When Wan Yi Jun woke up, it was already lunch break and by the time he arrived at the main office, his team members have finished their assigned tasks and were about to wake up him to report their inferences.
One by one, all of them presented their inferences regarding the murder and the culprit without any delay and opened up a discussion to share everyone's opinions regarding the same.
"So far, we have two possibilities that can be considered as the motive for the attack-
Firstly, the Personal vengeance towards the victim and secondly, tarnishing the club's status and name by executing a murder on the premises. From the statements collected from the witnesses, we can either treat it as two separate incidents or a single one." Wan Yi Jun pointed as soon as everyone presented their own point of view of the case. "It is like intensifying the negative impact on the club's image or using the drug deal as a smokescreen to divert the attention from the murder case."
" If both of these incidents are done together, then more people will be involved in the crime to execute it on during new year eve, despite all the security measures." Lao Yating shared his doubt and looked at others who immediately agreed with him.
"If it was a random attack, there would be many more victims, and the culprit must have relayed on some other weapons, like knife or gun to attack. But here, the victim was his sole target, and by the method of attack and number of stabs, it is more or less personal vengeance." Shen Junru explained while handing over the autopsy results.
"But we could discard the possibility of someone having personal vengeance on the club either." Fei Yan added and turned to face Wan Yi Jun, who attentively listened to them." It's better to call the club owner for an interrogation."
"Yes. Let's do that and officer Fei, look into people who might have reason to tarnish the rising raven's reputation or Qin Kai in person. Any previous employees or business partners etc."
All of a sudden, Wan Yi Jun's cell phone rang, interrupting the discussion. He checked the name on the screen and ignored the call as if it was not important.
"And what about Shu Li Li? Did her parents reach the capital?"
"No. They are on the way. It takes at least one and half days from their village to reach imperial."
"What about her family background and her relationships with her family"
"Her father owns few fishing boats and also a village head. Her mother is a housewife. Even though she is a single child, her parents send her to the imperial for studies only because she managed to get into Jing university with a meritorious scholarship. She was really popular among her classmates and teachers and had an excellent academic record. To be honest, everyone was shocked to know about the murder-"
Even before Fei Yan could finish, he was cut off by Wan Yi Jun's loud ringtone and once again, Wan Yi Jun silenced the call.
"None of them could believe that someone nice like Shu Li Li had an enemy who would stab her."
"Does her parents are well-off that she could frequent such an expensive place like rising ravens?" Bing Wen was the one who asked a question that caught everyone in surprise. "I mean...everyone has this misconception that villagers are poor and not exposed to the luxuries and comforts of the city life. So they tend to spend more money and time at these pubs and clubs."
As soon as he finished, the very next moment, Wan Yi Jun's phone rang again, only to annoy him more. With a darkened face, he switched it off and almost shoved the phone into his jacket.
"It is kind of true. Shu Li Li's scholarship covered her tuition fee and she even had some part-time gigs such as modelling and styling expert for others. As we mentioned earlier, she has maintained a good balance with her studies and her private life."
"Isn't she used to live with her friend in an apartment, what about her housemate?"
"Apparently, she went home for the new year holidays. Shu Li Li was also supposed to go home early, but due to some previous assignment with some designer she had to stay back." The instant Fei Yan finished, once again the mobile rang, breaking the silence in the room. However, this time it was Lao Yating's phone. He hurriedly picked up the call to turn into silent mode but mechanically turned his face to Wan Yi Jun with a tinge of surprise.
"Captain," Lao Yating tried to gather Wan Yi Jun's attention, despite the horrifying glares he was receiving from his teammates.
"Please." Wan Yi Jun, who thought that his subordinate was asking for permission to attend the call, casually nodded in agreement.
However, instead of leaving the room, he extended the phone towards his captain and informed in a hesitant voice.
"It's Captain Han."
As soon as the name was heard in the room, all of them understood the person who kept calling Wan Yi Jun till a moment ago.
"Ignore it." Wan Yi Jun instructed without any reluctance and jutted at Fei Yan to continue. But to his bad luck, as soon as Lao Yating rejected the call, the land phone in the office room started ringing, making everyone look alternatively at Wan Yi Jun as well as the phone on the table.
After a moment's reluctance, Shen Junru who sat closer to the land phone, picked up the call while the others anticipatingly waited to confirm their doubts that it was for their captain.
"Hello, emergency task force. Hmm...Okay...I will...thanks for calling." The phone conversation didn't even last two minutes as Shen Junru spoke with a straight face without giving away any of the details of the call. Keeping the phone receiver down, he looked at Wan Yi Jun who has already grabbed his phone.
It was evident that he was completely annoyed by the phone calls and almost cursing inside his brain.
Watching Shen Junru staring at his senior like an ice statue with an expressionless face, Bing Wen gently nudged his arm just to make him talk.
"Hmm?"
"Captain, someone said that your grandma is waiting for you, without having lunch. If you don't come home in an hour and you will be banned from Han mansion forever." He mechanically spoke like a broken robot while the others almost rolled their eyes in shock.
Their doubts were true. I
It was indeed a call from Han Ze Min to persuade his cousin who was trying to avoid going for the family reunion.
"That scroundrel..."
"I'm sorry."
"Captain, it seems really important. Why don't you go? Anyway, it is lunchbreak."
"Okay. I will join you in an hour."
"Okay, bye Captain."
"Who was that?"
"Probably captain Han."
"Damn...he is a crazy guy, right."
As soon as the car entered into a large mansion in the suburban region of the city, a place where the wealthy families of imperial city lived, Wan Yi Jun stared at the mansion was situated in a vast compound. It was so huge that it even had a golf course and horse stable.
"Welcome, young master."
"Hmm."
"Good afternoon, everyone. Sorry, I was late."
"No..no..you are not late, Yi Junah. Ze Min told us that you are caught up with some work."
"Yeah...I came from the office."
"How are you uncle? Any information regarding the intruder?"
"I heard that you were reluctant to take up the case?"
"No..it wasn't like that...we were in the middle of another case and I eventually agreed to look into it. But again, the case got transferred to someone else.
"I'm good
"She had a
"Grandma,"
"Yi Junah…"
"Finally, you are here."
"What are you doing in bed on New year. Wake up, wake up."
"I can finally die in peace, now."
"Huh,
"Why are you saying that?"
"Nowadays, I began to dream about those people who already went to the afterworld.
" You will live long enough to play with your great-grandchildren, or maybe great-great-grandchildren."
"I don't think that would happen very easily."
"None of you wants to get married, then how would I get to see my great-grandchildren?"
"Aunty said that Ze Min agreed to get married this year."
"He has lots of demands for his bride, and I think daughter in law will have a difficult time looking for the woman.
"Really? I thought he was okay with any girl."
"No..no..he made his demands very loud and clear.
Someone tall, but strong; long hair, light eye. Silent but strong personality. Won't cry much."
"Hmmm."
"His description is so clear, don't you think?"
"Hmmm."
"Whenever I see a girl, I always think about her."
"Do you miss her, Yi Junah?"
"Hmm…a lot."
"I have been remembering her, nowadays. What if she was alive? She would have become a pretty girl, right?'
"She must have."
"Sometimes, I think if she was here you two must have troubled her."
"We would have killed each other for her."
