"I heard that brother-in-law came to visit, what was the visit all about?" Since Mary is busy running the company and keeping the greedy pigs at bay, she still has no idea about the missing jewel.
"Your husband will tell you about it once dinner is over," Marcus said nonchalantly. Currently, he and the family is having their dinner and right now, he doesn't want to discuss the missing jewel because it will only sour his mood.
"If you say so, father," Mary replied. After what happened yesterday, Mary doesn't know if she will be able to talk to Arion without feeling awkward in front of him. But she has to know James' reason for coming.
"Twins," Marcus called out the twins.
"Yes, grandfather?" The twins said at the same time.
"When will your school event starts?" From time to time, his grandson is telling him that Anna is participating in a pageant event, and he had become curious about it.
"Three days from now," Aaron started. "Why do you ask, grandfather?"
"I'm thinking of going to that event to see how my granddaughter walks the stage." When Anna heard that from her grandfather, she almost spit out the food in her mouth. She did not expect her grandfather to say that. She did not expect her grandfather to come at all!
In her past life, her grandfather has no interest in it at all, but now? He wants to come and see how she walks the stage? She knows that there has been a lot of changes in the timeline, however, she did not expect that one of those changes is her grandfather coming to see her perform her part in the school event.
Now she's feeling the pressure of making sure that she will impress her grandfather on that upcoming day.
Noticing that heavy breathing that Anna is making right now, Marcus couldn't help but chuckle at Anna's cute side. "Anna, you don't have to feel pressure about me being there. I'm just going to support my granddaughter." He said with a smile.
"Grandfather! That's the thing! I do feel the pressure of you coming and watch me perform. I mean I will love for you to come and watch me, but you the elder Master of our family! I can't make any mistake in front of you or else it will bring shame to our family!"
Her grandfather is well known to the public, and if she made a mistake on that day in front of him, people will talk and her grandfather will not like it. What happened to her past life, embarrassing her family name is something she doesn't want to happen ever again.
"Anna, it's true that I want our family name to be the talk of shame in the public, however, I do not wish for you to push yourself," Marcus said seriously. "It's okay to make a mistake. That is how you learn how to do things properly the next time."
As long as Marcus can see that his granddaughter is trying hard and still made a mistake, Marcus will let slide. However, if his granddaughter made a mistake and is not trying hard on what she is doing, then that is the time Marcus will get angry at her.
"Listen to your grandfather, Anna. What he said is right. As long as we can see that you are working hard, it's okay to make mistakes. No one is perfect after all." Arion said gently to his daughter. He can sense that after what his father just said, Anna is still feeling the pressure of making sure that she has to do well for her school event.
"These talks are not really making me feel not to be pressured," Anna said in a low but, but it is still heard by her family and she doesn't care if they heard it or not. Her grandfather should not have told her anything in the first place.
Now, she can't even eat her food properly. 'Damn it! Today's menu is my favorite, and I don't the appetite to finish it!' Anna felt like she wanna cry and she blames her grandfather for starting such a topic over their dinner.
"Look at what you have done, grandfather. You made my dear sister sad." Aaron said in an accusing tone. Truth to be told, Aaron is on the verge of laughing out loud. The expression his twin sister is making right now is too obvious.
"What? Don't accuse me like that, young man! Have some respect for me!" Unlike Aaron, Marcus can't understand the expression Anna is making. He thinks that Anna is being sulky that he and Arion are making her feel pressured. He has no idea that Anna is sulky that she cannot eat her favorite food.
"Grandfather, you started it! Look at the face she is making right now." Aaron said as he held his sister's face to make his grandfather see Anna's face clearly. "It's so sad. To the point that it is breaking my heart." Aaron added.
"T-that is not my fault!" Hearing Marcus defending himself Aaron is dying on the inside. As he thought, his grandfather really has no idea what is going on in his sister's mind. And he is having fun messing with his grandfather right now.
'Maybe I should do this every dinner?' Aaron said to himself.
"Aaron," Mary called out her son's name. "Stop messing with your grandfather. That is not so nice of you, young man."
"Wow. Look who's talking." Arion slightly scoffed at his wife's comment. "Children, when your mother was at the same age as yours, she does things like what you are doing right now, Aaron." Arion still remembered the stories that Zack told him years ago.
"Excuse me? You and I haven't met yet when I was at the same age as the twins." Mary said with a frown.
"So, you are admitting that you did?" After saying this, a playful smirk plastered on his face. Truthfully, he is not sure if what Zack told him is true, but after hearing what Mary just said, Arion is starting to believe that Zack is telling him the truth.
"No." Mary immediately replied with a straight face, however, she did not manage to fool Arion. Her husband knows her too much that she could not succeed in lying to him, face to face.
"Mary, you think you can fool me just like that?" Hearing that comment from her husband, Mary gritted her teeth. She is getting annoyed by how cheeky Arion is now.
"Grandfather, can we set a rule that no flirting is allowed whenever it's mealtime?" Anna's sudden question was heard in the whole dining room.
