Chapter 677: King's Excitement

Ajax heaved a sigh of relief when everyone stopped staring at him and followed behind then along with Justice and Neil.

'Finally, I was able to give Udo the monster peach,'

While walking Ajax revealed a slight smile looking at the guest room.

Actually, it was thanks to his imaginary master in dreams, he was able to give the monster peach without fearing anything; otherwise, he had to find some other explanation on how he got an extra monster peach.

'Not only Captain Edmond's mission, but even my mission is also progressed with Udo increase in strength,'

Ajax thought about the two benefits of his earlier actions.

One, with Udo's increase in his strength, then Edmond's mission of taking revenge on one of the top powers would come forward in time.

Two, his mission to strengthen the allies would be progressed and as long as Udo reached the elite general realm, he would get a special reward.

So, overall, he didn't give the monster peach away for anything.

While Ajax and others were waiting for the 'Disciple selection ceremony', all the sects, royal family and great families were annoyed at that event.

Yesterday, all the top powers got an invitation from the mercenary guild that the vagrant cultivators had picked some disciples and they would like to announce it to the entire province.

'These vagrant cultivators are intentionally provoking us,'

Just when Commander Reid was about to exit the hall, he heard Stephen king's words that made him halt in his tracks.

Without even turning his head, Commander Reid nodded his head before leaving the hall.

After Commander Reid left the hall, Stephen silently thought in his head and as soon as he said that some shadows materialized from the corners of the hall before bowing to the King.

"So, give me the intel on the participants of the champion's contest,"

Looking at 10 masked figures in front of him, Stephen asked for some information.

"Yes, master,"

The masked figure which looked bigger than other masked figures took two steps towards the king as he said, "Almost all of them reached the general realm except for a single young man."

The masked figure's voice was eerie which would make those heard shivers at his tone.

"Oh...nice...nice,"

King Stephen revealed an excited look as he nodded his head.

"That young name is Ajax; however, it was said that he was capable of killing the cultivators in the mid-general realm with the help of official elemental spirit which belongs to the Dark element,"

Another masked figure came forward and gave some information on Ajax and his elemental spirit Necros.

"Oh...the kid from the summoner king's inheritance ground," King Stephen remembered Ajax because he was one of the few summoners who didn't join any top powers and stayed in the mercenary squad.

So, of course, King Stephen would remember him.

'The assassin sect sent undead assassins to assassinate him; however, he summoned a general realm element spirit and causally killed them,'

One more masked figure said something interesting that made King Stephen raise his brows before he started laughing.

'Maybe he would create some fluctuations in my contest,' 

Stephen silently thought in his head before saying, "Nice work, Royal shadows. You can continue to observe them by maintaining some distance away from them. No one should know about your existence."

The masked figures were none other than the Royal shadows who only followed the orders of the king.

Although their strength is very limited, they were very good at hiding their presence and gathering information very well.

The king had asked some more questions about other participants; however, no other participant made him feel excited like how he felt when he learned about Ajax's power.

"Also, what about our commander Reid? Is he acting anything suspicious these days?"

After finishing that, he finally asked about Commander Reid.

He asked them to keep an eye on commander Reid. So, he wanted to know about it.

"No, your majesty. He was completely normal and moreover, he even stopped talking to others. Unless someone speaks to him first, he was not taking any initiative to talk,"

The masked figure from the last came to the front as he explained his information on Commander Reid.

"Huh? Looks like threatening his family worked too well," King Stephen nodded his head as he thought to himself before saying that masked figure, "Even though Commander Reid looks like that, you better be careful in watching him. He is the most intelligent commander I have ever seen. So, don't be a fool by acting."

King Stephen knew how intelligent the commander Reid was; however, he could not kill him now. If he did that many of the soldiers would lose faith in the royal family.

If Stephen was his younger self, he would have killed Commander Reid along with his supporters in the army; however, he is now the king of the Zrochester province and could not act foolishly.

"I will remember your woods, your majesty,"

The masked figure replied in the same eerie voice just like the first masked figure.

"Okay. you can leave now,"

Soon, King Stephen asked all the royal shadows to leave and continued to do what they were supposed to do.
