"Elize I-" Agatha hesitated.

Through her now clearing vision, she could see that Agatha was looking at her nervously. Why was she looking at her like that? Was there something on her face? Elize felt the contours of her face with her fingers. She didn't feel like anything was wrong. Then what was it? As the crowd started shouting, the push of the noise towards her was becoming more intolerable. She was barely trying not to scratch herself to death, but her senses were only getting more stressed by the minute. Watching Agatha standing there, looking like a helpless fool was adding to the irritation.

Elize glared at her friend. "Tell them to stop now!" She screamed in anger, her sound suddenly coming out deep.

For a moment, Elize was surprised herself. Her voice sounded coarse and deep at the same time for some reason. It was totally unlike her own voice that she was used to.

"Elize, you're scaring me!" Agatha exclaimed, stepping back.

Elize looked at her friend in confusion. What was happening to her? Was she drunk? Does the pixie mixture have side effects? All of a sudden, her throat started burning. It felt like someone had scratched her insides deeply and poured hot water over it. Tears welled in her eyes- the pain was unlike anything that she had experienced before. She looked at Agatha with a pitiful expression.

"My throat-" She choked, clutching her neck. She said desperately, "My throat hurts."

Agatha's eyes widened in panic. She grabbed Elize by her shoulder and looked into her eyes. "Elize, tell me that you're not-"

"Please," Elize pleaded, sobbing.

Agatha looked like she was on the edge of breaking down. Taking a deep breath, she said, "Wait here. I'll go get some water for you."

Elize nodded, sniffling.

The witch quickly went towards a group of bartenders, now watching the fight from a corner. Seeing the retreating figure of her friend only made the situation worse for her. Maybe she shouldn't have let her go. Slowly, a dizzy feeling came over her. Her vision was once again blurring. When it cleared in between, she gasped in surprise. The specks of dust in the air were suddenly looking all too big. But the next moment, her vision blurred again, accompanied by an intense pain spreading over every inch of her body. She hugged herself tightly, hoping that it would pass.

"It hurts." She whimpered, "Someone help."

But there was no one around to hear her. When her first bone cracked, she screamed in pain, "Aaaaaarrrgggggghhhh!!"

Elize could feel the blood in her throat choking her. She lay there on the ground, looking at the stars above, unable to make a single sound. Slowly, the shift was getting completed as the broken pulp of her body started molding itself into a white ball of fur. A snout and four limbs were the first to pop into place. It was followed by a long tail and a full body. In the place where the girl once laid, was a wolf, now taking labored breaths. Elize whimpered as the pain slowly subsided.

She opened her eyes cautiously, scared of what she was going to see. The stars in the sky twinkled as if welcoming her to a new world. She gasped, the sight of the hundreds of stars that were once invisible to her naked eye. But the sound that came out of her mouth surprised her more. It was more like a purr rather than a gasp. Confused, she raised her hand to her face. Before her was a paw covered in snow-white fur. A dreadful thought crossed her mind. Did she just transform into her wolf?! But it was two days before her birthday! Was that supposed to happen? She thought, panicking.

But such dreadful thoughts were pushed aside as her senses began picking up new things. The scent of her mate was now hitting her full-on, coming from the direction of the closed door. She quickly got up from the ground, the urge pulling her towards her mate, taking over her senses completely.

"OOoooooowwwwww!" She howled, reveling at the beauty of her own voice.

The new angle at which she was seeing the things around her made her pause and admire little things every now and then, distracting her from the mate pull. Way too many things were pulling her attention towards them. She waved at the flying specks of dust as she walked forward, trying to catch it.

She could hear Agatha scream from somewhere inside the club. She was shouting at someone. She heard her name repeated again and again by different people. One among them was the sweet voice of her own mate. She shivered in joy, hearing her mate call her name, although she couldn't understand why they all sounded panicked.

She was about to reach the door when a loud sound startled her. Elize jumped back in surprise as she narrowly missed a pebble that bounced off the metal door. She turned towards the direction from where the stone had come from. Two boys around Brandt's age were standing about ten feet away from her. One of them still had a pebble in his hand.

"Look! It's a wolf! I told you that strange creatures appear around this area sometimes." The boy with the pebble said.

Elize cocked her head to the side curiously. Why did he throw a stone at her?

"Woah. It's so white!" The other boy exclaimed in awe.

Suddenly, the first boy threw the pebble at her again. She dodged it effortlessly, landing closer to the boys. This time, she was irritated. Her reasoning was pushed aside by an animal instinct to kill. She slowly inched towards the boys, with a low threatening growl.

"Bobby it's coming towards us!" The one who threw the stone exclaimed, his eyes widening in fear.

"Why did you throw the stone at it?!" The one called Bobby exclaimed, staggering back.

"Shhoooo!" Said the first boy, waving at her.

His actions combined with the pace of their quickening heartbeats excited her. The prey was ready for the chase, her wolf instincts told her. She let out a growl, making the boys shiver in fear.

"Now it's angry!" The one called Bobby exclaimed.

"Run!" The first boy screamed, before turning around and running.

Her instincts took over as she took off after the two. An exhilarated high like an adrenaline rush sent her into a wild state. She was enjoying the power that coursed through the limbs. The boys were too slow, as she reached one of them in a matter of seconds. In her excitement, she dragged her paw against his back. As her claws slid through his back, his shirt tore along with a lot of his skin. He fell face-down, screaming in pain.

Elize quickly jumped on top of the fallen boy, pressing her paws against his wounded back. The smell of blood was driving her crazy. She licked the wound, relishing the sweet taste that filled her mouth.

"Please." The boy whimpered.

Elize looked curiously at him. Bobby's tear-soaked face made her hesitate for a second. She looked around for the other boy who had thrown the stone at her. It seemed that he had taken off, leaving his friend to die. She stepped off from Bobby, raising her snout in the air to pick up the scent of the other boy. She could suddenly hear his heartbeat from somewhere near. Yesss that was her prey! She decided, taking off into the direction.

"Aaaoooooooowwwww!" She howled as she found herself in a forested area.

Her voice echoed back, filling her with a sense of glee. All she needed now was to taste more blood! She thought to herself hungrily. She moved quickly, jumping between the trees, and landing on branches and dead leaves. Surprisingly, her footsteps made no sound at all. Relishing the feel of the forest under her paws, she let herself be pulled towards the direction of the boy's erratic heartbeat. As she spotted him, she let out a howl in joy.

"Somebody help!" The boy screamed, his face construed in fear.

She let out a chuckle, which sounded more or less like a bark. Without wasting another second, she jumped at her pray, her claws elongating with the wild madness of her hunger. As her claws pierced into his chest, the boy fell back to the ground screaming in pain. Annoyed at the sound, Elize instinctively bit down on his throat and pulled his flesh out. With a gurgle, the boy stilled. Elize bent down to lick the blood from the lifeless body, her once white fur now covered in a shade of red.
