107 Chapter 106: The pixie mixture

There was a smug grin on his face as he regarded the Alpha. In contrast, Zack looked like he was trying his best not to shift at the moment. The muscles on his arms bulged, straining against his tux, as his hands flexed to form fists. The tension between the two was apparent.

"Same," Zack replied from between clenched teeth.

Elize looked at Agatha for help. It seemed that Zack was jealous for some reason that she couldn't understand. Agatha shook her head, asking her to stay put.

"Oh, so you two know each other." Lang Jin said with a laugh, patting Zack's back.

"Not really." The Prince and the Alpha replied in unison, continuing their stare-down.

Lang Jin awkwardly stepped back, sensing the projected animosity.

A few passersby had stopped to watch the unfolding drama. The group had successfully grabbed the role of the night's entertainment. Seeing the worsening situation, Eun Ae reacted quickly.

Grabbing on to Zack's arm, she put on her most childish act. "Come, Zack! Have one dance with me." Eun Ae whined, pouting.

As Zack's attention turned towards the fox half-breed, Elize got up from her seat as well. She wanted to grab the bitch by her hair and keep punching her until her face was like dough. Rage boiled inside her as she took a step forward. But suddenly, a hand reached out and pulled her back to her seat. Elize's head snapped towards the Kelpie in irritation.

"Not now, little wolfie. Your time has not come." He whispered, leaning into her ears.

She was about to yank her hand free from the man suddenly Agatha's hand reached out to grab her free hand. A sudden sense of calm came over her. She knew that Agatha had put the calming spell over her once again. Elize leaned back to her chair, with both her limbs held tightly by two different people. Ignorant to this, Zack shook his head at Eun Ae.

"I don't feel like it Eun Ae," he said with a sigh.

Eun Ae didn't seem like she was about to give up. Holding his arms closer to her chest, she whined, "Pretty please?"

Elize watched the girl shamelessly flirt with her mate. There was an odd sense of emptiness in her heart. Her body was missing the anger that should have been natural to her in this situation.

"You both look like such a cute couple." Aerin cooed, clapping.

"I think that I will tear her heart out when the time comes," Elize said with a sigh.

Lloyd chuckled at her response while Agatha turned towards her in shock. Although Elize looked calm, she seemed to hold grudges even while under a calming spell. Luckily with the noise of the blaring music and everything that was going around, her words were lost in the chaos, not bringing any unwanted attention to them.

Zack looked back and forth his two friends confusedly. His attention turned to Elize, who was staring at him with a blank expression. He hesitated, "I-"

"Great! Let's go!" Eun Ae exclaimed, dragging him towards the dance floor. Zack reluctantly followed her, looking guilty.

A whimper escaped Elize's mouth. Nina looked at her in sympathy.

"What's wrong with her?" Lang Jin asked, raising his brows in confusion.

Nina quickly blocked his view of Elize, grabbing his hand. "Come, let's dance." She said, trying to distract him.

Elize bit her lips to control her sadness from consuming her. She didn't want to be the one creating drama. She wanted her to be strong- if not for anyone else, at least for herself. Her hands clenched into fists.

"You okay?" Agatha asked with a concerned look.

Elize nodded. Taking a deep breath, she said, "Of course. Why wouldn't I be?"

"Don't you wanna have fun?" Lloyd asked, turning her to face him.

Elize looked at the Kelpie. It looked like he knew who Zack was to her. If he knew for all this while, and he still had feelings for her, wasn't this cruel to him? She thought, suddenly feeling guilty. He had a sweet smile on his face that told her that he would be there for her. For the first time, Elize smiled at him with her whole heart.

"You're a good friend." She said gratefully.

"I know." He replied with a wink.

Aerin suddenly cleared her throat, making Elize turn towards the direction. The she-elf confidently stepped forward, coming to stand right in front of Lloyd.

With a shy smile, she asked, "Prince Irving, will you da-"

"Not now, Aerin," Lloyd replied without taking his eyes off of Elize. With his right hand under her chin, he turned her to face him. With an earnest look, he asked, "Will you dance with me, Elize?"

"I don't know...." Elize replied with a shrug.

"C'mon." Lloyd said, getting up from his seat, "You need to move around to let things off of your mind."

He extended a hand towards her, which she took after a brief second of hesitation.

Agatha quickly protested. "But-"

"Go have some fun, Agatha darling, before that she-elf takes your boyfriend away for good," Lloyd said, pointing towards the other end of the room.

Legolas was standing against the wall with a horrified look on his face, while Firyr kept moving towards him seductively. Agatha grunted.

"He's not my boyfriend!" She shouted before taking off towards the direction.

"Shall we?" Lloyd asked Elize with a mischievous smile.

She nodded, laughing at her friend. The two moved towards the dance floor when Elize suddenly stopped. Excusing herself, she walked back towards where Aerin was standing with her mouth wide open. Seeing Elize coming towards her, she stepped forward with narrowed eyes. Elize stopped right in front of the she-elf. Removing the coat, she hung it over Aerin's shoulder.

"Since you like it so much, why don't you keep it?" She asked with a smirk.

Without waiting for a response, she walked back towards the Kelpie confidently.

"You bitch!" She heard Aerin shout from behind.

Elize took the prince's hand happily once again, ignoring the elf's outburst.

"Poor kid. you broke her heart." Lloyd said with a proud smile.

His expression contrasted with his words. He was looking at her with newfound awe.

"I think you're the culprit there." Elize teased, "She seems to have a huge crush on you. And you turned her down."

"Don't start. She is a headache." Lloyd said, putting a hand to his head.

Elize laughed at the reply. Lloyd was comforting on a whole new level. The man directly catered to her savage side, and she loved it. As they walked towards the dance floor, the crowd parted to give them space. The eyes of many stuck on to Elize, looking at her with emotions mixed with jealousy, desire, and awe. Reaching the middle of the dance floor, Lloyd stopped, turning her towards him.

"Who is she?"

"She's so beautiful!"

"Why is she with Prince Irving?"

"I wish I was her."

"I wish I was him!"

She heard people whispering around them. She glanced around hesitantly. There was now a huge gap between the two of them and the crowd- all eyes were on them.

Lloyd leaned close to her and whispered, "Don't mind them. It's just you on the dance floor tonight. Forget everyone else, including me."

"It's awkward, they're all looking at me," Elize said nervously.

The confidence that she had when removing the coat, suddenly vanished. How could she dance carefree while everyone was staring at her like this? She thought to herself.

"Then let me help you," Lloyd said with a wink.

He raised his hand, and a waiter appeared before them with a tray. On it, were tall glasses with some sort of glowy liquid inside. The first thought that came into her mind was that it was some sort of potion. The prince took a glass and offered it to her.

"Here, drink this." He said, extending the drink towards her.

She hesitantly took the glass and took a whiff of it suspiciously. Her face lit up as she looked back towards the kelpie with much enthusiasm.

"What is this? It smells delicious!" She exclaimed.

Lloyd grinned at her. "Opium, wolfsbane, and gin brewed together. We call it the pixie mixture. It's the only thing that can help supernatural beings like us get drunk." He explained. "Although I'd advise you to take only a single-"

Before he could complete the sentence, Elize had gulped the entire glass down. She slammed the empty glass back onto the tray with much satisfaction. The waiter quickly retreated from the place, leaving a surprised Kelpie and a drunk girl behind.

"Whooooo!" Elize shouted happily, raising her hands.

She was suddenly feeling high. As she started swaying her hips to the sides to the rhythm of the music, the crowd relaxed. Within a few minutes, the wide space around them filled with squirming bodies of barely clothed supernatural creatures who looked more or less like highly attractive humans, all smiling suggestively at her. Elize smiled back enthusiastically, drunk to the core. As the music intensified, so did the pace of her dance. Lloyd kept an arm around her waist protectively, warding off the lustful gazes of others surrounding them.
