169 Chapter 169: Through the fire and flames 1

Little Mei was busy reading emails when she heard a knock on the door.

She hurriedly went and open the door only to find Kenny's smiling face appearing right before her.

"What the hell are you doing here? Who let you in?"

She irritatingly asked. She figured no one can just casually walk in to the design department unless you're the CEO.

There's a special badge for people who works at the design department since design concepts and planning for new projects were one of their scopes.

"Tut tut, Mei-Mei have you forgotten. I'm the acting CEO here. So I have access to everything."

"Why are you here then?!"

"Did you get my message?"

Kenny mockingly asked. Mei Chen rolled her eyes.

She knew he just came to her office just to brag.

"I do! Now scram I need to work."

"Wait! Give me your phone number first so I can contact you to claim my reward."

Mei Chen fished out her wallet and handed him her business card.

"Here. Now go! I don't have the time to idle!"

She berated then angrily slammed the door. She was busy enough because of him making them work double time to issue an early game patch.

Kenny happily looked at the business card and secured it in his pocket.

The girls in the design department were brimming with envy towards Mei Chen.

They all have one thing in their mind.

'How dare they flaunt their relationship to us..'

News at what happened in the pantry travelled fast and now everyone knows that Mei Chen is currently 'in a relationship' with the new coinsellor.

During lunch time, Kenny was on his way back to the design department.

He wanted to pick Mei Chen up and have lunch together.

Suddenly, he notice that the people were running out of the office.

Everyone was panicking and clamouring away.

Kenny can't help but feel that something bad was happening.

He hurriedly ran towards the office but one employee stopped him.

"Hey get back. Hurry!"

"What happened here?"

"There's an explosion!."

The employee tremblingly said. There's a smoke coming out of the ceiling and the sprinklers didn't went off.

So everyone ran outside saving themselves.

"What?!! Mei Chen. Do you knowwhere Mei Chen is?!!"

Kenny panickingly asked. He looked around but he couldn't find her.

"I don't know. I think she's in Ms. Kim's office. Get back here. Hey!"

As soon as the employee told him where little Mei was Kenny ran inside without hesitation.

He just came that morning inside the design department.

Luckily with his keen memory he knows where Tia's office was even though the whole place was already covered by thick black smoke.

He kicked the door opened and saw Mei Chen lying unconscious on the floor.

He carried her out. He was losing his strength.

He was having a hard time breathing as the smoke slowly clouds his lungs, and his vision was becoming all blurry.
