133 Chapter 132: Brother in law

Name:Part Wolf Author:obsessedWithWolves
"You seem happy," Nina said, coming to stand by her.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Elize asked, beaming. "I can be in the open with Zack now."

Nina laughed, shaking her head. "You're such a kid."

"I'm just enjoying the moment," Elize replied with a wink.

Her eyes wandered back to where Zack was standing. His face was construed into a serious expression as he instructed some of her classmates. The sun's rays highlighted the golden undertone of his brown hair. The blue of his eyes looked lighter than when he was in the infirmary with her. Only after she had shifted had she realized that his eyes changed into different shades of blue, depending on his mood. It amazed her at how she could stare at him for hours and still discover something new about him a few minutes later. Zack towered over the rest of the class like a magnificent mountain that others could only gaze at with awe. She smiled proudly at the realization that he was hers- hers alone for all eternity.

"Hello?" Nina called, waving her hands in front of her eyes.

Elize turned to her friend with a confused look. "Hmm?" She asked, raising her brows.

"I was asking if your highness would like to join the rest of them if you've finished gaping at the Alpha," Nina asked teasingly.

Elize laughed, nodding her head. "Why not? After all, I have plenty of time to keep staring." She said, sticking her tongue out.

Nina shook her head as she led Elize towards the group. The two walked, pushing and pulling each other playfully all the way. Elize laughed as her friend teased her about newborn heat. According to her, the Luna was in heat like every other newly shifted werewolf. She claimed that this was the reason for Elize being unable to keep her hands off of her mate. As they came closer to where Zack was standing, he turned towards them with an incredulous look on his face.

"Shhh! He can hear you." Elize said, laughing.

"He did, and so did they," Nina said, pointing towards the place behind Zack.

"Why is their queen bee not here today?" She asked, turning to Nina.

"I have no clue." The red-haired wolf replied with a shrug

Elize turned around as she sensed someone behind her. Lang Jin stopped right in front of her with an awkward smile. Elize was surprised at the absence of any hostility in his face. She remembered how he had defended her the other day during the training session when Eun Ae had called her a murderer. She hadn't had much time to think about Zack's cousin in the last few days, but now that she thought about it, she didn't understand what caused the shift of attitude in him.

"Hey, Elize." Lang Jin said awkwardly.

"Uhhh...yeah?" She asked warily.

"Can I have a moment with you?" He asked, lowering his voice.

Why was he so polite to her all of a sudden? She wondered. Elize had no clue how to handle Lang Jin- she looked towards Nina for help. The last "talk" she had with him had ended up with his hand getting burned by Dragonfire.

"What is it, Jin?" Nina asked, stepping in.

Lang Jin sighed, looking nervously back towards where Zack stood. Elize understood that whatever he wanted to say, he didn't want any part of it reaching his cousin's ears. He looked towards her pleadingly, hoping that she'd understand. Elize nodded her head, deciding to hear him out. She walked towards the other end of the ground with a blank expression, dragging Nina along with her. Lang Jin quickly followed the two of them. Sitting on the edge of the stairs leading to the ground, she turned towards the senior.

"What do you want to tell me?" She asked, cocking her head to the side.

Lang Jin sat next to her quite awkwardly. Putting on a charming smile, he asked, "How are you today? I heard that you had to go to the infirmary in the morning. Is everything alright?"

"Actually, yeah..." She said warily. This newfound hospitality was making her suspicious of Lang Jin's intentions. Why would someone who hated her suddenly start making small talks with her? But she didn't want to appear rude, so she replied, "Thanks for asking."

Lang Jin drew a deep breath before saying, "Listen, Elize, about the other day.." He trailed off, looking back and forth her and Nina.

"Hmm?" Elize asked, confused.

There were so many memorable days with this particular relative of her mate. So she wondered which day he was referring to.

"Please forgive Eun Ae." He said quickly, looking miserable. "She didn't mean to cause a scene at the party."

"What are you talking about?" Nina interrupted, narrowing her eyes.

Elize huffed. So that was what he wanted. Lang Jin must have thought that she would be crazy enough to unsee the look on Eun Ae's face on the day of the party. The evil girl was quite pissed off at her failure to shame her through Aerin.

"Oh, so you knew that it was her behind Aerin too, huh?" She asked with a smirk.

"What? Eun Ae did what?!" Nina exclaimed, standing up.

"I don't know what's going on in her mind nowadays." Lang Jin said, looking at Nina with a sad expression, "I think she's finding it hard to accept the relationship between Elize and Zack."

"That's not an excuse!" Nina fumed. "They're mates! How can she think of such evil things?!" She shouted, her hands forming into fists.

Elize looked at her friend with gratitude. At least she had people around her who understood her emotions.

"I apologize on her behalf." Lang Jin said, quickly getting down on his knees. He looked at her with pleading eyes, "Please understand Elize- Eun Ae's had a crush on Zack since we were kids."

Elize laughed at the statement.

"So?" She asked, looking at him incredulously.

She didn't understand what this man was getting at. Just because she had a crush on her mate since forever, was she supposed to stand back and smile as Eun Ae played pranks on her? She was no saint. She didn't care to show mercy on anyone who tried to come in between her and Zack- no matter who it was. What did he want from her? She hadn't done anything to that scheming bitch yet, she thought.

"Just.. for my sake, can you not tell Zack about this? He won't forgive her if he knows." Lang Jin pleaded, bowing before her.

So that was it! He didn't want Zack to know about it. It wasn't much of favor since she hadn't planned on telling him herself. But Elize wanted to know if the sincerity he was showing was just because of Eun Ae or if it was something else. Seeing his earnestness, she suspected that Lang Jin liked Eun Ae. It was highly likely that it was all an act- but something told her that it was not as simple. Maybe Lang Jin changed?

"Why should I?" Elize asked, narrowing her eyes at him. "Who are you to me?"

Lang Jin sighed, "Since you're my brother's mate, we're technically family. Please, I'll do anything you ask me to." He pleaded, looking up at her.

"Are you crazy, Jin?!" Nina shouted, shaking her finger at him in anger. "I can't agree with this."

"Fine," Elize said, ignoring her friend.

Nina turned towards her with a shocked expression. "What?! Elize, don't-"

Elize stood up from her seat and walked over to Nina. Taking her hands in hers, she said with a soft smile, "It's okay, Nina, I think I will give her a chance." Turning to Lang Jin with an amused expression, she said, "After all, my brother in law is begging me for it."

Lang jin quickly stood up with a relieved expression. With a broad smile, he took a few steps towards her.

"Thank you!" He exclaimed, looking at her gratefully.

Elize nodded, smiling politely back at him. Keeping the same smile, she leaned in towards him and whispered, "But remember Lang Jin, I won't be tolerant always. The day she dares to put her filthy claws on my mate, I'll rip her heart out myself. Zack is where I draw the line."

"I understand." Lang Jin said awkwardly. "I owe you, Elize."
