Chapter 124 - Please Save Us

“Great, now we can pitch our tent.” Luo Qianqian finally could breathe in the clean space that Murong Yun had created, she rolled up her sleeves and walked to Su Liancheng who was carrying the bag.

Su Liancheng produced two tents from his bag and together they started to work on it.

Luo Qianqian waved at Murong Yun who just finished creating the clean space, “Come on over, so we can all hide in the tents as soon as possible.”

Su Liancheng frowned upon the suggestion though, no one had ever ordered Murong Yun before.

To Su Liancheng’s surprise, Murong Yun took to his heels and started to help out. ‘Tut tut tut, it turns out my Brother Eighth is some loving husband material!’

“Master, I will go sprinkle powders along our space.” Feng Qing didn’t just sit back and watch the rest of the team going ahead at full steam. Feng Qing sprinkled realgar powder that would drive away snakes and poisonous insects.

After that, Feng Qing started to make fire, it wasn’t hard to make a fire in the forest, firewood was easy to access.

Luo Qianqian handed out the solid food she had bought from the shops to the boys, that was their dinner. Luo Qianqian took a look at them and showed a smile, they were all people who feasted every day on the most delectable dishes, but none of them made any complaint about the coarse food or the adverse circumstances. Luo Qianqian couldn’t help but give them a thumbs up in the heart, she appreciated that in a man.

The temperature dropped drastically at night, Luo Qianqian shuddered and the next second Murong Yun took off his coat and wrapped it around Luo Qianqian’s tiny body.

Luo Qianqian grinned, she signaled Murong Yun to sit next to her and she rested her head on Murong Yun’s shoulder.

Luo Qianqian withdrew two cushions from the bags and put them on the grass, the bag she had prepared for them was no ordinary bags, they were expandable, that was why they could prepare so much stuff for this trip. She waved at Su Liancheng and Feng Qing to come sit with them, so they could discuss their trip while getting warmed up by the fire.

“I know I’ve read out the nature about Serpent Flower, but I do have to stress that they only blossom after being irritated by poisonous serpent’s blood and it takes fifty years for them to blossom. So, don’t get too excited if we just find the stem, it’s the flower that we are looking for.”

“Sister-in-law, you mean not only we need to find the blossom instead of the stem, but also the blossom has to be irritated by the poisonous serpent’s blood! Amida Buddha, they are not going to make this easy for us, are they!” Su Liancheng said with frustration. Su Liancheng shuddered thinking about what awaited them, serpents, poisonous serpents, hissing and attacking them.

“I know, we need to be mentally prepared for this trip, this is just the beginning. But I have faith in us, if there’s anyone who can make it happen, then it’s us!” Luo Qianqian tried to comfort Su Liancheng.

“Qianqian, thank you so much for everything you are doing for me.” Murong Yun stared at Luo Qianqian, his eyes exuding tenderness and love.

“Do you have any idea how many times have you saved my life? Don’t be silly now, let’s talk more about all the possible situations in case anything throws us off guard, shall we?”

The boys nodded in unison, they all respected Luo Qianqian even more that night.

They talked heatedly about all the possible ways to fight the serpent and finally they’ve come up with a plan that everyone of them felt good about, with that they finally called it a night and went to sleep.

“Murong Yun, we are going to fight the serpent tomorrow, are you scared?” Luo Qianqian realized how silly her question was the second she asked.

“I’m not, are you?” Murong Yun replied with concern.

“To be honest, I’m not, I know you will be there for me.” Luo Qianqian trusted this man wholeheartedly.

“That’s right! We are in this together, actually we are in everything together, we have each other.” with that Murong Yun cuddled Luo Qianqian even tighter.

“Good night, Murong Yun.” Luo Qianqian smiled.

Later that night.

“Run! Don’t turn back!”

“Fire! There’s fire here, let’s run towards the fire!”

“But what if the people who has started the fire is still around!”

“We need to survive first!”

Loud noises sounded even louder at night.

Luo Qianqian opened her eyes in alarm, ‘What’s this all about?’

Murong Yun stroked her hair and walked out of the tent, “I will have a look, just wait for me in the tent.”

Luo Qianqian lifted the curtain and what met her eyes was a group of seven people, six men and one young woman.

They were running towards the fire while the men surrounded the woman in the middle, trying to protect her.

One man kept yelling, “Stay in the center,Yu, just stay in the center!”

It looked like the woman was named Yu.

Luo Qianqian took another of the group, she found all of the them were injured but Yu, and this time she saw what was running after them, about ten wolves!

No wonder they were running towards their bonfire, wolves were afraid of fire.

All of a sudden, a man slowed down due to the knee injury and the next second all the wolves swooped on him and the man cried for help hysterically, “Help me, my leg! My leg!”

But soon enough his voice disappeared, the wolves had eaten him alive.

Luo Qianqian averted her gaze from such a bloody scene.

The other men and Yu arrived at the fire, they begged Luo Qianqian, Su Liancheng and Feng Qing who was standing by the fire, “Please save us, please have mercy!”

No response.

Yu chimed in, “Young masters, please have mercy, the wolf pack is coming, let’s defeat them together please!”

Su Liancheng sneered, “I was going to help you guys out, but I just changed my mind, I’m not going to help people who deliberately lead wolf pack to our tent! You just want us to distract the wolves so you guys can escape!”
