Chapter 25 - The Family Reunion

As soon as the meeting got wrapped up, Wan Yi Jun got out of the conference hall without any delay. He was on the verge of exploding when he found out that Han Ze Min would be part of his team, no matter how hard he tried to avoid that annoying cousin. 

Now that he is quitting his job, he just wants to utilize the one last chance to irritate Wan Yi Jun.

Well, that was the only reason, Wan Yi Jun could come up with as he stomped into their office with a darkened face. 

However, Bing Wen and Lao Yating, who were left behind in the conference hall, couldn't help but discuss how tables have turned overnight. 

None of them hasn't seen their Captain so desperate to avoid a case, that he even went against his senior officer's orders. 

"This officer Han, he is hellbound on getting into our team despite Captain's disinterest." Bing Wen pointed out as he gathered all the documents and followed Lao Yating like a chirpy teenager. 

"I can't even imagine how awkward the situations are going to be when both of them starts to work together. And I damn sure that I will never be able to talk to this new officer freely as I do with Captain Wan." He complained to the man, who brushed off his thoughts with a scoff right away. 

"We will see that..." Lao Yating added with a faint smile gleaming on his face as if he was challenging the other. 

"What?" Bing Wen almost rolled his eyes in shock

"Don't create an image of an annoying person based on the rivalry between Captain Wan and his cousin. Both of them has their own reasons to hate each other. Don't you dare to take sides in their fight?" Lao Yating warned their youngest team member beforehand. As someone who got more experience than Bing Wen, he has seen various inner conflicts happening in a team. No matter how different the team members might be, unity was the only thing that would help them in obtaining better results. He was a bit worried about Bing Wen, who treats captain Wan as his idol, subconsciously started to hate Han Ze Min even before meeting him. 

Hearing his suggestion, Bing Wen unknowingly stopped in his tracks and looked at his senior officer with a confused face. 

"So we are just going to sit back and watch them go head to head like two fighting bulls?" He probed more to confirm his doubts. 

"Yes, absolutely. Though they hate each other, but that doesn't mean that they completely dislike each other. After all, both of them grew up like real brothers and I hope they'll be wise enough to keep their problems out atleast when we are together as a team." Lao Yating added in hope that situations won't go bad as whatever happened with those two adamant men while they were on the police academy. From what he heard from Fei Yan, both of them even got into fist fight over silly things. 

"Hmmm...that can be true though. But still the thing that makes me curious is the reason for their rivalry. If we haven't got caught by Captain, senior Fei would have spilled everything." Bing Wen tried to shook of his disappointment and grabbed Lao Yating's arms to seek his help.

"Why don't you tell me the reason, sir Lao? You know, Last night I was thinking about the same and almost burned my brain. It felt like I was going to do die out of curiosity...So please...why don't you tell me the truth?" With no other option left to curb down his hunger for gossip, Bing Wen tried every possible way to extract the truth from the most reliable source, only to yield in before a tight-lipped Lao Yating. Not only Lao Yating budge from his decision, he even scolded the other for poking nose to other's private lives. 

"I told you na, I was just curious. I want to prepare myself some popcorn before the show starts." Bing Wen added with a sheepish smile as he finally realised that he had to wait some more time to know the ultimate reason for the rivalries between the cousins. 

"Oh please don't worry, Captain Han will definitely bring you coffee and drinks when he joins the team." Lao Yating smilingly removed Bing Wen's hands from him and turned the confused guy in the direction of thier office "And Xiao Bing, we have got many other things to burn your brains. We got a killer on loose and a huge drug cartel that needs to be taken down. So let's focus on this case for now." He said and pushed Bing Wen towards their office. 

"Let's go... otherwise, captain would solve the case without any of us." 

"Yes.. yes...have you seen how much info he gathered within the short time. When I saw him going through the CCTV footage, for a moment I literally felt that there is a high chance that I might loose my job. What will I do if he starts to do my job too?" Bing Wen asked while breaking into a peal of laughter. However little did he knew that his words are going to be very true in a couple of minutes. 

"Captain, what are you doing?" Watching Wan Yi Jun at his table, Bing Wen almost yelled in shock. Did he manifest his own words? He glanced at an equally surprised Lao Yating and quickly rushed towards Wan Yi Jun, whose eyes were glued to the computer monitors. 

"Just noting down people who look similar to the culprit." Wan Yi Jun casually replied while writing the descriptions of people whom he found similar to the culprit on a notepad. 

"Why are you doing that? I'm the IT expert, it is my job. I know that I lack a lot, but let me try my best to prove myself useful." Bing Wen was almost on the verge of crying when he stood next to the table. He joined the police force with lots of hopes and expectations and he didn't want to lose it because of his laziness. 

"Yes, you are...I need to do something till Shen Junru and officer Fei returns. I thought I will just help you."

"Captian, you haven't slept straight for two days. Do you think of yourself as superhuman or what?" Bing Wen couldn't help but ask.

"Just go and take some rest. I will check the culprit."

"Yes, captain. Please rest for a while."

"Hmm...also contact Han Ze Min and ask him about the reporting time."

"Yes. Captain."

"Where is Captain?"

"Just don't call him, right now."

"Why what happened?"

"He just went to sleep."

"What did you find?"

"Apart from a few of them, rest of the injured people kept denying that they haven't used drug, but they have seen two men selling it under the benches."

"Did you look into

"What are you doing in bed on New year. Wake up, wake up."

"I can finally die in peace, now."

"I don't think that would happen very easily."

"None of you wants to get married, then how would I get to see my great-grandchildren?"

"Aunty said that Ze Min agreed to get married this year."

"He has lots of demands for his bride, and I think daughter in law will have a difficult time looking for the woman.

"Really? I thought he was okay with any girl."

"No..no..he made his demands very loud and clear.

Someone tall, but strong; long hair, light eye. Silent but strong personality. Won't cry much."

"His description is so clear, don't you think?"

"Whenever I see a girl, I always think about her."

"I have been remembering her, nowadays. What if she was alive? She would have become a pretty girl, right?'
