"Hey, what's wrong?" Kyle asked, feeling fl.u.s.tered by Anna who is currently gasping for air. He doesn't know what to do.
"T-the s-snacks had s-something on it t-that t-triggered my a-allergy." Even speaking is hard for Anna. She knows for sure that it is her allergy that is making her like this, but she could not understand how is that possible. She knows that these snacks are made by her nanny Tess, and her nanny Tess knows that she has an allergy to strawberries, and it is also clear to her that there is a mix of strawberry power that is used to the snack.
How is it possible for her nanny Tess put that powder in there?
"Kyle!" Marcus called out Kyle's name. "Don't just sit there and help me find Anna's medicine." Marcus is frantic, but he still has his rational thinking straight. He won't let his mind gets distracted and quickly find Anna's medicine.
Without further ado, Kyle immediately stood up ad helped Marcus search for Anna's medicine. After half a minute later, Marcus and Kyle finally found it and quickly injected it into one of Anna's veins.
Anna felt a slight pain from the injection, but she could feel that it is working; her breathing is slowly starting to get stable. She could also feel Kyle's grip on her hand, and this made her feel safe. She tightly grips Kyle's had back as if she is saying to him that she is now okay.
Despite Anna's little assurance that she is now okay, Kyle still feels uneasiness in him because he could still see the redness in Anna's skin. That redness made her look like she got burned from hot boiling water.
"I could tell that you trust Anna's nanny, but seeing that this is happening I think you should reevaluate your trust on her," Kyle said this out of anger and worry; he knows that he has no right to tell Marcus that because Anna's nanny has been working for the Colemans for a long time now, and trusting her is normal. But he can't help but doubt the motive of Anna's nanny.
Marcus was about to say something, but Anna spoke in a firm tone, "This is not Mamita's doing. Don't blame my mamita." Anna knows that the snacks were baked by her mamita, but she is sure that her mamita won't hurt her. 'Someone must be scheming against my mamita and me.'
"Who else am I gonna blame for this? Your grandfather said that your nanny made these snacks, so in my conclusion, I think it's her fault." Kyle might not know who is Anna's nanny, but he can't help it if he blames her. After all, all he could think about right now is Anna's well being.
"Kyle, you should calm down. There must be a reason for all this to happen. Don't blame Tess right away until we questioned her." Marcus said. Usually, Marcus would get when someone tries to blame the head maid since he knows that Tess would never do such a thing, but Kyle is only blaming Tess out of Anna's safety.
Noticing that whatever he says won't matter since Anna and Marcus are convinced that Anna's nanny never did this, Kyle shuts his mouth and waited for Marcus' next action.
Moments later, Marcus called out all the workers who were working at the kitchen earlier including the maid who brought them the snacks. Tess was there and a worried expression was plastered on her face when she saw the redness on Anna's skin.
Tess hurried went beside Anna and gently caress her skin. "You allergy. H-how did that happened?" The last time Tess had seen Anna's skin like is when she was still a little toddler. The little Anna at that time was always curious about things, and when she saw a strawberry on a plate, she shoves it in her mouth without hesitation.
Anna's allergic reaction back then was so severe that Anna was sent to the hospital. That time was one of the most horror memory engraved in the Coleman mansion; the Coleman family almost lost their princess just because of one innocent fruit.
Ever since then, strawberries are banned inside the residence, if one were caught bringing some strawberry products that can be eaten inside the mansion, it's either they get removed from their job or punish for them not listening to one simple rule.
Kyle who was beside Anna, observed the head maid worrying about Anna's condition. From what he sees, it looks like Tess truly cares about Anna. There was no hint of fakeness, and that is when Kyle realized that he made a big mistake accusing her.
Kyle decided to apologize later because, at the moment, he wants to know the culprit for Anna's condition. Kyle glared at the rest of the workers who are currently lowering their heads. They looked scared and awkward except for one maid who's posture seems to be very confident.
He squinted his eyes in suspicion; it's the same maid who brought the snacks to them and was unwilling to leave earlier.
"Now tell me, who is the idiotic moron who tried to kill my granddaughter?" Marcus asked with a hint of anger in his tone. Anna's allergy reaction is severe and it could really kill her if not injected by her medicine in time. The first time her allergy reacted the doctor said that it was a miracle, but the second time won't be a miracle not unless the medicine are injected right away.
The maid from earlier bravely spoke when no one is willing to speak, "Elder master, we dare not to harm the young miss. Everyone who works here knows that any products of strawberries are not allowed inside the mansion." The maid made it sound like she is scared and being honest, but Kyle can sense that she is faking it.
"I dare to say, elder master that it was the head main Tess who baked the snacks. Why is that were the only ones getting interrogated at." The maid made it sound like they were being treated unfairly, and her tactic is working; the other workers felt resentment towards the head maid who is being favored by the Colemans.
The maid has two reasons for doing this scheme: the first reason is that she wants to harm Anna, and the second reason is that she wants the head maid to be removed so that her aunt who is also working here can become the head maid and she would have an easy life working in the Coleman residence.
