Chapter 9：What Happened to Her afterward?

"Once I am older, I will get you out of here. I promise."

"Lets play! I have something you will enjoy playing it."

"I lost for the second time. You are really good at it. Did you know how to play this game before?!"

I kept hearing those words inside my head. Is this a dream that I am having now? No wait. I think I have heard those words before, but when? Is this my past? And who is the one who was talking to me now?

I blinked and opened my eyes slowly. I saw a ceiling above me. I moved my head slightly to the right and saw a bandage covering the area around my shoulder and my neck. Not only this area that was covered, but also I did felt, once I moved slowly, that something was weird. "WHAT?! I am exposed just now?!" this was what I thought the moment I saw that the bandage was covering my chest.

I flinched suddenly "Yes. I remembered that someone shot me!"

I sat dawn impulsively and adjusted my position. I looked down to see that the shirt that I am wearing is loose; even the bandage that was covering my chest can be seen. I moved my hand to cover it as soon as possible "Ahhh ... It is really painful!" I cried once I moved and touched the injured area.

The tears suddenly came out and I could not stop them. I could not see properly where exactly I am, so I tried to wipe the tears with my hand but they are still keep coming. "I am useless. I can't stop the tears."

I looked around me to see if someone is here. I really needed someone to help me, or at least to call for a doctor to check on me. I do not care if they knew about my true identity because I am already exposed the moment they carry me here.

"Huh?! There is nobody here?!" I looked around me "Where I am?"

I was struggling when I tried to stand up and go out.. Once I reached halfway, I suddenly wobbled and fell down.

"UHHH." I cried and grabbed my shoulder really hard until it bled. I was in pain. I felt dizzy. The place was suffocating me and I wanted to go out. I crawled into the ground to reach the door. Finally, I raised my hand to reach the door handle. I struggled to reach it, so I tried to stand up but I failed. At the end, I remained there sorely waiting for someone to open the door for me; unfortunately, no one came. There was no strength left for me. My body felt hot and weak and my wound bled again. I was suffering at that moment and struggling to remain conscious. Suddenly, I heard faint voices coming out from the door. I relieved once I knew that someone is here. I opened my mouth to scream but I couldn't. My throat hurts me. I suddenly closed my eyes and I soon became unconscious.

"Mmmm."

"Are you awake?"

I opened my eyes and saw who was talking.

He said "Finally, you are awake. I panicked when I saw you lying on the ground. You were having a high fever. Not only that, but also your wound reopened. So I treated you again."

I was tired and dizzy. I could not see his face properly, but I could hear him at least. I think I'd heard this voice somewhere.

"A .... Ar ... Are you ... the doctor?" I asked him.

"Ohh .. Yes. I am." He answered.

"You are ... that ... doctor .... who treated .... Edward .... am I .... right?"

"Who is Edward?"

"My ... tutor .... when his .... shoulder .... was broken ..... a few weeks ago."

"I don't remember. I am sorry." He continued "please relax until your head maid comes."

"Did ... Father .... kn ... know that you .... knew about my identity?" I asked him with a faint voice.

"Please do not talk. You will exhaust yourself."

"Please ... answer." I insisted.

"Y ... Yes. He knew. I mean of course he will know since I was the person who treats you." He looked at me and continued to say "He was personally here while I was treating you. After I finished, he left in a rush."

"What ... happened .... after I fainted?" I asked him.

"Your father ...." He stopped when he heard someone knocking at the door.

"I think it is the head maid." He said.

He stood up and went toward the door to open it. He saw the head maid and said while she was standing at the door "Please come in."

She entered the room and then he went outside and closed the door.

She looked at me and said "How do you feel?"

"Where I am?" I asked.

She paused for a moment and then said "You are in a room that your father provided for you. No one is coming in except your father, the doctor, and me."

I looked at her. Her vision is still blurry, so I could not see her features properly. I figured from what she said is that Edward cannot enter this room, which means that Father still didn't know that Edward knew about me. I felt relieved and then said to her "What about the doctor then?"

"He is in the same condition as me." She paused for a moment to grab a towel and then cleaned my face. She said thoughtlessly "We are exceptions; however, we are still being threaten."

I asked "What do you mean?!"

"Ohh .. it is nothing." She avoid answering my question. "Please Iet me change your clothes now."

She removed my loosen shirt carefully. She grabbed a towel after she sank it into the water and then she cleaned my body without touching the wound. After that, she helped me to wear the new cloth that she provided for me.

"Please rest. I will be here. Don't worry." she said.
