"So kind of a person is she?" With the current condition of Nathalia's grandmother, Aaron then realized that opening this kind of topic to Nathalia might a bad idea. "You know what? You don't have to tell me. It's not the best time for you to share your stories about her."
As much as he wants to satisfy his curiosity, he is going to hold himself back just for Nathalia. At the very least he is not dense when it comes to this kind of situation.
"I know that you are concerned about me, but I don't mind sharing my story with you. I think it might be good for me to at least let someone else know how close I am to my grandmother." Now that she is saying this, Nathalia realized that she never once shared a story about her grandmother to either Zen or Josh. This is the first time she is willing to share a story of her grandmother to someone outside of her family.
After hearing that, Aaron felt that he is special. He doesn't know why, but it is such a good feeling and he would like to stay like this for a little while.
"Well, if you say so, then I'm all ears." Since Nathalia is already giving him permission to listen to her story, then Aaron might as well take advantage of it.
~~~
While Nathalia is sharing her story, there were two figures standing at the door watching them both. One person is feeling unease at the sight he saw while the other person is happy seeing such a harmonious side of Nathalia and Aaron.
"What's with that expression, Leo?"
"I don't know. For some reason, Aaron is giving me this bad feeling." Leonardo said with honesty. The person next to him is not even that surprising to hear him say that. "Crona, are you sure that we should leave them like this? Aren't they a bit too close to each other?" He asked his wife.
If the person was either Josh or Zen, Leonardo might not mind the closeness between them, but unfortunately, it's not either Josh or Zen, it is Aaron who is sitting way too close towards his daughter.
Leonardo is about to take a step forward to at least keep a safe distance between the two, Crona stopped him. "Leonardo Vendallin, what do you think you are about to do now?"
"I need to settle them in a safe distance from each other, Crona." He said.
"Safer distance? Leo, you're being way too paranoid, let the kids have their fun. I'm sure that they know what are the limits of interacting with each other. Besides! Aaron Coleman is not even that kind of a person." Since Aaron is one popular model in her modeling agency, Crona has been paying attention to Aaron.
Aaron has been paired up with so many beauties on one of his photoshoots, but nothing happened. He never touched any parts of their body or even get near them unless he told by the photographer.
For Aaron to act like that in front of his daughter is enough to convince Crona that he is serious. And as a person sees this kind of young love is also enough to make her feel excited about what is going to happen next.
"I know that brat is not that type of person, but if this keeps going on, our daughter might fall for him. Aaron is like his mother and father, clueless of someone who is attracted to him. I don't want our daughter to be in that kind of situation." Leonardo was always the witness between Arion and Mary, he saw things developed between them.
It was Arion who was attracted to Mary, and Mary was blind to even noticed it. As days passed on, Mary started to develop feelings for Arion, but Arion is also blind to see it. It was frustrating to watch them. They both are blind to such an obvious thing. Leonardo is afraid that it might be the same case for Aaron.
'Such irony, my dear husband!' Crona inwardly said. She can't believe she just heard that from her husband. He's saying that, but that also describes him.
Is he also blind? Can't he see that Aaron and Nathalia have mutual feelings? Or is he pretending that he doesn't notice it? If he is, then the reason for him to act like this is that he refuses to have his only child to be with another guy. He is not ready yet.
"Your daughter is not a little kid anymore, let her make her own choices! If she gets a heartbreak, then let her deal with it. That way she will learn how to handle her next relationship." This conversation that they are having now is not putting a smile on Crona's face. This kind of talk does not suit her husband, but if she doesn't talk about this with him, he will continue this act of his.
If he does continue this, then there is a chance that their daughter might distance herself from them.
They should not go and be so strict to their child because there is a chance that Nathalia might go on a rebellious phase and that is more troublesome than this 'problem.'
"But... but..." His wife is right, but it doesn't feel right to him. Is he just gonna let his daughter go on a journey where she could be hurt emotionally?
"Leo, I know, I know. But if you really insist, the only thing you can is to advise her and other than that you cannot do any other things." In Crona's point of view, Leonardo is going to snatch the chance for Nathalia to fully experience her youth. As early as it is, she needs to make things clear for Leonardo.
Seeing how serious his wife is, Leonardo has no other choice but to listen to her. However, something bad happens to his daughter, he cannot promise that he will only stay silent.
"Mom... Dad... are you two fighting or something?"
Both husband and wife were startled when they suddenly heard Nathalia's voice.
Since Crona is not sure since when Nathalia was standing near them and what did she heard from their conversation, so she decided to play it safe. "No. Your father and I are not fighting, there are just some things that we were discussing business and might have caused our voices to be spoken so loudly."
What her mother just said made sense for her. Whenever her parents talk about business matters, they sometimes talk loudly because they couldn't agree on what they are trying to say. If that is the case, then there is nothing for Nathalia to worry about.
"Nathalia, since when you were standing there?" Leonardo asked.
"Since the part when Mom said that you can only advise her and other than that you cannot do other things. Though I don't know who's 'her.' are you mentoring someone, Dad?"
Leonardo was relieved that that is the only part Nathalia heard from his conversation with his wife. And it took him only a second to respond to her question, "Yes. I am about to mentor someone. And I am sure that you and Aaron know her well."
"We know her?" Aaron tilted his head in confusion. The only 'her' that Aaron knows, except for his sister and mother, is Nathalia. So he clearly has no idea who Leonardo is talking about.
"Your sister." Truthfully, that was a lie. But he can't think of another excuse to say. Though, he did get a feeling that he will be mentoring Anna and Aaron sooner or later because he talked about it with Mary not too long ago.
"My sister? I have no idea that she is going to be mentored by you." Although it is Leonardo who said that, Aaron has this feeling that Leonardo is lying to them. But then again, it is hard to tell what is going on in Leonardo's mind.
"Your sister has no clue about it just yet. When she comes back, you and she will be mentored by me." Now that he is saying this, Leonardo thinks that it is about time for him to train the twins. After all, they are the future of the organization.
"Wow. You people have no conscience at all." Aaron didn't hesitate on saying that loud and clear in front of Leonardo.
With his one brow rose up, Leonardo said, "What's that supposed to mean?"
"My sister and I are already under training with Aunt Martha, our father, and now you? This is torture." He knows that what they are doing is for their sake, but it is just too much, he and his sister can't juggle too many things all at once. They are not superhumans, after all.
"Isn't this what you and your sister wanted? Challenging yourselves and proving that you both are worthy to lead the organization in the future? If you can't even handle the training that is given to the both of you, then please, be my guest and give up." Leonardo said firmly.
