"Who dares to interrupt with my plans? Is that you, guild master? No, I can't sense him. It definitely not him,"
After closing his eyes for a few seconds, he opened his eyes and looked in the direction of Ajax and the main demon general and muttered with an angry expression.
"Except for the elite team leader, his entire team is annihilated,"
All the demon kings placed their spirit marks on their elite teams to find their locations and give the emergency missions to those teams that were closest to them.
Before coming out of the demon world, the closest elite team under him was the team which was annihilated by Ajax. Their task was to help him find the entrance of the dimension crevice.
"Whoever you are, I am going to kill you for the killing of my elite teams and interrupting me in finding the entrance to the dimensional crevice," The demon king muttered for something before he disappeared from that place.
Along with his disappearance, there was a marking on the land that was moving towards the direction in which Ajax was enhancing the demonic battle-axe.
The elite team that the demon king had given the task of the mission to find the entrance of the dimensional crevice was one of the least powerful elite teams under him.
There was a particular reason he didn't use the powerful elite team under him because it would definitely alert the other demon kings and if they knew about the dimensional crevice they would do anything in order to claim the ownership of it.
So, he only chose one of the weakest elite teams and that was closer to him.
However, that doesn't mean they were not completely helpless even against the elite general realm cultivators; however, now except for the leader of that elite team, everyone in the team died.
'Just hold on for a minute, I will avenge your teammates and I will save you,' The demon king, who was rushing at his fastest speed silently thought in his head.
His speed was so fast and it made the ground under his feet leave behind a mark.
...
In the middle section of the cursed wilderness,
"All mercenaries, fall back. No need to fight the demons until your death," When he saw the fight between the mercenaries and the demons was in a disadvantageous position, the old guild master didn't waste any time and immediately ordered all the mercenaries to fall back.
"Damn it. Where are the royal family's reinforcements? Does this means, even they also want my mercenary guild along with all the mercenaries to died while defending the Zrochester province?" The guild master clenched his hands when he thought about the Royal family.
In front of him, there were more than 100 mercenaries, who looked dead tired and wanted nothing more than to rest for a bit.
So, the guild master didn't hesitate to order them to fall back.
"We, mercenaries are not the soldiers of this Zrochester province. So, don't try to risk your life for the royal family. Just take some rest and we will once again attack; however, I don't want a single death of my mercenaries. Do you understand?" The guild master shook his head from the thoughts of the royal family and looked at the mercenaries before giving a speech to all the mercenaries.
"Yes, guild master. We understood"
"We understood"
All the mercenaries nodded their heads and immediately moved away from the path of the demon army and allowed them to slowly move towards the exit of the cursed wilderness.
"Edmond, Rulf and others, you also take rest. Compared to the second batch of the demon army, the third batch of the demon army is more powerful," After giving his instructions to the mercenaries, the old guild master looked at Edmond and others asked them to take rest along with the mercenaries.
"But, if the third batch of the demon army arrives and joined the second batch of the demon army, it will be life and death matter for all of us, guild master,"
Edmond replied to the guild master about his thoughts on the third batch of the demon army.
He knew that the guild master had an internal injury and he could not use his full powers. So, he said that their death would be imminent without a doubt.
'Only if he didn't have the internal injury and I can't use my final trump card here,' Edmond silently thought in his head as he clenched his hands.
"You have a point there, Edmond," The old guild master perfectly understood what Edmond was saying and asked, "What do you think we should do then."
The guild master knows that Edmond and Udo were the perfect planners, There was not a single failed mission if they both devise a plan. So, he asked Edmond and Udo about their plans.
"Guild master..."
"Stop interrupting, Rulf. You know how much success rate their planning and how they never failed any mission so far,"
Before Rulf could finish his complaint, the old guild master asked him to stop bothering Edmond. Because he knew that there were some small issues between Edmond and Rulf, he was fast with his words.
"Yes, guild master,"
Rulf could only swallow his dissatisfaction towards Edmond and stood behind the old guild master.
"Hmm"
Edmond thought for a moment and looked at Udo.
In response to his looks, Udo nodded his head as he revealed a smile at Edmond.
"Okay then," Edmond nodded his head at the guild master's request and continued to say about his thoughts, "According to me there are two best options we can do against the demon army."
Edmond took a deep breath and looked at the old guild master and Rulf.
"What are they, Edmond,"
"Scoff"
While the guild master was excited and asked him about those two options, Rulf scoffed at Edmond's words.
'Slap'
"Rulf, Stop behaving like a little kid and pay attention to his words," The guild master slapped the back of Rulf's head and asked him to pay attention to Edmond's words.
"What is there to pay attention, guild master," Rulf didn't feel bad because of the slap by the guild master; instead he smirked at Edmond and continued, "I can say one of his two best options without even thinking much."
"Huh?" The guild master raised his brows and looked at Rulf who was standing behind him and had a smirk on his face.
"Do you want me to say it?"Rulf looked at Edmond and asked with a mocking expression on his face.
"Don't play jokes, Rulf. Do you even know what kind of situation we are in? So, you better stop interrupting Edmond and listen to him,"
The guild master became angry when he listened to Rulf's retorting words.
He didn't know what's gotten into him but Rulf never behaved like this before.
"His one of the best options must be to just escape from here and let the second batch of the demon army go out of the cursed wilderness, right?" Rulf hurriedly said his words and moved away from the group.
