When the demon king Garreth heard the words from the talisman, he nodded his head.
"I need you to kill at least two captains before you return back to the demon world. Do you understand?"
Nevertheless, the demon king once again gave his order to kill the captains of the top 3 mercenary squads.
The talisman in his hands was called a transmitting talisman that could be used to communicate with each other in a specific distance depending on the quality of the talisman.
The one in the hands of the demon king was a top-grade talisman. So, he was able to communicate with an elite demon general titled 'Captain killer'.
Since the demon king had invested 20 percent of his demon army to invade the Zrochester province, he wanted to take as many human lives as possible.
However, killing high-level humans would be his priority.
'As long as he kills a top mercenary captain, all my losses will be compensated and if he kills two top captains, then I will be gaining a lot from the first demon king,'
Just like how humans would be rewarded by the mercenary guild or the royal family for killing the demons, the demon would also be rewarded by the leader of the demon kings also known as the first demon king.
Although he didn't like the first demon king, the sixth demon king, Garreth, was always envious about the resources in the first demon king's possession.
So, he was just trying to cover up his losses in this invasion after showing how much damage he had dealt with the human world.
"I think, it's a bit complicated here, demon king,"
However, what the demon king had expected didn't come out of the talisman; instead, a low unconfident voice came from it.
"Huh? Why is it complicated?"
Garreth raised his brows and asked the 'Captain killer' about the reason for the complication.
"Because the old guild master is keeping an eye on the surroundings of the two captains and I can barely able to watch them,"
Captain killer didn't waste a single moment and explained about the guild master.
'Again? Damn it...why are you making things difficult for me?'
The demon king cursed the old guild master for always making things difficult for him.
"Demon king, are you there? What should I do now?"
While the demon king was cursing in his mind, he forgot to reply to the elite demon general on the other end of the talisman.
So, he took a chance and asked for the instructions from the demon king.
"For now, observe them. If you get a chance, kill them; however, don't do something reckless. I need you alive as I have some other plans for you," The demon king came out of his thoughts and slowly gave his instructions to the 'Captain killer'.
"Yes, demon king. I will keep that in mind," Captain killer nodded his head and calmly replied.
The current form of the demon king was nor his true form. So, he could not stay much longer in the human world. So, he ended his communication with the Captain killer after finishing his words.
"I will try my best, Demon king or should I say father?"
Even though he knew that the communication had ended, he said those words with a slight smile on his face.
'Since you care about me so much. Why don't you reveal it to others?'
The demon who was called as the Captain killer continued to think in his head for the reason that the sixth demon king hid the fact that he was his own father.
'If not for the bloodline I have awakened recently, I would have no way of knowing the truth,' he continued, 'Since you don't want to let others know about it, then why do you care so much about me and secretly protect until I reach general realm?'
There were many questions in the head of the Captain killer about the sixth demon king.
However, Captain killer didn't have the tiniest bit of anger towards his father because he secretly protected him and continued to give resources that helped him reach the peak of the elite general realm in the least possible time.
'I hope you will announce it to the entire demon world that I am your son one day,'
He thought that the sixth demon king had his own reasons to hide the truth about their relationship. So, he just hoped that the demon king would announce it to the entire demon world.
Soon, the captain killer came out of his thoughts and looked at Edmond and the Blood rose.
Along with them, there was the old guild master and Darbaudr. So, he didn't want to risk it and continued to wait.
'I will observe for some more time and then return to the demon world,'
The captain killer had his own plans and things to do. So, he didn't want to waste any more of his time on the mission which was impossible for him to complete.
...
"When do you think the third batch of the demon army arrives?"
The blood rose asked Edmond, who was beside her about the third batch of the demon army.
Because it was more than an hour since they were silently increasing their essence of nature into their spirit consciousness. She became slightly impatient and asked Edmond about it.
"According to their previous invasions, the third batch of the demon army should have already been here. I wonder why they are taking so long this time," Edmond shook his head as he also didn't about it.
"Sigh"
The blood rose sighed after hearing Edmond's words and looked at the old guild master.
"My thoughts are also the exact same as Edmond," the old guild master revealed a small helpless smile and continued, "By the way, Edmond, did you sense something?"
All of a sudden, the old guild master asked Edmond with his brows raised.
"Like someone is keeping an eye on us?" Edmond didn't wait for the old guild masters reply as he continued, "I had that feeling from the time the blood rose has met up with me; however, I was unable to sense a particular location as it is continuously changing every now and then."
While saying that, Edmond pointed in a particular direction.
"Now I sense from there,"
He pointed at the exact location of the captain killer which made the elite demon general become anxious all of a sudden.
'Shit...they found me. I need to escape from here,'
Until now, the captain killer had thought he was not spotted by any of the mercenaries; however, when he saw Edmond was pointing his finger in his direction, the demon didn't want to take any risk and disappeared from the spot into the thin air.
"Now it's disappeared again,"
Edmond shook his head as he was not able to sense anything now.
"Don't worry, he is gone," The old guild master smiled as he replied to Edmond before continuing, "We will wait for another hour and leave from here."
