207 Ambrosia Cartel: Part 14

"He'll be processed later." Stacy closed the door of that scary room known as Room 101. People that came to that room were interrogated. They would be pressed to give intelligence to the HSDC until they either die or succumb to the HSDC.

Usually, they would get the intelligence from sound logs that were recorded. The recorded logs were usually put inside of the SD card which could hold a decent amount of files. Patrick and Lynn walked out of the hallway. The main road in that platform wasn't as crowded as the one that was in the manufacturing or logistic platform.

"How's our guest?" Lynn asked.

"Herring? Well, Nathan takes him for a tour," Stacy said.

"Tour across the base?" Patrick asked.

"Yup," Stacy answered.

There wasn't any emergency mission lately. The commanders were relaxed as of now since none of them actually had something important to do besides managing their bases. Most of the ground operations were handled by the combat team lately. They were very capable of doing covert operations and such. They were usually sent to spy into the enemy's territory.

Still, their area of operation as Latin America and Africa with some addition of the middle east. They didn't send a spy to U.S or Russian since both of those countries were allies of the HSDC. Patrick was still in close contact with Marinka. Lynn was still in close contact with Herring as well. One could decide that those two were actually had the same age. It would be a whole family if Marinka decided to marry Herring, but it was not going to happen.

Three of them entered Lynn's car and they drove to the R&D platform. Their purpose in coming there was to test new experimental weaponry. It was said that the weapon was an improvement over the regular anti-materiel rifle. Patrick couldn't figure out what was being used, but he had a feeling that the R&D team produced something very useful. It was said that the weapon would be replacing the TAC-50 or any bolt-action anti-materiel rifle in general.

The R&D platform itself was located between the intelligence platform and the manufacturing platform. Usually, the manufacturing platform would be given a new blueprint by the R&D platform. Their latest innovation was an APFSDS ammunition that could be used in the M4 Carl Gustav recoilless rifle.

That ammunition had been distributed to the American SF unit and it was well-received by them. That ammunition was expensively made although they produced it at a significantly cheaper cost than the usual carl Gustav ammunition that the SF unit usually used. However, the result was very good, it penetrated some of the parts that an HE round couldn't.

The three commanders stood in front of Aiden and the weapon boxes behind them. The weapon boxes contained the PRL-140 railgun. It was the first generation of portable railgun that could be used by infantry units. The 15mm railgun would penetrate any armor that was not considered to be too tanky.

In short, that weapon would have the same penetration to at least a recoilless rifle if not more since it produced much energy. It would catachrestically damage any optic of a tank since it could penetrate a thin armor without any problem. The ammunition was made from tungsten with a length of 10 cm. It was similar to a dart that was packed inside of a magazine.

"Damn, that's one hell of an ammunition," Patrick said as he opened one of the weapon containers that contained one of the magazines. The magazine of the railgun was very long, maybe around 20 centimeters in length. The ammunition box was integrated with the battery of the railgun. It was a Palladium powered battery that could capacitate enough electricity for the railgun to fire. The rail of the gun itself was housed inside of a polymer housing.

It would ensure that the rail wouldn't be dirtied by the mud or dust. The end of the barrel would be automatically close by a mechanism when the gun was not fired. However, this gun wouldn't be able to be used underwater since its reliance on electricity. In short, this gun was only for the army, not the navy.

However, according to Aiden, the R&D team was developing a technology that would evaporate all of the unknown element that entered the barrel of the railgun. So far, the technology hadn't been prototyped due to the difficulties in finding the right power source to power the element evaporator. Even the palladium battery wasn't enough to power the element evaporator.

The rail of the gun was made from special carbon. It would withstand any temperature that would evaporate any element that entered the railgun. That was why the Polymer casing was very thick. The polymer casing was mixed with carbon so it had an ability to withstand extreme temperature, but still maintaining it is light and isolator properties.

"Ok, Aiden, that's enough. One question, can this thing kill a tank?" Patrick asked.

"No."

"Ok, can this thing kill a BMP?" Patrick asked again.

"It will kill everyone inside. Never underestimate the power of a railgun." Aiden pressed the safety button of the railgun and there was some electronic sound that temporarily disabled Patrick's PDA. The rail of the railgun was charged. Aiden walked to the edge of the R&D platform and pointed his hand at the sea.

"There's a buoy on the sea. I'll fire at it." Aiden pulled the trigger of the railgun and a sound that was similar to an electronic discharge could be heard. The ammunition was fired at the buoy and it created a very large explosion that could be seen from the R&D platform itself.

"HOLY SHIT! YOU SAID IT CAN'T KILL A TANK," Lynn shouted at him.

"It can't because the projectile would be disintegrated by the time it hit the tank. We couldn't find a strong enough material for the projectile." Aiden looked at the buoy that had been destroyed to pieces. The buoy was no longer could be seen from afar. It was simply destroyed by the railgun.

"There should be a test ride, isn't it?" Stacy asked.

The intelligence team stole the tech for the battery from Russia and the railgun prototype itself from America. Those two gave the greatest contribution to the railgun. The railgun was put inside of the weapon container again.

"There's an armed convoy located in New Mexico. Your job is to stop the convoy in the middle of the San Fernando Matamoros. This is a job requested by the Mexican government itself. This should be simple and easy," Aiden said.

"Hmm, I'm supposed to be the one who said that," Stacy said.

"Whatever. There's a C-17 Globemaster waiting in the upper deck. You jump to that area. No combat uniform! Dress as a cartel!" Stacy said.

"Wait… What?"

The C-17 was carrying cargo for the Matamoros Cartel. The content was weaponry. Weirdly enough, it was the cargos that the CIA requested to be delivered to Mexico. Well, Herring requested it personally. Matamoros was also one of the cartels that were against the Ambrosia Cartel.

They were our enemy's enemy, but not our friend, only acquaintances. The cargo would be dropped at General Servando Canares international airport. It contained only basic launcher and weaponry like the AK-74 for the cartel. However, their main mission was to hit the cargo as per the request of the CIA to cut down the supply lines for Ambrosia.

Lynn and Patrick were standing by at the door of that C-17 Globemaster. They were getting ready to jump from the airplane. They only had to be waiting for the green light to turn on so they could jump. Both of them were wearing denim pants and a long cargo shirt. They dressed in a half-face balaclava with a skull symbol.

"GREEN IS ON! GREEN IS ON!" The plane door opened and two of them jumped from the airplane.

Both of them were equipped with railguns. The ammunition was loaded and ready to be fired upon. They opened the parachute at a very low altitude. It was a HALO jump. They landed at a grassland located next to the highway. The parachute was burned once they landed on the ground. The parachute wouldn't leave any trace nor any dust.

They laid down near the highway in their clothing that had the same color as the grass. All they had to do was to wait until the convoy. They laid down on the ground until the convoy drove past them.

"Delta. Tango is en route."
