Chapter 227: Answer

When Aimy and Olivia heard Shane's views about them, they were happy. Though the fact that Shane hadn't denied that they were weak had disheartened them a little. However, the trust he was willing to put in them was enough to wash away this sourness.

Nevertheless, they were unsure of what to think about Shane's offer because they had never expected to receive something like that, even less at such a young age.

There were many human guilds, factions, and places called 'Mission-halls' where many people used to gather for multiple purposes.

One was to create large, coordinated hunting groups, while another purpose could be to team up with other people in order to solve system missions together.

Other than that, the government periodically sent out requests to Guild, Factions, and Mission halls to solve all kinds of issues in shelters if there was no military unit left to come to their aid.

This happened quite often and the government issued these requests for trivial matters such as overpopulation of a certain beast group.

Adding the fact that rich merchants, companies, or nobles could hand out missions to acquire or kill something too, there were always enough things for everyone to do.

While 'Mission halls' was a get-together of strangers, a Guild could be said to be a circle of acquaintances.

Meanwhile, factions could be said to be on a completely different level and comparable to families that took care of each other.

This was also the main reason why Shane wanted Aimy and Olivia in the faction he would create soon.

There was no need to create a huge faction with several hundred thousand members, but it would be enough if everyone could rely on each other.

In the future, once he created his own faction, Shane wanted the faction members to be nice to each other, support every single member to their best extent while using their utmost efforts to become stronger, richer, or better at whatever they were doing.

As long as he laid out a good foundation, there shouldn't be anything going wrong and Shane was confident that Aimy and Olivia would be an important part of this foundation.

While both Aimy and Olivia were thinking carefully about Shane's offer which was what he hoped for, Aisha looked at him with squinted eyes.

'Won't he invite me too? Hello??? I'm also here?' She shouted in her mind but somehow didn't dare to ask it out loud, thinking that it would only hurt her pride.

Shane could tell how twisted Aisha's emotions were by looking at her facial expressions that flinched once in a while.

Sighing, he began to wonder where the level-headed Aisha had disappeared

"Aisha, I won't invite you, isn't that obvious? You have your own responsibilities with the Valkyrie unit and the military. What would Uncle Lars say if I were to lure you over...I don't even want to imagine what he would do to me...that's just too scary!"

Smiling dryly, Aisha couldn't help but feel good that Shane hadn't simply forgotten her and that he had a reason to not ask her to join his faction.

However, she couldn't deny that she was not disappointed when she saw that Aimy and Olvia, who she trained for a few weeks, had been invited.

'That's only because of this stupid warmth I feel when I'm around Shane...why can't my body feel as uncomfortable around Shane as it does with almost everyone else???'

If she were to be honest with herself, the thought didn't really annoy her but that her mind was influenced by this thought proved that the cold and brutal leader of the most ferocious clan was more feminine than she accepted to be.

Among the Valkyries, she was called the Ice Goddess or Devilish Ice Princess and probably was conferred with many more names but in the end, she was plain uncomfortable with others touching her. Additionally, she was normally more disciplined, using the most difficult training methods to strengthen the Valkyries.

This was to prevent them from dying in dangerous situations as it had happened way too often already.

She didn't want to lose anymore Valkyries than she already did in the basic dimension.

Their journey had just begun and the true dangers would come in the intermediate and advanced dimension which was the most important reason for her to train everyone with her fullest capabilities.

However, with Shane, she could be the girl she had never been. He seemed to emanate a certain warmth and comfort that would make her forget the discomfort and repulsive reaction she had when someone came in touch with her. She was able to be a regular girl without any responsibilities weighing on her shoulders.

Aisha couldn't tell whether she hated this side of herself or not, but it was obvious that she behaved differently around him than under normal circumstances.

While Aisha was deep in thoughts similar to Aimy and Olivia, Shane decided to message the Corvi merchant he had received the first contract.

Unfortunately, this contract only included [Trash] and [Common] Nightshade flowers which were not enough for Shane anymore.

As such, he proposed a new contract, but a permanent one that included all types of qualities of Nightshade flowers.

Shane didn't expect to receive an answer soon, but surprisingly he received a message almost immediately

<SIR!! Earlier, you conned me and now you want to make a new PERMANENT contract? Sir wants to trick me again???>

'The Corvi merchant's assistant is really good at holding a grudge….' Shane could only think as he replied

<You could have just written that you don't need a steady supply of Common, Uncommon, and even Rare Nightshade flowers...That's fine with me too. I guess I'll have to look out for other merchants.>

His message was nothing but the simple truth, but when the Corvi merchant's assistant read the message, the female Corvi couldn't help but jump out of the chair she sat on.

'Steady supply....'

<Sir Orus, I apologize for my earlier behavior, I just felt like I was deceived before. I'm truly sorry! May I ask how many Nightshade flowers sir can supply steadily….and if sir has any unscathed Nightshade flower roots Sir doesn't need, we would purchase them too! The price we can offer sir will definitely be satisfying!>

When he saw that the Corvi assistant merchant wanted his Nightshade flower roots too, Shane could tell that duplicating Nightshade flowers was a good idea.

He was still unaware of how exactly this would be possible, but it was good to know that he was on the right track!

<I'm sorry to say this, but I won't sell any Nightshade flower roots, and the reason is quite obvious, right? During the next few months, the supply of Nightshade flowers will be in the thousands, but it should be clear that I can provide more with each harvest, right? As long as your race is trying to break out of its current stellar system, trying to inhabit new planets, Nightshade flowers are the basic necessity, right?

The same should apply for basic dimensions without any darkness transmuted mana too.

In that sense, having a merchant who can supply lots of good quality Nightshade flowers in the future shouldn't be bad>

On the other side of the holographic screen, the female Corvi merchant assistant didn't know what to do…

Even after reading through Shane's message multiple times, she couldn't form a perfect reply so she turned to her boss for help. In the end, she didn't have the authority to make such big deals that involved a permanent contract.

Meanwhile, Shane couldn't help but become curious about the price for unscathed Nightshade flower roots and how to detect them.

As such he accessed the Primordial Shop where he took a look at the prices.

'Wooooow!'

Shane could barely contain himself as he thought about the 10,000 Nightshade flower roots he had left inside the Shadow-snake valley after Umbra had asked him to do so.

'One [Trash] Nightshade flower root is worth 50 gold coins...what the hell? And there are only a few sold for 50 gold coins too….'

He was about to cry, thinking that he had left behind more than 500,000 gold coins in the Shadow snake valley as he began to wonder why nobody acquired the Nightshade flowers before him if they were so valuable.

As such, he began to research how he could decipher an unscathed Nightshade flower, and whether there were certain vital points he had to pay attention to. Maybe there was even a way to divide an unscathed Nightshade flower without damaging it!

In the end, this was easier said than done, but half an hour later he was finally able to tell the difference.

Entering the Hidden Paradise with his mind, he could take a detailed look at the three planted Nightshade flower roots at the [Trash] quality.

'These are not unscathed ones… but why did they regrow then? Did I demolish the unscathed ones the first time I entered the Shadow-snake-valley or were they already a little bit damaged?'

However, after he took a look at the [Trash] quality Nightshade flower root, he inspected the other ones that were inside his spatial ring.

Skipping through the [Rare] and [Uncommon] quality roots that were the most important for his plan to duplicate them, Shane could tell that their roots were unscathed.

This overjoyed Shane but caused him to come back to the question, why nobody else acquired those roots.

'Maybe it was too dangerous and once hunters saw that the [Trash] quality roots were not unscathed, they gave up on fighting against the Colossal Darkness python only to acquire 'damaged' Nightshade flower roots at a higher quality?'

In the end, Shane didn't have to think about it because it was not important.

The unscathed, high-quality Nightshade flower roots were in his possession and the only thing he had to figure out was a way to use them to duplicate the Nightshade flowers without damaging its roots! With that, he could duplicate them endlessly and increase his Nightshade flower farm, even before he even planted them!

Shane couldn't help but feel happy that he found a lead to work on duplicating Nightshade flowers.

As such, he didn't even notice that Aimy and Olivia gave him their final answer to the offer he proposed to them.

Still absent-minded, Shane started to take a look at the items he required in order to catch the Lesser Starlet Fox.

The prices for each item he would probably need were expensive but the reward would be even better. Furthermore, he would be able to reuse lots of items as long as he was able to supply them with his own mana or mana stones.

Only a few one-time goods would be used up, but Shane was sure that he could cope with that.

Suddenly, he received a message from the Corvi merchant assistant, while Aimy and Olivia who had approached him began to shout his name

"SHANEEE!!!! Why don't you listen to us if you want to hear our answer to your offer????"

Dragged out of his deep thoughts, Shane couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed as he asked,

"And what's the final answer??"

"We accept your offer...but only under two conditions!!"
