While Marcus and Elijah are having their conversation, Lannie started to question Anna about what happened to Rebecca. "So…" She started. "What happened to that cat?" Lannie avoided mentioning Rebecca's name because it will only ruin her appetite. And she would not want that to happen because the food that is in front of her is the best dish she ever tasted so far.
It would be such a waste if she can't eat the food.
"What happened to her?" Slowly, a smirk started to appear on Anna's face. "She got kicked out of the school." Anna is happy that she will never see Rebecca's face again in Crystal High.
"Not only did her acting career fall into ruin, she even got kicked out of the school. Wow. There is no good tomorrow for her." There is not even a hint of pity in Lannie's words. It seems like she is enjoying whatever Rebecca is receiving right now.
"She deserves it anyways," Aaron commented. "People who dare to plot against my sister will definitely get what they deserve just like that good-for-nothing cat."
Kyle has no idea what really happened between Anna and Rebecca, but he can tell that whatever Rebecca has done, it was something that Anna can never forgive. And he does not want to know what Rebecca did to Anna because he is afraid that he might be able to control himself and go search for Rebecca, then punish her what she has done.
He wouldn't wanna ruin his time with Anna if he is just gonna go and search for that cat.
Glancing at her brother, Lannie spoke curiously. "You're not gonna asked what that cat did to Anna?" It's very unusual for her brother not to asked a question related to Anna. And because of that, this made Lannie curious about what her brother is thinking right now.
"Why would I ask about that? If you guys say that the cat is going to be punished, then there is nothing for me to ask." Kyle said nonchalantly. "I have no time asking about someone else when my attention should only focus on one person."
Kyle's comment made Anna's face blush so brightly, while Aaron and Lannie cringe in annoyance.
"Anna, what did grandfather just said the other day?" Aaron started. "He said that flirting is not allowed in this table. You, yourself, suggested that rule, remember?" Although it was Kyle who made that comment, Aaron thinks that his sister is also at fault for making him cringe.
"F-flirting? Nonsense, brother!" Kyle only made one comment and her brother thinks that it's flirting? Besides, why did her brother mentioned her name? It's not she's the one who made any moves towards Kyle. She is only focused on the food in front of her, and yet, this is what she gets from her brother.
"Lannie, do you also think I'm talking nonsense?" Since his sister said that he is talking nonsense, then he should prove her wrong by asking Lannie.
"Aaron, you're not talking nonsense. It's your sister being denial again." Although Lannie does not want to tease Anna when it's clearly her brother's fault, she just couldn't help herself when her brother is being such a show-off.
It is like her brother is saying to her that he is almost finished with the first step of his goal.
She is happy for her brother, but it is kind of annoying when her brother is like that.
"Denial? In what way am I denying at?" Anna knows that her brother and Lannie are only teasing her, but she just couldn't handle it because of the pressure they are making her feel. Added to the fact that Kyle's strong presence is making her feel so shy.
"Oh, you know what you are denying at," Lannie said with a smirk on her face.
"Lannie, that is enough," Kyle said in an authoritative tone. Although he likes the way Anna is blushing right now, he can't let his sister or Aaron tease Anna too much. If he let them, Anna might run away again.
"Yes. Listen to your brother, Lannie." Elijah's voiced is suddenly heard. It seems like his conversation with Marcus is now done.
"Father, let the kids have their own conversation." Sometimes, Stan doesn't like the way his father ruin fun moods, like what Lannie and the others are having right now.
"They can have their own conversation later, but right now, there is one thing that I want to talk about," Elijah said seriously.
"Like what, grandfather?" Kyle asked.
"Like what is going on between you and Anna." The connection that is happening between Anna and his grandson is one of the reasons why he agreed to come to this dinner that Marcus organized. He is starting to accept what happened to his sister and will he is willing to not involve the younger ones to his personal feelings about what happened in the past.
"Going on between them? What are you trying to say, Elder Robertson?" Arion asked. Somehow, he is getting a bad feeling about what Elijah is going to say.
Arion glanced at his father, and it seems like his father is expecting this conversation to happen. And just by seeing that calm expression on his father's face, Arion's bad feeling is getting stronger. He feels helpless because he thinks that there is nothing he can do about it.
"Since things are going well between them, why can't we all talk about joining both our families together?" Anna is somehow surprised by Elijah's statement. She didn't expect him to open up that kind of topic. Although she is happy that Elijah is willing to accept to join the Robertson family, she somehow felt nervous about it.
"That would be a nice idea." Marcus agreed to Elijah's suggestion. But before Marcus could even add one more comment, Kyle cut him off.
"Pardon me, but I think it's a bad idea."
With just one sentence, almost everyone in the table is glaring at Kyle especially Aaron and Arion. While they are glaring at Kyle, Anna, on the other hand, feels sad about that comment. It somehow pained her to hear that from Kyle.
"What do you mean by that? Are you not serious about my sister? Were you just playing with her?" Aaron asked in an angry tone. He is starting to accept Kyle, and yet, this is what Kyle is saying right now?
Right at this moment, Aaron has this urge to kill Kyle so that Elijah has one real reason to hate the Colemans.
"I'm not playing with her, and I am very serious," Kyle said in a serious tone. "What I meant is that, I don't like the idea of my grandfather setting up a marriage between me and Anna. I want things to happen in a natural way. I want Anna to agree to marry me willingly."
