89 Chapter 88: The Kelpie's wish

"May I come in?" Elize asked, standing outside a pair of ornate wooden doors.

There was no response. For a moment she wanted to turn back and walk away. It was best if she met him somewhere out in the open, Elize thought. The man was certainly an eye candy. She had never seen someone as beautiful as him. And since everyone shared the same view on that matter, she felt less guilty about finding him attractive. She considered the attraction fleeting, unlike the mountain of feelings she had for her mate. But the fact that the Kelpie seemed to think otherwise did disturb her, no matter how much she denied it. Every time the man came close to her, she felt on the edge- an edge that she refused to jump down from.

She looked down at the crumpled note that she held in her hand. Today he had used the Disciplinary Committee to get to her. And since she didn't want any trouble with the formidable bunch, she had no other option than to oblige. She had wanted to warn him about using such measures in the future. If she chose to turn back now, only heaven knows what method he'd use the next time. Making up her mind to try one last time, she knocked on the door once more.

"Vice Principal Irving?" She called out.

There was still no response. Tch. Was he playing hard to get or something? Fine! She had no plans of playing along! There were better things to do than wait on the stupid Kelpie! Elize thought turning back in irritation.

"Okay then I'll come back later!" She called out, taking a step away.

Suddenly the door was swung open, its dry hinges creaking. Elize turned back with a raised brow. The Kelpie was standing on the doorway with his long muscular hands holding the door open. He was in a pastel green victorian looking shirt which hung loose on his figure with a black narrow pants. The green of his shirt made the darker green of his eyes stand out more prominently. Her gaze didn't fail to notice that his hair was disheveled and the first few buttons of his shirt undone. Was he sleeping in his office after sending for her? She thought surprised.

"Elize! You came!" Lloyd said with a blindingly beautiful smile.

Keep your wits Elize. He's just an eye candy. The man eats humans when he's hungry. Elize reminded herself as her breath hitched.

"Good morning sir." She replied curtly, keeping a blank expression.

The Kelpie's mouth turned down to form a scowl. Elize was satisfied with the reaction. After all, she wanted him to keep a good distance from her, she reassured herself.

"It's Lloyd for you." He said, shaking his head.

"No thank you." Elize replied with a shrug.

The water spirit from the Disciplinary Committee was sitting on a long couch in the middle of the room. Her cheeks reddened as Elize's shocked gaze landed on her. Elize could see that the girl's hair was disheveled as well. She easily guessed what the tow might have been doing here prior to her arrival. She cursed under her breath, wishing that she'd stayed outside and not seen what was so apparent to her now. The damn Kelpie was not sleeping! For all she knew he had been making out with the girl from the Committee! Was this even legal?! She thought, as she turned back to the man in question with narrowed eyes.

"Guess I came at the wrong time." She said with a smirk. "I'll come back later, Mr Vice Principal." She emphasized the last two words, making it sound like a threat.

"What nonsense!" Lloyd said in the middle of laughing. Elize couldn't believe it. Her eyes widened in disbelief. The man had the audacity to laugh at a time like this! Turning towards the girl on the couch, he said casually, "Anahita darling, can you please excuse us?"

"Uh- Sure sure Lloyd." The girl said getting up from the couch hastily. She quickly started walking towards the door without even a glance at Elize. Reaching near the Kelpie, she paused. With an awkward smile she asked, "When should I come-"

"I'll send for you darling. Don't worry." Lloyd said with a wink.

Anahita's face became redder as she shyly smiled back. She then turned around and awkwardly made her way out of the room.

"And close the door behind you darling." Lloyd instructed.

"I'll wait for the call then." She said before hastily closing the heavy wooden doors behind her.

Elize was amazed at the whole show the guy put on. It was evident that the water horse had no feelings towards the poor girl. Although she knew that he was a flirt, she didn't know that he took things to this extent, tricking young naive girls into sleeping with him!

"Now, where were we?" Lloyd asked, finally turning towards her.

He grinned ear to ear, walking slowly towards her with a predatory glance. Thankfully, she didn't flustered this time, owing to the dissipation of his perfect image in her head.

"Nowhere." She replied, raising her chin in arrogance. "I just came inside. You had something urgent to tell me."

At that, the Kelpie's face changed, faking a hurt expression.

"Do you hate me Elize?" He asked, with a pout.

Elize maintained her poker face. She was not going to fall for it no matter how cute he tried to act, she thought to herself. "No I don't sir. I don't even know you." She replied nonchalantly.

"Ouch. That hurt." He said, clutching the place above his heart.

Elize huffed, rolling her eyes. "Do you really have something to say or should I come back later?" She asked, folding her hands above her chest.

"Would you come back to me later, on your own accord?" He teased, almost reaching near her.

"That's not what I-"

The Kelpie's laughter cute her off. "You're so cute when you do that. It makes me want to bite you." He said licking his lips, his wet tongue gliding over his moist lips slowly, making a show of the process.

Elize suddenly felt nervous. She was after all a powerless human in a closed room with a hundred year old Kelpie. "I warn you," She said backing off, "if anything happens to me, my mate will-"

"Blah blah." Lloyd said, suddenly irritated. "My mate this- my mate that. Can we stop talking about whoever that is?" He asked, stopping inches from her.

Elize looked around her quickly. If she were to take even one step back, she'd fall back on to the couch, and she definitely didn't want that. Not with him standing so close to her. Besides, even if she wanted to run, the Kelpie would catch her. There was no way out of this situation, it was better to not infuriate him further, she thought nervously.

"Fine." She said, gritting her teeth. "Why did you call me here?"

"We had a deal remember?" Lloyd asked, cocking his head to the side.

Elize narrowed her eyes at him. "What do you want?" She asked.

"What would you be willing to give?" He asked, his gaze travelling the length and breadth of her body.

"I-"

Suddenly he took a step towards her, closing the gap between them. Elize jumped back in shock, her heart slamming against her chest violently. But before she fell back on to the couch, his one hand wrapped around her waist, holding her steady. He leaned against her neck, inhaling her breath.

"Mmm, you smell so nice. Your soul must be awake." He whispered against her ear.

"What?! Get away from me!" Elize shouted, shocked and disgusted at the same time.

"What's the rush?" Lloyd teased, mischief twinkling in his eyes.

"I'll scream if you don't let go." She threatened, pushing at his chest.

The Kelpie pouted in disappointment. With a sigh, he straightened putting her down on her feet. "You're no game Chosen One." He said stepping away from her.

Elize dusted her clothes in disgust. "Don't call me that." She murmured between clenched teeth.

"A date." He said turning away from her.

"What?" Elize asked, confused.

"That's what I want from you. I want you to go on a date with me." Lloyd said, as he walked towards his huge desk.

Her eyes widened in disbelief. "I told you that I-"

"Already have a mate." The Kelpie interrupted with a shrug. "I know and I don't care."

"You're impossible!" Elize shouted, annoyed.

It was better that there was a huge distance between them, or else she would have punched him for saying that. How can someone be this thick skinned?! Elize thought angrily.

"You can have me all to yourself Elize. You just have to ask." Lloyd teased with a wink.

Elize cursed under her breath. It was definitely her own fault for coming into the room. There was no one else to blame. She should have known that the Kelpie was a nutjob. "I'm leaving if you don't have anything else to say." She threatened.

"Oh?" He taunted.

"Fine!" Elize shouted, turning around in irritation.

She started walking towards the exit when she heard him chuckle. She kept walking, ignoring it. As she was about to open the door, the Kelpie cleared his throat, vying for her attention.

"Then you might not be interested in this letter then?" She heard him ask.

"Not falling for it." She murmured, unlocking the door.

She heard the sound of paper tearing. "Dearest Elize," Lloyd started, "I'm sorry that we didn't have the chance to bid farewell before I left the Island. Meifeng and I have-"

"Stop!" Elize shouted turning around in shock.

The Kelpie was grinning ear to ear leaning against his desk on the other end of the huge office. He had a torn envelope in one hand and a letter in another. There was no doubt about it. She started walking towards him hurriedly, her mind suddenly filled with a bunch of thoughts. The letter must be real! There was no way that he'd know about Meifeng, she thought as she was suddenly overwhelmed with an immense sense of happiness. The gray haired boy chuckled, seeing her overjoyed expression.

"Give me that!" She said, snatching the letter from Lloyd.

She turned the letter around in excitement. It was Alex's handwriting!

Dearest Elize,

I'm sorry that I didn't have the chance to bid farewell before I left the Island. Meifeng and I have decided to stay on with her family for some time. I had received a fire message from Irina about you joining a college. I hope the new atmosphere is not too overwhelming for you. Even though I cannot leave Meifeng at this moment, I feel reassured about your safety knowing that Agatha and Irina are with you and that Zack will always be around you. I promise to visit you as soon as the situation here gets better. The letter I am told will find you within three days time. It's much slower than fire messages. I wish I had a witch around me. Anyway, I'm doing my best with what I've got.

Love

Alex.

P.S. Zack has set out for the college. He will be there in a week's time. So calm your anxious heart.

Elize's heart thumped against her chest excitedly as she read the last sentence over and over again. Alex had written that the letter would find her in three days time! So that meant that Zack would reach the academy within four days! Zack was coming! He was finally coming!
