"Go fix that and I will go make them food" we both laughed and went off to do our separate jobs. I was placing food on the triplet‟s high chairs when John walked into the kitchen wearing only low slung sweat pants. I looked at him appreciably, Lord, he was HOT.
"What‟s for breakfast mom," he said in a baby voice sitting at the table. I laughed and place a cup of coffee in front of him. His face lit up like a kid at Christmas, it was adorable.
"You want food; you have to get it yourself," I said in my strict mammy voice. He looked at me slightly amused and he glinted the same thing he had in his eyes last night. I turned away and busied myself feeding the triplets, who had attempted to feed themselves.
They weren't doing very well. While I was cleaning honey off the ceiling, if you have children you will understand how it got up there, when I realized that the triplets were about twenty months old. Almost two years old.
The thought scared me slightly, I want sure if I wanted them to grow up. Don‟t get me wrong, I cannot wait for the day when they wouldn't need me to take them to the toilet, bathe them, feed them and dress them all the time, but the idea that I have been a mom for so long cared me.
Where had all the time gone? Last night John and I had decided that today we're all going to spend the day as a family. It was the best day I had had in years.
John and Olivia had to go to a lawyer‟s office to hear the will of some relative that they had never heard of. John thought that it was funny that some old person that he has never met had left him something. Olivia thought that it was cool. I and the triplets decided to take the day off, and have some shopping fun.
When we were grabbing lunch, I spotted Jett. He looked up and noticed me looking at him, smiled, and walked over. "Wow, Amelia Smith. Haven‟t seen you in what a year?" Jett said, his voice was annoying as ever. "Yeah, hi Jett," I said, hoping that he wouldn't want to have a great big long conversation.
"Yeah, rumors went around that you were pregnant when you left" Was he a complete idiot? Did he get stupider? I was six months pregnant with triplets when I left, I was hard to miss.
I looked down at the triplets, "Yeah I was pregnant" He followed my vision and I saw him visibly freeze when he saw my kids. "You had three of them? Wow, talk about a tough break."
"Yeah, it wasn't that bad." We stood there in awkward silence for a few minutes. "Look, Jett, it was great seeing you but I guess I should be going" I started to walk off, but a hand grabbed my shoulder.
