Chapter 17:Seeking Answers

Anyways, I was still looking at the documents carefully and signed them. In general, I noticed that most of the documents are all about agreements and contracts between other countries. From what I understood from the contents, it is like a mutual benefits between our kingdom and other countries. But I still do not understand how the contracts or the agreements work in details.

"EH ..." I lifted my right shoulder in circular motion.

Elijah looked at me and said "It is better to relax a little bit, Prince. It is not good to be sitting on a chair for too long."

I looked at him "But I need to finish them as soon as possible before dinner."

Elijah nodded "If that's what you want, then I will not interfere."

It was so easy trying to convince him. Is it he always like that? Or just with me since I am the Prince? Well, I think I will take advantage of that.

I took another bunch of papers that were beside me and signed them. Elijah remained silent while I was signing the papers. I wish I could finish early because I was not comfortable being with him.

--------------

I heard someone knocked the door.

"Yes. Come in." I said.

The door opened and it was a maid. She told me that dinner is ready.

I left the office with Elijah and went to the dinning hall.

The door was opened as we arrived. I sat down to where the maid pointed at, while Elijah remained standing beside me.

"His Majesty will come soon. Please wait until your father arrives." The maid said.

I nodded.

Father came after several minutes. As he sat down, we started to eat. Today's main dish was chicken soup and salad. As for dessert, it was muffin.

Father looked at me and said "I have some news for you."

I lifted my head surprisingly "What news?!"

Father looked at Elijah and hinted him to go out.

He left.

"I did not have the time to tell you about something important." Father said.

He drank his soup and then continued "The thing is that we might find where your brother is. And the second thing is that we knew the identity of the person who attacks you that evening."

"Really!" I cried. "Tell me where I could find my brother." I said.

"Calm down." He said it sharply.

"So ..... can you explain in details, Father."

He sighed "With further investigation, we found something important at the time of shooting; it was a ripped clothes bearing a logo."

He continued drinking his soup "We think it belongs to the one who shoots you and while he was running into the forest, we assume that some parts of his clothes were ripped. Fortunately, the most important part for us is the logo. Surprisingly, that logo belongs to our enemy."

I looked at Father in disbelieve features. "Huh?! ... So you mean my brother is there?!"

"Do not rush in your conclusion. It may be true, or it may be not. We can assume many possibilities such as the one you say, or it could be that they thought that you were the same person they want to catch, which is in that case your brother."

I was listening to Father with cautious hearing every work he said.

"May be they think that your brother escaped and they want to catch him, which led to eventually shooting you without knowing about your identity."

He paused for a moment.

"The worst possible scenario is if your brother is indeed has escaped from the enemy, we might not know where he could be now."

I flinched. "So ... in other words, we might take a long time to find him?"

He looked at me sharply and said "Yes. Unless we are lucky by having some leads."

I sighed.

"I hope we can find my twin brother as soon as possible." I said it thoughtlessly.

"Don't let your guards down! What if someone hears behind the door. They will know about your identity." He murmured but with a sharp tone.

"I am sorry, Father." I said it nervously.

He sighed "Anyway, moving to the next topic about the identity of the attacker."

"Yes. What about him?!" I asked curiously but with an anger tone.

"He did tell me the truth while he was at the dungeon."

"What truth?" I asked.

He continued "He did say that he will be staying here for a couple of days. His father is accompanying him."

"Why did they come here?!"

"For business matter."

I rubbed my chin "I see."

I looked straight at the window behind Father. I was thinking about the attacker. Did he know who I am or not? And if he did come with his father for business matter according to Father, why did they come at this time, after the competition, in particular?

I flinched and looked at Father "Why did they come at this time in particular?"

"I already told you. For business matter."

"But if you knew that they will come, why you put him in the dungeon?" I asked.

He scolded me "You ask too much."

"But I want to know. I want to find my brother!"

He sighed "I did not know that he will bring his son. Are you satisfied now?!"

I knew, at that moment, that he makes fun of me. So I did not say anything afterward and kept eating.
