"Such nonsense!" Tess said in an enraged tone, "I would never dare to hurt the child whom I treated like my own!"
Tess treated Anna and her brothers like her own flesh and blood. The first time she got here in the Coleman mansion, she was assigned to be the twins' nanny; she fell in love with them at first sight. She was 30 years old when she first met them, and since then she dedicated all her love and attention to the twins; never once consider getting herself married.
Accusing her that she harmed her precious Anna is the most ridiculous thing she has ever heard. If she wanted to harm Anna, then she would have done it a long time ago as she was all alone with the twins most of the time.
"Head maid Tess, are you saying that it's one of us workers who put something on the snacks that you made? None of us touched the snacks before and after you made the snacks." The maid said as she smirks inwardly. She knows that what she just said is something that Tess could not refute because earlier Tess was the only one working on making the snacks and everyone in the kitchen knows that. There is no witness that someone tampered on the ingredients.
The reason why no one knows that someone tampered with the ingredients is because last night she mixed some strawberry powder to the flour that Tess usually use to make Anna's favorite snacks. The strawberry powder was light pink and when she mixed it with pure white flour, no one could even notice that it is there.
In her perspective, her plan is well thought and that no one will ever think that she is the one who did such a scheme against Anna and Tess.
One by one the other workers nodded in agreement that they did not notice anybody else other than Tess working on making the snacks. Majority votes that this is all done by Tess, and that no one is a suspect other than Tess.
With that many agreeing that Tess did it, it's obvious that Marcus should punish or remove Tess. But there is a part of him that is not agreeing with all this accusation that is pointing towards the woman is practically raised the heir and the heiress of the Coleman family.
Kyle noticed that Marcus is not saying anything and that he is having seconds thought on wanting to believe what the maid just said. Kyle just stood there and observe everything that he hears and sees.
The maid who has been bravely speaking with full of confidence in her words is starting to irritate Kyle. Kyle's sense of hearing and seeing fake people are sharp; he knew right away that the maid had something to do with Anna's condition right now.
"Elder Coleman, is there any surveillance camera in the kitchen?" Kyle's sudden question made the maid flinched. She was slightly startled and worry started to rose up inside her, but that immediately dissipated when she realizes that there is no camera in the kitchen. Her action last night won't be known by anyone, and even if there is a camera, they will have a hard time recognizing that it is her because she wore a hood that mostly covers her face, no one will know that it is her.
Hearing that question from Kyle, Marcus was left in his thoughts, trying to remember if there is a camera in the kitchen. Once he remembers, he spoke, "Yes. There is one, and it is hidden."
Except for Kyle, everyone in the room was surprised that there is actually a hidden camera in the kitchen. One question was plastered in their mind: why would Marcus Coleman put a hidden camera on the kitchen?
It's not like there is anything that is very valuable in the kitchen that he is scared that someone might steal it? Or Marcus is really that frantic that someone is going to harm Anna by using her allergy? They do not have any idea why Marcus puts a hidden camera in the kitchen, but they cannot believe it. 'Who puts a hidden camera in the kitchen?' They all commented inwardly.
"Shall we check who is the main culprit here?" Kyle suggested.
"Of course." Marcus likes that way Kyle is solving this very case that they are in. If Kyle had not asked him that question, then he will still have no idea about who did a scheme towards his granddaughter until he dies. At his old age, remembering things might be the most challenging yet in his life.
'I am really getting old now.'
Marcus turned on the screen of the television and then connect it to the recordings of the hidden cameras in the house; he chose the specific spot of the mansion, the kitchen. The recording from earlier and last night was played, and the workers were wide-eyed that there was someone from last night playing with the flour that Tess usually uses.
"Well, look at that." Kyle started with a cold smile on his face. "It is true that the head maid Tess works alone on making the snacks, but what I saw from the last footage is that someone tampered on the flour, and it's very obvious that head maid Tess did not tamper on it since the figure of that idiotic person looks young." As Kyle is saying this, he is looking straight towards the maid who is currently turning her hands into a fist.
