80 Chapter 79: The Kelpie and the Wolf

Name:Part Wolf Author:obsessedWithWolves
Principal Mirembe nodded curtly putting on a polite smile. Elize could see that the woman didn't like the interruption. Great! Now her first impression of Agatha was ruined.

"Hello Agatha, have you come to rely any specific message?" Mirembe asked, raising her brows. It seemed that the woman was quite serious around other people. Her smile didn't reach her eyes when she was talking to Agatha. It was purely an action of curtsy, Elize noted. She looked towards her friend sympathetically.

Agatha quickly shook her head, denying the assumption. "Oh no. You're mistaken. I'm not a messenger. I-"

Elize knew enough about the world of the witches to understand what a messenger was. They were witches who could perform no other magic than operating brooms. Hence, often they functioned as an alternative to fire messages- a very costly alternative employed only by few people of the magical high society. They were regarded much like servants. Elize felt bad for her friend. The world of the supernatural was cruel indeed. But the old woman sitting in front of her must be filled with arrogance if she were to assume that of Agatha even before hearing her out, Elize thought.

Irina interrupted the conversation before Agatha completed her awkward explanation. "I was hoping that Agatha could join Elize during her time here." The witch said leaning towards the old woman. "It would be better if there is someone always around her, just in case of any accidents."

Elize crunched her face at the reasoning. She didn't want to think of Agatha as her body guard. But if it was the only way that her friend could stay, then she'd rather go with the part then see Agatha's disappointed face.

"Oh, but there is no reason for that." Principal Mirembe said, her expression now taking on a more professional air. She now looked like a woman of power. "Elize is a fully initiated witch isn't she?" She asked.

Irina shook her head. "Actually-"

"Not for now." Elize interrupted, quickly explaining. "I'm only human."

Although it was hard for her to admit that in front of others, she did so without any hesitation. After all, she owed Agatha. It was the least that she could do for her, Elize thought.

"I see. And how might this have happened?" Principal Mirembe asked, slightly annoyed at the answer.

Elize sighed. She began, "I was poisoned by-"

"Oh my! Is that her?!" A musical male voice exclaimed, cutting her off.

The boy broke out in a wide grin seeing her reaction to his appearance, his green eyes sparkling with mischief. Elize blushed, embarrassed at being caught staring.

"Oh c'mon! She's just a child you pedophile!" Irina complained, quickly coming to stand in front of Elize, shielding her from the view of the boy.

Elize was surprised for a moment. Pedophile?! What did her friend mean by that? Who was this boy and how could he just suddenly barge into the principal's office?! Was he some sort of student representative? Maybe the son of some elite family? He was definitely not human but he also didn't have the physique of a wolf. He looked more like a model than an athlete. She could hear footsteps nearing them. She peeked from behind Irina's back. Her gaze was caught by the handsome boy's eyes.

His smile widened as he pointed a finger towards her. "What can I do? Women just can't resist my charm!" He said, winking at Irina.

The red haired witch scoffed at his comment. Elize could see that the two appeared quite close. Was he her student then? She wondered.

"If you had your magic, you'd be able to see." Agatha whispered from behind.

Elize turned around to face her friend. She cocked her head to the side in confusion. "See what?" She asked.

"Just my sharp teeth that I use to eat little girls." A sweet voice whispered in her ears.

Startled, Elize jumped back. She landed in Irina's arms who raised a finger in warning to the boy who was now standing in the same spot she had stood moments ago. He had his hands on his hips and was laughing hard, pointing a finger at her.

"What?!" Elize exclaimed. "He ea- eats girls?! Is he a demon of some sort?!"

At that, the boy's laughter intensified. Elize clutched irina's hands in fear. But she couldn't help but feel drawn to the boy for some reason. Was he using some sort of dark magic?! Wasn't that banned?!

"Stop scaring the child Lloyd." Principal Mirembe warned, getting up from her chair. "She's new to our world." She said with a stern look at the boy.

The boy who she now knew was called Lloyd quieted down at the warning and gently bowed to Elize in apology. She nodded back, still clutching on to Agatha's hand. She looked away from him, trying to resist his charm. Her eyes landed on the man who accompanied the boy inside the room. He was quite tall, maybe even as tall as Alex, she thought. His distinctively handsome Chinese features stood out as he leaned against the wall near the principal's table. For some reason, she found a weird familiarity in his graying hair and sharp facial features. Sensing her stare, he turned towards her, his deep black eyes boring into her being. Elize shuddered as his cold gaze landed on her.

With a dismissive smirk he said, "If a witch can't differentiate between a Kelpie and a human, then she's only fit to be food."

Kelpie?! Food?! Elize was shocked at the statement. She looked helplessly at Irina. Maybe it was after all not a good decision to come here. What had she landed herself into?! The red haired witch, patted her back, trying to reassure her.

"That's too harsh, even for the likes of you, headmaster Fu Shen." Lloyd said to the man, faking a shocked expression. He then turned towards Elize with a kind smile and said, "Don't listen to him. I only eat humans, not little hybrids as pretty as you."

Elize cringed back. Was that meant to reassure her?! She was for all practical purposes human right now!

"Lloyd." Irina warned. She turned to Elize and said, "Don't worry. He won't harm you. This Kelpie is quite a gentleman in reality."

The boy laughed, his musical laughter echoing the spacious room. "Yes." Lloyd said, bowing to her. "Vice Principal Lloyd Irving at your service, Chosen one."

Elize was shocked. Was this some kind of joke?! Vice Principal? The boy didn't look a day over twenty! How could he be the Vice Principal of the academy? She looked towards Irina in confusion.

The red haired witch smiled at her reaction. "Don't be deceived by his looks. He's over a hundred years old." Irina said with a wink.

"Ohh." Elize said, trying to process the information. Not only did she get to see a mythical faerie in reality but it also turned out to be her Vice Principal. Of course, she should have expected this. What more was in store for her? Unicorns? Prixies? Wait, was tinker bell and Peter Pan real?! She thought sarcastically.

"Forgive my rudeness, Vice Principal. I'm Elize." She said, quickly bowing before the Kelpie.

Lloyd pouted in protest. He then turned towards Irina and shook his finger at the witch.

"Now look what you've done witch!" He shouted, faking irritation. His playful expression quickly turned to a more flirtatious one as he addressed Elize. "Ahh sweet child, please get up. You can call me Lloyd." He said, bending close to her face.

Elize was quickly pulled back, Irina's grip on her sturdy. "Manners Lloyd." The witch warned, narrowing her eyes at the Kelpie.

"Please call me Lloyd?" He asked, innocently batting his eyelashes at Elize.

Elize couldn't stop but laugh at his playfulness. She just had to wrap her head around the fact that this boy is in reality a water horse who is over a hundred years old. Her laughter lightened the mood in the room. Irina was talking to the principal and the headmaster animatedly while the Kelpie was talking seriously to Natasya. Agatha stood beside Irina with her head hung low, keeping silent as they discussed her future in the academy. Elize was observing people, when her gaze landed on the man, who she now knew as the headmaster Fu Shen.

From what she could tell, the man was clearly a werewolf. He growled at something Irina had said, proving her guesses right. The man seemed oddly familiar. She just couldn't understand why it was so. Elize cocked her head to the side, trying to place him somewhere in her memories. She couldn't think of any instance in which she had met him before reaching the Island. And she was sure that she had not seen him on the Island as well. Then why does this man remind her of someone she couldn't place? Maybe she was thinking too much. Elize was about to turn away, when the man's cold gaze caught her eyes. She shivered, taking a step back. There was a strange glint in his eyes that made her want to scream her lungs out. The man huffed at her reaction and turned back to the conversation, shaking his head angrily at something her friend was saying.
