"I guess our leader had briefed you that we would be infiltrating the Church in Fenton and to take away all their gold and valuable stuff, am I right? I am here with you guys for tonight's operations to infiltrate, sabotage and rob all of their valuables which they had seized from the settlers."
"The Church had amassed a fortune by collecting taxes higher than it should be and had declared only a certain amount to the Sheriff of Nottingham. They wanted to get richer quick in this way and had also sized the lands and declare them as their own."
"How do you feel when you had to sweat blood and tears and in the end, all your earnings had been taken away from you just for the sake of using the Sheriff's name?"
I asked the group of Assassins that had gathered around for the meeting. This is not to incite them but to make them realise what the heinous crimes the Church had done now and before since the death of my father
"It is not fair, Ma'am. How can we work till our deaths and give all the earning to the ones who never even lift a finger to do all the labour? Sir Robin or any of the captains never do that, and still being able to provide us with shelter and 3 square meals per day."
"Yes, Ma'am... We were not required to pay any of our meals no matter how simple or sumptuous it may be, but we made sure that even a paltry 2 coppers as a token could not even cover the basic ingredients for a single meal."
"I am glad that you understand how generous and big-hearted our leader is and most of all, he tried to make things simple and worthwhile for you. He may be a simple happy go lucky kind of person, but from the insides, no one would know what he was scheming for the benefits of all."
"Alright, we put these aside first. The most important is to get inside the perimeter and into the Church compound without getting noticed. I have learnt part of the Assassins skills and I have upgraded myself as an Assassin Warrior. We will move out by 12 midnight and perform the task and head back here."
"From what we understand, there should be no casualties from that town at all. It is a simple break-in and leaves. Everyone has their storage bags and we would dump everything inside it."
"Don't forget to mix those loot together with your personal stuff, ok? It would be best to leave your storage bags empty in case of a mix-up."
"Yes, Ma'am. From tonight's operations, we won't be calling you Ma'am, but we will call you Red Leader instead. This is a call sign for you on offline operations. During the movement, you would be assigned as Red One during online operations. Would that be alright, Red Leader?"
"It sounds splendid, alright, we clear out our storage and be moving out by midnight. Catch up with you soon. Red Leader, out." I said as I left the Assassins group to prepare for the infiltration tonight and I was glad that I was given a call sign since I had not gotten used to being called Ma'am here and there.

"Red One here, we had reached the perimeter of the Church and its a 10-foot wall that we need to clear from here. Everyone take their positions and proceed on my count. G O...." thought myself and everyone responded by leaning against the high wall, flattening their bodies as close as possible and deftly climb the vertical wall.
This was made possible by their climbing claws that were reversible over their standard-issue Legendary Class leather gloves. We scaled the wall within seconds and once the area seems to be clear, we scaled down the other side, our feet landing on the ground soundlessly like a cat on the prowl.

"Ok guys, we have made into the perimeter, we now need to locate the Church and see anyway to enter through it." I thought as I half crouched and used the shadows to hide my form.

"Red One, we have located the Church, zero activity around it."
"Red One, we have 2 entrances here. One is a small opening near the kitchen and another is a locked trapdoor. One of us is picking in the lock to see where it leads to."
I slipped past the alleyway of the nobles' houses and reached the perimeter of the Church. There was no street lights and no guards around and everything seemed as dead as the night. I followed an Assassin through a small opening behind the kitchen that was meant to be used as a kind of ventilation. The stained glass windows were permanently fixed to the stone walls.
'Red One, the trapdoor lock had been picked and 2 Assassins are entering them now to check what was inside there."
"Yeah...I'm inside the kitchen area now. Heading towards the hallway and looking for the basement. Heres a door, better use my preventive measures." I said when I was bearing the exit of the kitchen and a wooden heavy set door stood in my way.
I retrieved a small can of WD40 and squirted the hinges so it won't creak when I try to open it and after a few seconds, the door was open with total silence. "It worked...!!" I thought to myself as I half crouched and crept silently through the hallway.
It was a typical Church set up with pews, chandeliers, altars and such. A separate path opens up leading to the upper floors where the Church members would be sleeping, I guess. The space behind the altar was big and there was a black curtain covering the wall.
I slowly crept there and peered at the thick curtain and I found that there is a secret door behind it. "I've found an opening behind the altar. I'm going in."
"Roger that, Red One. We are still searching for other entrances. The trap door that leads to the basement has only grains stored in there. Nothing valuable"
I heard those voices ring in my head as clearly as if they were talking right beside me. I felt around the door for some kind of handle and I found it to be shackled with a large iron padlock.
I took my lock pick kit and began to fumble with the keyhole and after 10 seconds I manage to release the locking mechanism. I set the large padlock on the ground behind the altar and I sprayed the WD40 on the hinges once more to stop it from creaking.
The door opened inwards and my eyes soon adjusted to the gloom within. A spiral staircase leads downwards and tiptoes through it.
"I'm at the basement here. There's an iron grill that looks like a prison chamber here. There's a lot of chests here too." I thought to myself and within a minute 4 Assassins were with me.
I proceeded to spray the hinges of the so-called prison chamber with WD40 and slowly unlatch it and pulled the gate open. Just as I had suspected, not only there were gold and silvers, but other precious gems as well and many other gold items such as goblets, plates, cutlery and all those cumbersome items, even a spectre and a crown was there too.
"Just the coins and jewels, guys. Leave the rest." I instructed as I began to stuff my storage bags with coins and jewels and we try to keep it as silent as possible. 5 of us worked silently while 2 were guarding the entrance of the basement, and another 2 were guarding the entrance of the hallway that leads to the sleeping chambers. The rest were deployed at the perimeter to warn us of any danger.
After stuffing chests of coins and jewels, the 4 Assassins left and replaced with another 4 to spread out the load. By 30 minutes, we had not left a single dirty old coin or a dusty jewel anywhere.
"Let's go..." I thought as I left a yellow Post It sticker on one of the chests with a smiley face on it and slowly closed the iron gates of the so-called prison. I walked up the stairwell and reached the entrance behind the altar.
The lock was replaced and I made my way towards the kitchen where I had entered when I heard a low thud and a muffled groan from inside. I saw a Church member dressed in a light brown robe and was lying down on the floor.
"Don't worry, I knocked him out." said an Assassin even before the question is being raised. "Quick, we have 60 seconds before he regains consciousness and raises the alarm.
The rest of the Assassins had cleared the wall and dropped on the other side while 2 were accompanying me as I quickly swing myself on the wall and over it, landing on the other side with a low thud.
"Maybe what Robin said is true, I have to stop snacking and I'm kind of heavy on the middle part already. How to be an assassin like this?" I thought to myself and didn't realise that rest were still in telepathy and could hear every single word I thought.
"Red One, don't worry... Practise the way if an Assassin for another month and you would be like a sleek cat prowling on top of a wall."
"Yes, Red One... Fuse your energy into your metabolism so that you can snack anytime you like and not gain an ounce."
We activated cruising along and soon reached our Camp in less than 15 minutes. Meanwhile back at the Church in Fenton, an alarm was raised for intruder alert and soon lights were lit, floodlights scanned the exterior surroundings but had found nothing, not even a single trace of an intrusion. After a round of inspection, they had found no traces of break-in but wait till they find out after daybreak!
We reached Camp and safely and deposited all the loot into one storage bag that I carry, congratulated everyone and proceed to rest inside the hearth like as if nothing has happened through the night.
I went over to Robin and kissed him on his forehead and his eyes fluttered open. "I'm back, silly boy. Mission accomplished."
"Thank you, lovely. We would check on the loot and the hoohaa news tomorrow at daybreak," said Robin as he snuggled beside me, his arms hooked into mine as he lay there sleeping and I was sitting there hugging my knees as I try to steady my nerves after that rush of adrenaline.
