142 Time To Move Out: Part 21

Thursday, 1st of May 2021. An Air Force Base. 2200 Hours. Shaddam and Aveline.

A military base in another state of that country. A place where the contractors sourced the helicopter for their heist. Aveline and Shaddam were walking to the helicopter that was in the middle of an airfield.

"Second Lieutenant Jerran and Second Lieutenant Harrison, everything is set sir," the mechanic of that helicopter said.

"Thanks, Sergeant, we'll take it from here," Shaddam said. He was posing under a fake name of Harrison.

"Very well sir," the sergeant said as he loaded cargo to the helicopter with the other soldiers. They were paletted cargo that contained weaponry and some MRE for the troops in the capital. They wouldn't arrive at the capital though, the would end up in the contractor's hands.

Shaddam and Aveline went inside that Mi-26 and started the engines of that helicopter. The blades of the helicopter started spinning and Aline requested take off from the ATC.

Aveline: "This is ***-527. Requesting take off. Direction 2-8-5 at altitude of 9,000 meters."

ATC: "***-527, permission granted."

Shaddam pushed the throttle stick and the helicopter immediately gained some distance from the ground. The helicopter flew to the west direction and they immediately commenced their plan.

Shaddam disconnected the radio from the ATC on the AFB and gave instructions to Aveline to search for something. Aveline needed to find the GPS tracker that was placed in that helicopter. They needed that tracker to disappear since their plan would not work If the GPS tracker was still there.

"Aveline, go, don't mess up the helicopter electrical system ok," Shaddam said as Aveline stood up from the seat with a knife on her hands.

According to the blueprint that Nathan gave to them. The Mil Mi-26 had a tracker placed near the blades of the helicopter. It was accessible from the interior of the helicopter as long as they had a blade to open the panel inside the cargo bay of the helicopter.

"Cables, where is that tracker?" Aveline asked as she was hanging on the ceiling of that helicopter with the help of a rope and some straps.

One wrong cut and Aveline could disable that Russian hardware, but all she needed to find was a small box between those wires that were very messy. As if an elementary school student put them there.

"Smart, retrofitting the entire helicopter fleet with a tracker," Aveline said as she found that box that needed to be disconnected from the helicopter. She let it dangling around in the ceiling of the cargo bay.

She returned to the helicopter pilot seat and Shaddam asked her whether she had successfully found the tracker or not.

"Yup, I just need to cut it and we'll be home free," Aveline said as she sat back down on the co-pilot seat.

ATC: "Radio contact is back. What happened?"

Shaddam: "Minor communication problems. It will need repair after this flight."

ATC: "Solid copy."

Their plan was simple. They would fake a crash in the middle of a mountain while the other contractors were waiting. The Blackhawks and the container trucks would carry the disassembled helicopters to the planned zone and missions would be complete.

The disassembling of the helicopter wasn't their job so they wouldn't even bother with that, but they would definitely help the others when they drove out of the town.

The rendezvous point was located two hundred kilometers away from the air force base where the helicopter was stolen. It was a safe guess that the SAR team would arrive in more than a day. Meanwhile, the contractors would be standing by on the hill where they would land that helicopter.

"Aveline, talk to Nathan."

"Copy that," Aveline switched the radio frequency to the one that Nathan had access to.

Thursday, 1st of May 2021. A hill located near the capital. 2300 Hours.

"Yeah, I hear you loud and clear," Nathan said from the radio.

On that lot, there were two Blackhawks parked. Their main purpose was to transport that Mi-26 to the point where the gold would be dropped off. The Blackhawks could lift some parts of the Mi-26, but they couldn't carry the main airframe. The Blackhawks would carry some parts of that helicopter while the container trucks would carry some of the heavy parts of the helicopter.

It was a difficult and jarring task, but it's worth it than buying a whole new helicopter. All of the contractors were there to help with the disassembly. It shouldn't take too long since they were prepared with the proper tools. The Blackhawk would also help by taking up a role as a makeshift crane.

"Ready?" Nathan asked the contractors.

"Sure," they were wearing their uniforms albeit without any weaponry or vest or any face concealment. They needed to be comfortable in order to work efficiently.

"Six minutes until we arrive. Aveline, cut the wire," Shaddam said as the other contractors saw that helicopter on the sky.

It was a very huge helicopter with very huge cargo space. It was more than enough to carry the gold that they were going to steal. Aveline and Shaddam landed the helicopter on the empty lot and they immediately turned off the engine of the helicopter.

"Go! Go! Go!" The contractors moved with power tools on their hands to disassemble that helicopter.

"Group A, remove the blades. Group B, remove the tail rotors, ground C, remove the seat and other things," Nathan gave a command.

Group A was Patrick, Lynn, Clara, Aiden, and Lisa. Group B was the hitman team, and Group C were the others.

They started unscrewing every screw and moved the parts of the helicopter to the container truck. They did that since the Blackhawks couldn't carry the whole helicopter without it being disassembling the helicopter until it became light enough to be carried by helicopter.

All of them started carrying every part of the helicopter into the container trucks. Whether they were a steel plate or very delicate equipment, they would just put it inside the container of the truck. There were three trucks that could carry the cargo. They put the helicopter blades inside the container.

"Ok, one down, a lot more to go," Patrick said as he placed a helicopter blade with the help of Lynn and the others.

The parts were very heavy and it took all of the group A member just to lift a single blade. Nevertheless, the other group had begun putting the parts like wheels and some steel plates inside the container truck.

"How is the progress?" Fernando said as he unscrewed a window from that helicopter.

"20% of progress in one hour. Not bad, considering that we're disassembling the helicopter in the middle of darkness," Nathan said as he looked at the clock that pointed to the 12.

They had put the blades, the engines, and the tail rotors into the container trucks. They still had to disassemble some of the airframes so the Blackhawks could lift the helicopter.

"This is taking too long," Aline said as she lifted a steel plate from the helicopter.

"Well, no shit," Alex unscrewed a screw from the airframe of the helicopter and lifted a steel plate.

They threw it into the container truck and they searched for another part that can be taken off from the helicopter.

"Help me lift the seat," Lynn said as she finished unscrewing the chair.

"On three, one two three," Patrick and Lynn lifted the chair from the helicopter and put it inside the container truck.

The electrical system of the helicopter was disassembled by Aiden and Lisa since they understood any electrical system of a helicopter. One by one, the dials and the meters inside the cockpit were gone since they were moved to the container truck.

It took the contractors six hours to disassemble the helicopter. It was a very long time and a very tiring time, but it was worth it. The helicopter airframe could be lifted by the Blackhawks now.

"Ok, Patrick, Alex, and I will be driving the trucks. Aiden, Lisa, you know what you have to do," Nathan said as he entered one of the trucks and lead the convoy.

Patrick was in the middle and Alex followed them from behind. The remaining airframe of the Mi-26 was lifted off the ground by the Blackhawks and they flew away to the direction of the capital. The other contractors entered their own car and acted as a security for the convoy.

Lynn entered her car and she turned on the siren. She was back to wearing her combat loadout with an HK416 on her body. Clara accompanied her in the backseat with an MG 338 on her hands.

Laura led the convoy with her black SUV and they left the hill where the Mi-26 was suspected to be missing. They wouldn't find anything, mainly because most of the parts of the helicopter were taken by the contractors. The cargo was also included.
