208 Ambrosia Cartel: Part 15

The convoy consisted of three trucks accompanied by two SUVs. The SUVs were filled with Ambrosia cartel members. There was no way in hell they could stop the convoy quietly unless someone decided that bombing Mexico with EMP was a good idea. Lynn put the railgun in front of her shoulder. She aimed the railgun right at the convoy.

Patrick also did the same thing, but they aimed at a different car. Lynn aimed at the car that was leading the convoy and Patrick was aiming at the car that was located in the back of the convoy. The scope of the railgun was the same thermal combo that HSDC used for its night vision goggles. It would make the vision green and highlight any hot object with yellow color.

"On my mark," Lynn switched the safety button of the railgun.

"Fire!" Lynn whispered.

The railguns were fired at the SUVs. That SUV was destroyed in the process. The energy that the railgun gave to the SUV was so huge that one of them was thrown away in the process. The railgun made quite a large explosion and sparks along the way. It over penetrated the SUV and damaged one of the trucks in that convoy.

"Patrick, check the truck that is on the back of the convoy. Here are the C4s. Destroy it!" Lynn ran to the first truck and attached a package of C4 into the body of the truck. Lynn placed six blocks in total. Patrick ran to the truck that was located at the back of the convoy. He attached six packages of C4 at the back of the truck.

The truck in the middle would be taken by them to the HSDC main base. That truck was said to be containing very important stuff for the cartel. Ambrosia would think that this was a regular cartel attack and they would be pissed. However, they would only find out a little amount of evidence.]

Ambrosia had known that they sent cargos to Matamoros's territory. It was expected if the cargo was hit since those two were rivals. Patrick ran to the middle truck. The driver of those trucks didn't fight back. They had run away into the wilderness the moment they saw the SUVs blew up right in front of their eyes.

Lynn approached the truck in the middle. They wanted to drive away from the convoy, but the radio in the middle of the truck had already said something in Spanish. The audio chatter was about helicopters or something. They knew that they had to fight back. There's no way they could escape with a helicopter on their tail.

"Delta to MB. We have an incoming hostile air force. Requesting support!" Patrick said as he got out of the car and aimed his railgun at the sky. He looked for any heat signature on the air. It would most likely be the helicopter that the cartel used to track them down. Shooting down a helicopter with the railgun would be quite an easy task.

[INCOMING SUPPORT UNIT. STAND BY FOR TARGET MARKING.]

[TARGET MARKING]

Once Patrick pressed the button, a map appeared in the hologram projection from the PDA. It showed him the location of each and every target. The target was shown using a red circle. However, three of those dots were shown as a red helicopter on the PDA.

Patrick pressed one of the red helicopters that were in the hologram projection of the PDA. The map closed down as the airstrike was in progression. The sound of the jet blast could be heard from the ground where Patrick was standing. After that, an explosion could be heard from the sky.

"Commander, Target is destroyed. Standing by for the next target," A pilot said from that PDA.

Patrick noticed that one of the helicopters was inside of the range of his railgun scope. He only had to find the helicopter in the sky and shoot it down. It sounded very simple, but in practice, he even didn't know the altitude of the helicopter. The night sky also made it difficult since the clouds gave a good cover for the thermal sight.

"Got you!"

Patrick noticed a trail of exhaust in the sky. It was most likely to be coming from the helicopter that the cartel used. Patrick fired a round at the flying helicopter. Immediately, debris was falling from the sky as if God decided to rain the Earth with metals.

"Commander, there's a car coming from your west!"

There was a car coming from the west direction. It was full of cartel gunmen. They might think that the commanders were the Matamoros cartel that suddenly had the nerve to hit the biggest cartel organization of the entire world. But well, these are the commanders from the HSDC that would destroy them to pieces.

Patrick looked at the thermal scope of his railgun. The target kept going faster and faster in their SUV. Patrick pulled the trigger of the railgun and the car exploded in midway. The thermal displayed a burning car that was located from afar.

"Commander, we're ready for another target."

Patrick marked all of the helicopters by pressing it. He pressed the button to confirm the air support.

"All targets are confirmed, commander. Beginning attack."

An explosion could be heard from the air. There were two explosions in total. All two helicopters were downed from the sky. The burning pieces were the remnants of the helicopter that fell to the ground. Those burning pieces came down to the ground.

[TACTICAL ORDER AVAILABLE]

"Escort us to the airport. Out."

Patrick entered the truck that was stopped in the middle of the road. They drove to the airport. It was quite a smooth ride since every single damn thing that against their way was bombed by the air support that was coming from the Main Base combat platform. Yes, a Tu-160 bomber came just for the sake of helping the commanders retrieving a beat-up truck.

They drove the truck into the airport where the weaponry was given to Matamoros. However, the Matamoros had gone with their weaponry that was paid in cash for the HSDC. Patrick entered the airport and drove to the place where the C-17 was parked. They entered the aircraft and the cargo door closed. The mission was a great success. They would return to the base shortly.

Monday, 10th of August 2021. HSDC Command Platform. Command Center. 0600 Hours.

"Morning, Patrick, Lynn," Nathan sipped his first glass of coffee in the morning. He sat down on a chair that was located in the middle of the command center. It was Stacy's chair though. For no apparent reason besides visibility, he just sat down on Stacy's chair.

"Morning. I haven't sleep," Patrick said.

"I see." Nathan sipped his cup of coffee and displayed a dot in the Amazon region on Stacy's computer screen. It was the place where the signal was coming from. It was the signal that received the messages and transcriptions from the HSDC main base if those two weren't apprehended.

It meant that the commanders would have another job. However, Nathan suggested something that actually made sense for once. This time, the commanders wouldn't have to do the heavy lifting. The combat team would be the one that did the heavy lifting. They had quite the muscle and strength to infiltrate the Amazon safely.

"A Batallion sized unit has been dispatched there. You might be surprised that Brazil allowed us to operate there," Nathan said.

Patrick and Lynn sighed. They had eye bags inside of their eye bags. "Yes, Yes, do whatever you and Herring want," Lynn said as Patrick fell to the ground. He wasn't dead, only snoring on the floor of the command center. It was embarrassing, but it pictured how sleepy he was.

"See you then."

Lynn carried Patrick on her back and she walked out of the command center. Their destination was the living quarter that was located close to the command center. The living quarter that was located near the command center was exclusive for the high-ranking members of the HSDC and some VIP due to the amount of accommodation that it gave.

Lynn pushed the thick glass door of the living quarter. Lynn also couldn't hold his sleepiness. Her eyes felt very heavy as if someone had tied it down with some heavyweight. Lynn lost her consciousness and she also fell to the ground with Patrick sleeping above him. Both of them slept in the lobby of the living quarter.

The commanders would notice it soon, but they would just let those lovey-dovey couple sleeping on the cold floor of the lobby instead of the warm bed. Well, they were still in their combat uniform and their dirty boots. It would be unpleasant to put them inside of the bedroom.
