribe some medicine and you can just instruct someone to prepare a light meal for her later."

Gu Xi instinctively said, "There's no need for that trouble."

Doctor Lin laughed.

Pei Qian spoke up. "I will send you downstairs."

Before Doctor Lin left, she had nagged at Gu Xi. "Little girl, don't take your body lightly."

With a pale face, Gu Xi nodded her head. She could not bear to give a cold attitude towards such a female doctor.

On the first floor, Doctor Lin prescribed some medicine and Pei Qian instructed Song Yazhan to buy the medicine. He then personally sent Doctor Lin to the entrance.

Doctor Lin looked at Pei Qian and paused for a moment. She then said, "You… didn't do anything to her, right?"

She was a bit confident as she asked that question. Pei Qian's face was slightly flushed as he tactfully answered, "I know my limits!"

Doctor Lin immediately hit his head. "Limits?! You brought the little girl back home during her engagement banquet and even made me, your aunt, do those sort of check-ups for you…"

She calmed herself down, and she said, "Pei Qian, you have to know when to stop, do you understand? Miss Gu doesn't seem to be a casual woman! Even if you are doing this to spite Qin Mo and… that person, you can't hurt the innocent!"

Pei Qian placed his hands into his pockets and after a while, dryly spoke, "I have not touched her yet."

Doctor Lin caught his point. "If that is so, then you are not allowed to touch her in the future, too!"

Pei Qian finally seemed a little frustrated and remained silent before turning around and walking back to the mansion.

Doctor Lin shook her head as she got in the car. "This child! He made me come over in the wee hours of the night without an explanation!"

She pondered for a moment, after which she shook her head and smiled…

Moments later, Song Yazhan drove the car back and carried with him a bag of medicine.

"A-Xiang, pour a cup of water," he casually exclaimed and was prepared to let the maid feed Gu Xi her medicine.

However, Pei Qian took the glass of water and proceeded upstairs with the medicine.

"Wow, what is happening? You cherish her so much!" Song Yazhan laughed to himself.

A-Xiang hesitantly asked, "Mr. Song, should I bring the porridge that the young master asked for upstairs?"

Song Yazhan pondered for a moment. "Bring it up. Come down after you notify him."

A-Xiang heaved a sigh of relief and immediately went up the stairs.

Pei Qian returned upstairs and saw Gu Xi in discomfort.

He bit his thin lips and walked towards her.

Gu Xi saw the medicine in his hands and wanted to get up, but his arm had already enveloped around her shoulders. She could only lean into his embrace.

Since his bathrobe was slightly loose, her cheeks unintentionally pressed against his bare and strong chest. Frightened by it, she wanted to escape from his grasp, but couldn't do so because he raised his hands and pressed it on her head to make her lay back down again…

'My head hurts!' Her tears were almost spilling out!

"Drink water and eat your medicine!" He kept his words short.

Two white medicine tablets were on his beautiful palm while his other hand gripped a cup of water.

She raised her hand to take the medicine, but he already fed it to her lips.

She hesitated for a moment before gently eating her medicine.

At the same time, her lips touched his warm finger.

A gush of heat rushed to a certain part of his body and Pei Qian quietly suppressed it. "Drink water!"

She obediently drank it.

Her face was a little red, probably because he was hugging her. She could even smell a manly scent on him…

After she had eaten her medicine, she wanted to move away… when suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Pei Qian pinned her shoulders down and did not allow her to move before. In a deep voice, he said, "Enter!"

A-Xiang carried a tray of food and entered. On the tray were a bowl of porridge and a few side-dishes.

She placed it on the table. "Young master, please call for me when you are done."

Pei Qian beckoned for her to leave. After A-Xiang left, he moved his gaze to Gu Xi's face. "Get up and eat."

With that, he let go of her and sat on the sofa.

Gu Xi's stomach was still in discomfort, but it felt a little better.

Knowing that she would not receive any benefits from defying him, she walked towards him.

She moved her body and felt a little uncomfortable when she got down the bed, but she still slowly made her way to the sofa. As she sat there, he sat opposite her and stared at her in silence.

Gu Xi glanced at the man… It was already late in the night, yet he had no sign of fatigue at all.

He still looked as bright and energized as before!

She tolerated her discomfort and ate half a bowl of porridge until she could no longer eat. In a soft voice, she announced, "I can't eat anymore!"

Pei Qian moved his gaze away from his documents and silently stared at the bowl in front of her before standing up.

She thought he would instruct the maids to clear the food, but unexpectedly, he cleared the food himself!

When he got back, she was still sitting on the sofa.

Pei Qian lay on one side of the bed before coldly beckoning her over. "Come over here to sleep!"

With a pale expression, Gu Xi turned her body to look at him.

"Relax, I won't go so far as to touch a sick person!" His tone had a hint of mockery.

Gu Xi pursed his lips and walked towards that luxurious yet sinister bed.
