178 Why I Became A Contractor: Part 16

Charlie kept thinking. She looked at the building with full might. She wanted to know whether she knew the target or not since there were many bearded guys around the perimeter and not every one of them could be considered as hostile.

"Lima, look for anyone who is using their hand to text something. I will look at it." Charlie grabbed her phone and pressed the Numpad. I looked at the people at that banquet. Six of the bearded men were holding a phone and only three of them were accepting a call at the same time.

"Well, Charlie. We have a situation here." The target was hard to be found since none of them were actually had any meaningful special characteristics according to your guidance.

"Left-handed caller. Do you see it?" Charlie asked.

I moved my scope multiple times. I saw a person that was using his left hand to hold his phone. It could be the target. I put a bullet inside the chamber of the anti-material rifle.

The scope of that rifle itself wasn't an ordinary scope since it had some range-finding future and a feature where it could guide a special bullet. The bullet which I loaded was that special bullet. I didn't have to do some advanced math just to make sure that the bullet hit.

I pulled the trigger of that gun. The bolt of the rifle moved backward as the .50 BMG smart bullet was fired from the barrel of that rifle. The bullet penetrated the window on that building.

The bullet hit the person and left a grotesque mess that must be cleaned. The person would surely be dead just from that .50 BMG alone. The target was down.

"Alright. Good Job, Lima." Charlie poked my back and she grabbed her anti-materiel rifle and put it on her back.

She walked away from that rooftop and left me with many questions unanswered. She left the rooftop through and emerged stairs. The door was slammed.

The loneliness struck again. The cold wind of the night sky hit my face as I looked at the building which I shot. Sirens could be heard from afar. Many police vehicles were parked around that building. They won't find us since our rifle was suppressed.

There wasn't anyone on that roof. I put my hands on my balaclava and opened it up. The hot blaze immediately disappeared the cold winds hit my fave. The city lights were shining like fried Elise.

'Time to go home.'

The empty home. That place was where I lived. I sat down on the comfy couch as usual. The tv was turned on and I watched the evening news. The news was about the murder of the CEO of a multi-billion-dollar company. It was expected for the stock price of that company to go down significantly.

I had a notification about a bank transfer from my phone. Charlie had transferred 4,000$ at my armory system app. I smiled as I looked at the screen of my phone.

All I had to do was go to the bedroom and got some sleep. I walked up steaks to my bed. The white bed looked way whiter and way comfier than the usual.

My face hit the comfy pillow. I still wore my combat loadout since I was very tired to even change my loadout that evening. My eyes were closed immediately and I went to the dream world.

That morning was a usual morning. People were looking at me with hostile intentions and teachers were looking at me pitifully. It was quite sad since their profit only a spare of my total income. I didn't hesitate. There was no need to cause any more drama that might result in me being kidnapped and murdered again.

I sat down on the front of the classroom while my teacher was teaching me about math. The math was about paraboles. The parabole was a function that had X² in particular.

The function of that material only could be felt when I entered the tenth grade in senior high school. I just had to learn about differential and many other things s that were related to that material. The teacher eagerly taught us the subject.

I knew for a fact that this teacher, in particular, was a problematic teacher since she often scammed students to join her course. I didn't know what but anyone who joined her course would get a guaranteed 100 on their test.

"Alright students. Any question?" She packed her bag after she finished teaching us.

"No ma'am. Thanks for coming." The whole class said as she left the classroom with her bag on her back. The students took a very deep breath as the teacher left the room.

They were readying themselves for a fate worse than math. That fate was the next subject. The teacher had been waiting for the math teacher to leave the room. She immediately entered our room and without any hesitation, she gave us her command to open our book on a specific page.

"Alright, open page 123, about Newton law." I hadn't put away the math books yet. I pushed myself to the the the physics boom and put it on the table.

The teacher immediately subjected us to write more than 200 words about the application of Newton's third law. It was physics, not writing lessons. Nevertheless, teachers are always right and I had to obey her order.

The school ended at two o'clock as usual. The school was an eerie place like usual since I wasn't liked back then. I packed my bag and left my classroom. There wasn't anything left to be done and there wasn't anything that I need to do after school hours.

The thoughts of going to the bed were all I could think of right now. Last night was very tiring. Even getting involved in two contracts at once was excruciating, what will happen if there are more than three of them. I opened my armory system app.

[Bank Balance: 98,430$]

It wasn't that much, but it would suffice for my objective. I went back home using the bus as usual. The trip took thirty minutes. I immediately took off my shoes and ran to my bedroom.

However, as I walked inside the house, I noticed something odd. I smelled a smell that I would not fail to recognize. It was the smell of gunpowders and it was coming from upstairs.

Without any hesitation, I switched to my combat loadout and headed for the second floor. The smell of gunpowder was coming out of my room. There was something in front of my room. It was red and it was suspicious.

I walked to that door. A dead body was in front of my door. From the looks of it, he was a thief who was unlucky enough to trigger my automated defense system that was consisted of many turrets and cameras.

The nap was aborted. The schedule for that afternoon was digging a hole for the dead body. I quickly ran to the garage and grabbed a shovel. There was a backyard at my house, I could use that place to bury the dead person.

I dug a large hole for that dead body. I didn't want anyone to find a corpse inside of my house. I headed back for the second floor and dragged that dead body across the floor. I put the dead body inside of that burial site and covered it with dirt. There wouldn't be anyone suspecting that someone was buried there.

There shouldn't be any job. I immediately ran for my bed and I noticed something else. The blood trails were scattered around the whole house and it could lead to suspicion. I grabbed a bucket and a mop from the garage and filled it with water so I could clean the floor.

I started moping the floor side by side, front to back, and the small places which blood usually used to hide. I didn't want any evidence traced back to me. I washed my hands and made sure that there weren't any loose ends that could lead the police to me.

I looked around my room and looked at the machine gun turret that had shot the intruder. I looked like that the intruder didn't have any time to react to the turret in front of him. The turret was automated and it sprayed the Intruder's body with lead.

It was a good idea to put an automated heavy machine gun turret after all since I always brought a gun so I didn't have to put it in another room. The bed was looking comfier than usual. I immediately sink my head into the pillow and closed my eyes. I hope tomorrow will be a good day.
