Chapter 133 - 133: The Jungle's Tribespeople [Part 3]

"Do we make a run for it?" She asked.

"No... This is their territory, they'll chase us and drain us of our energy." Said Gray.

How did he know so much of tribes people? He didn't but it was common sense. They can survive in a forest filled with beasts and somehow remain undetected.

They probably have countless abilities at their disposal.

Gray estimated their strength to be at least noble level.

"So fighting is the only option..." She concluded. "Very well, can I use it now-"

Delta's brows raised before she swayed to the right.

At that moment, a tribesman suddenly blew by her with his knee sticking out.

*Swoosh!*

She barely avoided the knee to the face as one of the tribesmen suddenly blew by her.

"I'll take that as a yes." Said Delta as she gripped tightly onto the blade. "I'll handle the one that almost kneed me just now." She said as she turned towards the other tribesman on the ground.

"Just don't burn down the houses." Said Gray as he grabbed her third katana and unsheathed it.

The two got into their positions before looking around at the tribesmen who were observing them.

The leading tribesmen, or rather the one who had signalled the other to blow the horn, spread his legs wide before crouching down.

He looked up to the sky and started to fill his lungs with air whilst he inhaled.

Shortly after, a roar which came out from the core of his being were directed at the two.

*ROAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!*

The roar sent a shockwave towards them, causing their heads to sway back and their clothes to almost tear off from all the pressure.

With their ears ringing, Gray and Delta stood their ground.

"Who am I supposed to beat to make them stop?" Gray asked, turning to the female tribesmen beside him.

She had a troubled and worried expression on her face, one which showed that she wasn't sure what she was meant to do.

"Our... Leader..." She muttered, pointing to the one who had roared. "Don't... Kill... Or I'll kill you..."

The split second after she said that, Gray's figure blurred out as he leapt towards their leader.

Wore the skull of a demon with horns on his head. Since he had horns too, the skull appeared to have four horns instead of just two with his sticking out.

Seeing that Gray was up for the challenge, the tribesman stuck his arm into the tree beside him and pulled out a large battle axe.

'So that's his main-'

Gray was interrupted, as a spear was propelled towards him from the side by one of the other tribesmen.

He swayed his head back, barely avoiding it's edge as it passed right by him.

Despite avoiding it, the spear glowed and a tribesmen appeared before him in an instant his hand gripped on tightly to the spear.

'Teleportation!?'

Gray reacted in time and kicked towards the tribesman's face.

His momentum was still being carried on by the first leap, they were going to collide.

The tribesmen let go of the spear, and to Gray's surprise, he vanished.

His kick passed through thin air.

As he glanced down, his pupils dilated. The same tribesmen was hanging onto the spear from beneath.

It was then that Gray realised what his ability was. The ability to teleport to any location where his spear was at and in any position.

Still, fighting him didn't matter. What Gray should have in mind was quickly beating their leader and getting this over with.

Or so he thought.

As he landed on his platform and leapt towards the tribes leader once more, he felt chills go down his spine as a spear was dashed at him from behind.

Gray created a platform to his right, before kicking off of it.

The cheers from the other tribesmen as they watched resounded across the area.

*Swoosh*

The spear passed right by and a split second later, the man appeared in it's location, holding onto it.

On his hand was another spear which he threw directly towards Gray.

This time Gray didn't dodge and instead, landed onto a platform watching as it burst towards him.

Once it was inches away from Gray's face, he swayed to the left to avoid it.

[Trajectory Shift]

*Swoosh*

It blew by.

But In that instant, the tribesmen appeared before him with both spears in hand.

Without hesitation, he thrust them both towards Gray, from the sides.

But to his surprise, not only did his spears halt in the air, but also the figure of his target who had been standing in the air Infront of him, disappeared.

*WHAM!*

A split second after the confusion sunk in. The sole of a foot, slammed into his head from the side.

The kick was so powerful, that it sent him flying towards a nearby tree.

*CRASH!*

As he crashed into it, he felt his blood boil. His recovery was impressive, as he quickly got in the position to leap back towards Gray.

He was seemingly unharmed, but the mask on his face was partly broken.

Right before he was about to initiate the leap – Gray appeared before him again, this time with another kick in motion.

An axe kick which was heading down at his head.

A grin appeared on the tribesman's face.

It was fast but visible, and its path was obvious. It could be blocked.

It took him a moment to widen his eyes as he realized that the sole of Gray's foot, which had been inches from his face, was now an inch away from it.

[Fast-forwad.]

Gray had fast forwarded the kick.

*WHAM!!!!!*

The kick, crashed into his face.

[Pause.]

But this time it didn't send him flying down.

His figure was suspended in the air.

'What just happened?' That was the one single thought the tribes man had.

But what he should have been worrying about, was what was about to happen now.

Gray grasped his hands together before slamming them down into the core of his shredded stomach.

*BAM!*

The impact was without a doubt powerful, yet despite that, the tribes man didn't move.

The other tribesmen who had been cheering observed with a look of surprise and confusion in their faces.

The surprise changed into anger as they that one of theirs was losing.

As Gray raised his arm to slam it down once again, a shadow loomed over his figure and he felt the hair on the back of his neck rise.

Gray glanced up, countless tribes men with their spears could be seen above him, drawing closer with every passing second.

[Unpause.]

He turned away from the tribesman he had just attacked. It's figure went plummeting towards the ground at high speeds.

As for light show coming from the tribes men above him. That was his biggest concern at the moment.

They mostly decided to attack at the same time.

Abilities of all kinds varied from their arsenal.

Some had their spears surrounded by wind, while others had sparks of lightning glowing around their spears.

One of them even had a shadow covering both their spear and part of their body. He was the one standing beside the tribes leader.

There was no room for Gray to dodge, he couldn't pause all of their spears as it exceeded the limit he could have paused at once.

He had barely any time, to think.

With cold sweat, dripping down his face and his eyes opened wide, he leapt at them.

Gray was slowly entering a state of complete focus as he did so.

The first and closest tribesman who was before him, thrust his electric spear towards him.

At that moment, he felt a chill go down his spine as he stared directly at Gray.

Following that, Gray kicked off of a platform, dodging the first tribes man in the process.

Another tribes man appeared from above, in the area he had kicked towards, so he kicked again, to the side, barely dodging it again.

*Swoosh*

Time seemed to slow down for Gray. His eyes rolled hastily left and right, searching for an opening in the formation.

He was surrounded.

*Clang!*

Their spears collided with one another as they thrust at Gray.

On top of one of their back's the muddy boots of a shoe. Gray had paused stepped onto their backs.

*SWOOSH!*

The muscles, on Gray's legs bulged out as he leapt towards the tribesmen leader.

He was almost within it. The 40-meter range which he would need to pause step successfully ahead of it.

He just needed to move a little further up.

He repeated what he did beneath, barely avoiding the barrage of tribes men who had leapt at him, by kicking off one platform onto another.

He had many close calls but he did was able to break through countless gaps in their disorganised formation.

Even if there was a countless number of them, with [Pause Step.], it was basically impossible to catch him.

'Just a little more' – He thought as the momentum carried him up.

Suddenly, something tugged at Gray's feet from beneath. As he glanced down, his pupils dilated.

A tribes mans hand gripping down tightly onto his ankle.

He was the only one from the countless tribesmen who had managed to Grab on to him.

A grin appeared on the tribesmen face from beneath his mask, as he swung his arm down with Gray in it's grasp.

Gray's figure went plummeting down as he threw him to where all the other tribesmen were landing.

But to his surprise, the moment he let go of Gray, Gray's figure remained suspended in the air in the same spot.

He didn't go plummeting down as he should have. He had paused himself.

He tried leaping off the back of his comrades to Grab Gray once more, but Gray got away as he unpaused himself and leapt onto a platform right after.

The tribes leader watched with an amused expression beneath his mask as Gray appeared ahead of him in the following instant.

A grin could be seen on Gray's face as he did it, he finally reached him.
