111 Chapter 110: Waking up

Name:Part Wolf Author:obsessedWithWolves
She was tired and was almost about to give up when a log came floating towards her. She quickly grabbed it, shifting the weight of her torso onto it in relief. She lay her head against the log, exhausted from the effort. That was when she noticed a weird smell coming off of the piece of wood. She raised her head to get a better look. But the sight awaited her threw her off balance. She was not holding on to a log but rather a dead body- one missing a large chunk of meat from its throat. Blood oozed down from the wound, spreading through the water. Soon, the water was no more, and she was in a lake of blood. She screamed in shock, letting go of the body.

She fell back into the lake of blood, drowning in it. The taste of blood filled her mouth. In a flash, she was out of the pool and was sitting on the shore. She now had the corpse in her arms, with its bloodied throat exposed to her mouth. Blood was dripping down from her hands and mouth. She screamed in horror, pushing the corpse away from her in disgust. All of a sudden, Zack appeared out of nowhere. She tried getting up from the ground but slipped on a pool of blood and fell back, landing on her behind. She looked at her mate, helplessly.

There was a look of horror on his face as he kept looking at her without doing anything,

"Baby, you're covered in blood." He said, pointing at her in disgust.

"No!" Elize screamed, sitting up abruptly.

She was panting heavily, her hands gripping the sheets desperately.

"Elize?" Agatha asked, rubbing her eyes sleepily.

Elize turned towards her friend lying next to her. The first rays of the sun peeked through the curtains in the room, falling on the witch's sleepy face. There were tiny dust particles all around, making her wave at them in irritation. She looked around, confused. Was that a dream? She asked herself, taking in the familiar surroundings. Her breathing slowly came back to normal as she sighed in relief. She was suddenly feeling thirsty. Sliding off of the bed, she walked towards the tea-table.

Agatha followed, yawning loudly. "You okay?" She asked, hugging her from behind.

Elize nodded with a faint smile. Pointing towards the couch behind the table, she asked curiously, "Why is she sleeping on the couch?"

Agatha peeked towards the direction from behind her. Letting go of her grip around her waist, the witch stepped forward with a huge smile.

Elize pushed her friend playfully, laughing.

"Not that!" She said, finally controlling her laughter. Her brows rose up in suspicion. "Why is she in our room? And my clothes.." She trailed off, looking down at her pajamas.

She didn't remember changing into them, nor did she remember getting back to the room. All that she could remember was that she had quite a good time at the party and then..she shifted! Yes, she had shifted, she recalled. What happened after that? Did she lose consciousness? Did someone bring her home? And who the hell changed her clothes?

"I changed it. Don't worry." Agatha said, patting the side of her arm.

"I shifted right?" Elize asked, raising her brows.

"Yeah.." Agatha said, nodding her head.

A nervous look flashed in her eyes for a fraction of a second. But she quickly covered it up with a huge smile. Elize wondered what it was about. Why did she get nervous when she asked her about the shift? Before she could ask the witch about it, she quickly changed the subject.

"You hungry? I'll wake Nina up. Let's go out for breakfast. or should we order in?" She asked, walking towards the couch.

"Breakfast? Don't we have classes today?" Elize asked, confused.

"It's Sunday silly. We don't have class." Agatha said, chuckling.

The witch bent down and tapped on Nina's shoulder, trying to wake her up. The she-wolf grunted, shoving the witch's hands off of her.

"Sunday? But the party was on Friday." Elize asked, doubtful.

"Yeah...and?" Agatha asked without looking at her.

"I slept for a whole day?!" Elize exclaimed, her hand covering her mouth in shock.

She couldn't believe it. The last time that she had slept like that was when she was sick back in the Island. A whole day? Wait, was she sick? She thought, slapping her face lightly.

"Don't worry. You didn't miss much." Agatha said, laughing at her actions. "Nina and I hung out here the whole day yesterday, waiting for you to wake up. Of course, we ordered a lot of food from outside. You missed a really good burger."

"I slept for a whole day..." Elize trailed off, unable to believe it.

Why had she slept for so long? Did something go wrong with her transition? Was it because she shifted earlier than she was supposed to? Was it because she was drunk when she shifted? She remembered the horrible pain that accompanied the transformation. But she couldn't remember anything else before or after it. She was pretty sure that she was drunk as she remembered drinking the pixie mixture.

"It's normal Elize. That's what Zack said." Agatha said, sympathetically.

A dreadful thought crossed her mind. What if it was not a dream? What if what she saw had really happened? She raised her hands to her nose and sniffed it carefully. Despite her heightened sense of smell, she wasn't able to get any other smell than a mild scent of her strawberry body-wash.

"Why are you sniffing yourself?" The witch asked, looking at her as if she was crazy.

"I had a strange dream...." Elize trailed off, thinking to herself.

"Fine! I got up! Stop pushing me already!" Nina complained, sitting up.

Agatha stuck her tongue out the she-wolf and walked away towards the bathroom. Elize smiled at the disoriented looking wolf.

"Hey. Thanks for staying with me." She said, looking at her friend gratefully.

Nina smiled back with a nod. Stretching her limbs lazily, she asked,

"How do you feel?"

Elize didn't know how to reply to that question. To be honest, she was feeling a bit disoriented and out of place. She felt like she had lost a lot of memories and the dream that she had seen was still fresh in her mind. So many things were bothering her that she hadn't had the time to ask herself the question- how did she feel? But she guessed that Nina was asking about how she felt physically. Elize stretched her limbs casually, checking out if her body was functioning alright.

"Lighter, I guess," Elize replied with a shrug.

"I guess you're alright then. I'm so glad." Nina said, pulling her into a warm hug.

Elize smiled, hugging her friend back. The fact that her friends stayed around her to make sure that she was alright, made her feel warm inside. If not anything else, she was at least sure of that one fact.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Elize turned towards the direction as Nina bolted towards the door. Owing to her heightened sense of smell and hearing, she could tell that it was Irina before the door was even opened. Her tummy grumbled as the smell of food wafted inside the room.

"Breakfast is here!" Irina shouted excitedly, holding up two huge paper bags.

"Right on time," Nina said, grabbing one of the bags from her hand quickly.

Elize laughed, watching her friend rummage through the bag with much enthusiasm.

"Woah! You look absolutely stunning!" Irina exclaimed, looking at Elize.

"C'mon Irina. I just woke up." Elize replied, waving dismissively at her friend.

Irina turned to Nina in confusion.

"She hasn't seen herself in the mirror yet," Nina said with a shrug.

"That explains," Irina said, nodding.

The red-haired witch quickly came and gave Elize a warm hug, squeezing her tightly.

"Stop teasing me guys," Elize complained, pouting her lips.

"Here, look," Agatha said, coming out the bathroom with a handheld mirror.

Elize took it hesitantly and raised it towards her face. She gasped in surprise, seeing her reflection. The girl who stared back at her with wide eyes had a much more well defined facial structure but one that was quite similar to her old face. Her cheekbones were now more prominent and her jawline was much more defined. Her eyebrows were thicker and her eyes seemed to look much more streamlined. She did not look that pale anymore and there was a tinge of color in her cheeks. Even her lips looked much fuller. The small noticeable changes had abruptly transformed her looks. She had always known that good looks ran in the family but her reflection in the mirror was looking drop-dead gorgeous.

"What...happened to my face?" She asked, pinching her own face in awe.

"Advantages of your shift," Nina replied with a wink.

"Your face is not the only thing that changed." Irina teased, her gaze traveling down her body.

"You're right," Nina said, looking at her appreciatively.

"I just noticed that," Agatha said in awe.

"Stop staring, you all!" Elize shouted, quickly turning away from them in embarrassment.

The girls burst out laughing at her reaction. One by one, they filed around the small tea table and spread out the food from inside the paper bags. Elize's mouth watered as she watched all the delicacies in front of her.

"Dig in," Irina said, tearing off the wrapping from a meat roll.

Within seconds, the girls were shoving food down their mouths in excitement. One would think that they had never seen food before that day.

"Hey, guys?" Elize asked, biting into her burger.

"Hmm?" The girls asked, without looking up from their plates.

"I love you all." She replied, smiling widely with a mouthful of food.
