In other words, what Kyle is trying to say is that he does not want anyone to plan things between him and Anna. He wants things to happen in the right way. Anna should not be forced to be with him just because that is what his grandfather and Anna's grandfather agreed to join their families together.
Arion is astonished at how well Kyle said those words. It showed him that Kyle is willing to do anything to make Anna willingly say yes to him.
These few words just reminded him of how he was willing to do anything just to get that sweet reply from Mary.
If he continues to be such a hindrance between his daughter and Kyle, it will make him look like a bad guy who is getting in the way of a very sincere man. 'It seems like I have to be less stubborn from now own.' Arion inwardly commented.
"I didn't expect to hear that from you, Kyle." Elijah is not going to deny that was not surprised by what Kyle just said. He actually thought that his grandson would be happy if he and Marcus set the wedding right away, but unexpectedly, it did not turn out the way he planned.
Glancing at Marcus, Elijah knew right away that Marcus is somehow expecting Kyle to make that kind of comment. Just by seeing Marcus' expression, Elijah is impressed that his grandson manages to impress Marcus so greatly.
"What can I say, he got that from me, Father," Stan said with a proud expression on his face. He is so proud to the point he wants to shout out to the world of how romantic his son is.
Just like Elijah, Stan is also not expecting that kind of comment from his son. His son is used to get things that he wants in just one word, but to think that his son is willing to work hard just to get that sweet word from Anna's mouth, is making Stan feel like a proud father.
"I don't think so, Son," Elijah said with a straight expression on his face. Elijah believes that Kyle's romanticism came from Kyle, himself, and it has nothing to do with Stan or Layla.
"Dad, I can agree with Grandfather with this case. I mean, in some ways, you are very romantic towards Mom, but it can't really compare to brother's tactic." Lannie said trying so hard to sugar coat her words so that she wouldn't hurt her Father's feelings.
With a slight pout on his face, Stan replied. "Why do I feel like you are not being sincere with your words, my daughter." Although he does not want to admit it, his son is better than him in this case. Now, he is starting to wonder how did his son learn all this stuff.
"Come on now, my dear husband, you get what you get." Instead of complaining, Layla thinks that it is better for her husband to be satisfied with the way things are now. Besides, even though her husband is not as romantic as her son, she is still happy and satisfied with what he is giving to her.
"Anna, are you sick? Your face looks so red or is it just me seeing things?" Lannie asked when she turns her attention towards Anna who has been silent that whole time. At this point, Lannie is not even surprised why Anna's face is like that.
Her brother sure knows how to make a critical hit on Anna just by using words.
"Lannie, do you really have to tease her?" Aaron asked. Teasing Anna is something that Aaron does once in a while, and this is one of those times that he wants to tease Anna, but looking at how red Anna is, he held himself back.
'She might faint if there are two people teasing her.'
Sometimes, Aaron could not understand why his sister is feeling embarrassed or shy whenever Kyle says words like that. It may sound very annoying in his ears, but from what he hears from other girls is that they feel happy when their man says something like that. So why is it that his sister feels that way instead?
"Sorry. I can't help it. She's just too cute." Whenever Anna is like that, Lannie finds it very cute and she could not help but tease Anna more. But she does it every time, her brother might scold her, so she tries to prevent herself from doing it most of the time.
"What? That does not make any sense at all, Lannie." Anna said with a frown on her face. Just because she looks cute that doesn't mean Lannie should tease her more. She is already trying to hard not make it obvious that she is greatly affected by what Kyle just said, but Lannie just made it worse.
"Oh, darling, it does make sense. Even my brother understands it." To almost everyone, they don't have any idea that Kyle tries very hard just to make Anna smile. And it almost looks very funny to Lannie's point of view, because of no matter what kind of words or action her brother does, most of the time he only gets Anna to blush brightly.
Unbeknown to everyone present, under the table Anna is squeezing tightly to Kyle's hand. She is practically telling Kyle that even though it is kind of embarrassing to hear those words from Kyle, she is still happy that he is letting her decide willingly. And this little gesture is only known by Kyle.
"Anyways," Marcus interrupted. "If you didn't like that idea, then you'll have to suffer from waiting for my granddaughter's sweet words that you want to hear." Everything is not set in stone just yet, but if Anna and Kyle end up together, it's going to be a long ride.
"Father, you don't have to say it like that. Besides, even if Kyle will have to wait for I don't know how long, everything will be worth it in the end." Mary said with a sweet smile on her face. She truly likes Kyle's answer. In just a few sentences, it really tells her that Kyle respects all of her daughter's opinion.
"Auntie, I sure do hope that you'll support me until this long wait ends." Kyle is still on a mission to get all the support that he needs. One of those supports is Anna's family, and her family is a hard one to deal with.
"Child, you do what you have to do. I will support you, and you don't have to worry about these mutton heads, okay? I will handle them myself." And by that, Mary means that Kyle should not worry about Aaron and Arion because she will not let them get in the way.
