139 Time To Move Out: Part 18

Thursday, 30th of April 2021. Garret High School. 11-A. 0945 Hours.

One of the tires of the car was blown. It surprised Clara like hell. She almost thought that the wire cutter somehow triggered the bomb. Nevertheless, Clara continued to disarm that VBIED.

Clara: "One last wire."

The last artillery shell was put away from the car by Clara and Patrick moved it to a safe position. Clara grabbed the explosive that was placed on the car and threw it away. She stuck a C4 on the explosive and blew the explosive.

Clara: "Is there any bomb left?"

Nathan: "Nope, all clear."

Clara: "Nice. Let's just go home."

Nathan: "Hotel, Foxtrot, Delta, Lima, Serval, Alpha, Bravo, prepare your air vehicle. We're preparing for extraction."

Clara: "Copy that."

Lisa: "I'll get the Blackhawk."

Aiden: "I'll get the other Blackhawk."

Lynn: "I'll get the F-15. Come with me Serval."

Patrick: "Back in the Sukhoi I go."

Alpha: "Let's go then."

Those who were mentioned immediately disappeared from the school. Three minutes later, the roar of the jet could be heard from the sky. They were coming from the Su-35 and the F-15. It didn't take too long until MH-60s started landing on the school parking lot. They were Aiden and Lisa's helicopters that were landing on that schoolyard.

The contractors got inside the helicopters and they took off from the ground. The helicopters started gaining altitude and left the school ground. It was a quick operation. The police just arrived in time, they brought the EOD team as the contractors left the area of operation.

Patrick: "Nice one."

Lynn: "Yeah, we've done it. Good job."

Nathan: "Go to the Forward Operation Base. We'll do the next phase of our grand plan."

Lisa: "Roger that."

Aiden: "Alright, Shaddam, Aveline. It's time for your part of the plan."

Shaddam: "What do you mean Aiden?"

Aiden: "Go get the helicopter. It's a very important part of our plan. Without the helicopter, we can't do our heist."

Clara: "Stacy, have you forged the ID that we stole?"

Stacy: "Yeah, I've done it, but I haven't uploaded a flight schedule for you. In short, you can't steal the helicopter yet."

Nathan: "Ok, let's just get back to work. Where can you upload this database?"

Stacy: "It's Alex's job, and he might need help."

Lynn: "Why?"

Stacy: "You can't barge into a military base with the intention of hacking a database. There's a better plan for that. We can intercept the data itself with the help of a radio tower."

Patrick: "I see, he need help to break in eh? Ask Clara, she's one of the best infiltrators."

Clara: "Me? Hell no. Ask the Hitman team."

Fernando: "Hitman team expertises is not on stealth infiltration. Sure, we can do that, but there's a better person than us?"

Nathan: "Ok, now, let's return to the planning table on the forward operating base."

Thursday, 30th of April 2021. Forward Operating Base. Meeting Room. 1300 Hours.

All of the contractors were in their military uniforms. They debriefed first about what happened in their school. The attack on that school was very unusual and very unexpected, especially with all of the preparations that were made by the attackers whose identities were still unknown.

Nathan was standing near the projector as usual while the other contractors were sitting down around a round table in that meeting room.

"A lot of shells, twenty kilograms of explosives and two suicide vests. This is a planned attack, but how this go unnoticed?" Nathan asked.

"Hmm, I agree with your opinion. Twenty kilograms of explosives is something," Clara said since she was an explosive expert.

"This is a planned attack with the help of an inside man, but who is the inside man?" Henry gave his opinion.

"Our target is also too random. A sedated English teacher and a random junior, why?" Eva asked herself.

"Ok, let's just list my suspicion, but I'll just mark this person as our primary suspect, I'll call this person, El Presidente," Nathan said as he showed the picture of a boy named Brendon Smith.

"Brendon? That guy? Why? He is harmless as heck," Hannah said.

Nathan switched to the next slide and he showed an official government document about the arming of students, "Governmental Order, 20th of April 2021, letter 23/2005/GSP-0876."

It was the spending of the ministry of defense. On point number 234, there was unusual spending for small arms. The proposal said that the defense minister and the educational minister approved the buying of small arms for students in school. It looked like that was the decision of the defense minister himself.

"Not that I disagree, but why?" Henry asked.

"Simple, fewer soldier bodies, the better, besides, student's body is replaceable, soldiers' aren't," Lynn said her opinion.

The opinion sounded cynical, but it was the truth in every contractor's mind. They could act as a meat shield while the response team could act slower. It was a very cynical solution, but a good solution.

"Well, yeah, let's get back to Brendon. Brendon is a drug dealer or some sort of it," Nathan said.

"Brendon sent Nathan and me to a drug deal which went wrong. Luckily, the pilots were airborne to help us," Laura said.

"A kilogram of weed was given to us. It was delivered to a dealer in a plaza on the outskirts of the capital," Nathan reported his deal with Brendon, but it wasn't a good enough evidence.

"Sure as hell that he's a kingpin, but what makes him become a potential terrorist?" Aurelia asked.

"I don't know, just my feeling," Nathan said.

"Yeah, it's justifiable, I'll look into it. In the meantime, why don't we resume our preparation for the grand finale?" Ryan said. He wanted Nathan to resume their heist planning since it was far more useful than chasing a ghost.

"Yeah, but this case has to be solved before we leave this country. Remember, no loose ends," Nathan said as he turned his computer off.
