110 Chapter 109: Covering it up

"Elize!" Agatha called out again.

Gathering all her energy, she responded the best way she could, "Oooooowwww!" She howled. 

Hoping that it was enough, Elize tiredly sat up, waiting for her friend to find her. She was too tired to walk. She could hear footsteps approaching. It seemed that more than one person was coming towards her. That's when the sweet smell of forest and honey wafted towards her. She sighed in joy, remembering the way that his body felt against hers. It was a warm indescribable feeling, that made her feel like she was wrapped in bliss. 

Elize sharpened her ears and kept her gaze towards the direction from where the sound of the footsteps was coming from. Soon, a group of people emerged from the trees. Leading them was Agatha and Zack. She also spotted Nina and Lloyd following behind. She wagged her tail happily, seeing them as she was too weak to walk towards them. Agatha's mouth dropped open as her gaze landed over Elize. She stepped closer in awe.

"Elize...is that you?" She asked in wonder. 

Elize yelped in response. She felt happy, seeing her friend. Agatha was here to take her home. She was so tired anyway, she thought to herself. Just as she was getting relaxed in their presence, a certain unwelcome guest stepped towards her. Seeing Eun Ae walk towards her made her tense up. She didn't want the woman here. Why was she here? Elize growled in warning. 

"Oh my God! She killed someone!" Eun Ae suddenly screamed, her gaze fixed on a spot right behind her. 

What was she talking about? Elize wondered. What was the girl trying to accuse her of now?! Why was she always creating troubles for her! Damn her! Elize screamed in her mind, rage suddenly rising up once again. 

"Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr." She growled at the girl, baring her canines in warning.

Nina quickly grabbed Eun Ae's hand, yanking her back in irritation. 

"Shut up Eun Ae. You're making it worse." Nina said, glaring at the girl.

Eun Ae looked at Nina in surprise, turning towards Zack for support. But he did nothing. His eyes were fixed on the wolf who was sitting a few feet away from where they stood. A worried look covered his face. Lloyd was the first to move towards her. He took a few steps forward, cautious not to startle her in any way. Elize watched as he stopped a few steps away from her. 

"Elize, are you okay?" He asked, squatting down on the forest floor.

"Baby, you're covered in blood," Zack said, coming to stand next to Lloyd. 

Elize cocked her head in confusion. Blood? She looked down at her paws, which were now covered in a brownish, quickly drying substance. The metallic smell which she had detected earlier was coming off of it. Was this blood? Why was she covered in blood? And whose blood was it? 

'Zack? Why am I covered in blood?' She asked, reaching out through their bond. 

Zack sighed, a sad look flashing in his eyes. He hesitated before replying. 'Elize, you-'

"Baby?" Eun Ae asked, interrupting their conversation. With her eyes wide, she shouted, "What do you mean Zack?!"

"She's my mate Eun Ae. That's what it means." Zack replied, without taking his eyes off of Elize.

"What?! But--" Eun Ae's voice broke, her face reflecting her shock. 

Elize put her snout in the air and sniffed as she sensed the presence of two more people. From behind Eun Ae came Lang Jin and Aerin. As soon as they came near, their eyes landed on the spot behind her. 

"Woahhh!! That's gory! Did she do that?!" Lang Jin exclaimed, pointing towards the direction. 

"Ewwww!" Aerin said in disgust, stepping back towards Eun Ae. 

Elize was panicking. What were they all talking about? Did she kill someone? How could she kill anyone? She thought helplessly. A whimper came out of her mouth. 

"Those who feel like they have to state their opinion can leave," Lloyd warned, glaring at the ones behind him. Pointing towards her, he said, "You're making her nervous."

"But she killed someone!" Aerin shouted in protest. 

Lloyd suddenly stood up, his hand forming into fists. "You're getting on my nerves. Run along now." He said, narrowing his eyes at the she-elf. 

Aerin looked terrified seeing the reaction of the Kelpie. She looked like she was about to cry. She protested with quivering lips, "But-" 

"Jin, please get her out of here," Zack said, turning to Lang Jin. Without allowing him to protest, the Alpha turned his attention towards the rest of the group. With a determined expression, he said, "Agatha, Eun Ae and Nina, I want you guys to go back to the club and help Legolas tend to the wounded boy. Make sure that he's all healed up and doesn't remember anything."

Elize was confused. Why were they all talking about wounds and murder? Had she done something terrible? Why wasn't she able to remember anything? A strong smell of blood was coming from somewhere behind her. She didn't dare to turn around and look towards the direction. What if it was worse than she could handle? She thought, a sense of dread filling her. 

"Are we going to cover this up?" Eun Ae suddenly asked, looking shocked.

"What else do you suggest, Eun Ae?" Zack asked, giving her a sharp look. 

Elize watched as Lloyd turned around towards her and winked mischievously. A spark escaped his fingertips, shooting towards her at lightning speed. She ducked her head, fearing that it would hit her. But the ray curved around her body to fly a spot behind her. All of a sudden, the smell of blood disappeared from behind her. Elize looked up at the Kelpie in shock. What had he done? Why was the smell gone? Lloyd chuckled, motioning towards her to stay quiet. 

"Cover what up?" The Kelpie asked innocently, turning towards Eun Ae.

"The dead boy! What about his parents?! How can we do this?!" Eun Ae shouted, her face red in anger.

"What dead boy?" Lloyd asked, raising his brows.

"Where did the body go?" Eun Ae asked, looking shocked. 

"Did you just-?" Zack trailed off, his mouth falling wide open in shock.

Ignoring the comments, Lloyd turned back to Elize. Cautiously taking another step forward, he said, "Elize, I need you to shift back."

Elize whimpered. She wished she knew how to, but sadly she didn't. 

"I don't think that's possible," Zack said, quickly catching up with the Kelpie. "Usually, we stay in our wolf forms for at least a day after we transform." 

"Do you trust me?" Lloyd asked, looking at Zack.

"With her or in your abilities?" Zack asked, raising his brows.

"My abilities, of course," Lloyd said with a sly grin. 

"Yes," Zack admitted with a sigh. 

Elize looked at both of them wide-eyed. She remembered how the two couldn't stay in the same room without beating each other up. It looked like they were finally agreeing on something. Whatever their plan was, they better hurry with it. She was too weak to stay awake for much longer. 

"Elize, nod once if you can hear me," Lloyd said, turning towards her. 

Elize nodded tiredly. 

"Good. I'm going to try something okay? Don't be scared. You know that I won't hurt you right?" The Kelpie asked with a warm smile.

'Zack?' Elize reached out through their bond.

'Yes, baby?' He asked, looking at her with eyes full of love. 

'I want to go home.' She said sadly.

'Soon, baby. The Kelpie will help you.' He replied, reassuring her.

"Will you let me come near you?" Lloyd asked, grabbing her attention once more. 

Elize hesitantly shook her head. She had to control her urge to snap at him while he reached out to pat her head. Her wolf instincts were on an edge today, and being tired was not helping the case. Her weakness only added to her irritation. The Kelpie slowly slid his hands under her torso and shifted her weight onto him. Elize growled in warning but didn't resist. 

"Good girl. Don't worry you're safe in my hands." Lloyd said, rubbing her chin.

For some weird animalistic reason, the action felt good. She leaned in slowly into his arms as he kept rubbing under her neck. A slow warmth seeped into her skin from where his fingers touched her fur. When her eyes grew heavy, she didn't resist this time. She knew that she was safe. 

"What are you doing?" She heard Zack's concerned voice as her eyes slowly closed. 

"Putting her to sleep." Lloyd's whisper was the last thing that she heard before her vision blackened.
