41 Conflicting Minds

By the time Arnav had finished taking the call, Sofya was nowhere to be found. After searching for a few minutes, he saw her at the counter, making the payment.

She had changed back into her dress and as he neared her, he could see that the back of her neck was still a little red. Smiling, he walked forward.

" Use my card " and a black card was placed on the counter.

" No need, I can purchase on my own. " Sofya answered, her cheeks still flushed from their earlier encounter. She fished in her bag and took out the card. As she was about to put it on the counter, a hand grabbed her's and pulled her a little closer.

So close, she was almost able to see the freckles on his nose.

The manager, who was behind the counter secretly envied Sofya at the moment. How she wish she could have been in her place today! But alas, fate was so cruel.

" Mr. Raizada's order. Won't you even listen to him? " he asked huskily, his eyes boring into hers.

Sofya blinked and looked away. It was like glaring into the sun. Breaking her arm out of his grip, she stepped back and nodded.

The car ride back home was a silent one, with both Sofya and Arnav absorbed in their own thoughts.

Sofya was in a dilemma. As much as she wanted to tell Arnav that it was Nina who had orchestrated the attack and now planned to threaten her, she held herself. Arnav and Nina had been childhood friends.Though his reaction now at the bridal boutique was something entirely else, but maybe it was just spur of the moment. She wasn't sure how he would react, much less if he would be willing to help her. Finally she decided on not telling him anything. If and when the time comes, she would definitely ask for his help.

Arnav on the other hand, was thinking about Nina's appearance. He knew she was lying when she had talked about her upcoming nupitals. Then what exactly was her real purpose for coming there? Maybe there was part of the conversation that he might have missed? After all, she wasn't the one to let anything go easily that she has put her mind to, especially his marriage. He had known for certain time that she had wanted to marry him. Of course, he would have rejected her. But her asking Sofya to ditch him, there must have been some catch or some sort of blackmailing. He was sure Sofya wouldn't tell him, even if he asked to. She liked to handle things herself. But she had no idea what a crazy and compulsive creature Nina was.

Then there was only one way, he would have to find out himself.

" Here we are. " Charles finally broke the silence, as the car pulled up in front of gates of Emerald Villa.

Sofya looked up in shock. She hadn't realized time they had arrived at her house so quickly. Gathering her belongings, she got out of the car.

However, before leaving, she turned around to look at Arnav who was already watching her.

With a faint smile on her lips, she whispered " Good night. "
