Chapter 509 - Revenge 510: Deeper Investigation

"What did you just say?!"

"Master, the mafia family we had an alliance with is gone. Someone has taken them down, even the police have no idea who is responsible for killing all those people." The butler who was in charge of making sure that the alliance between two mafia families intact is now reporting to his master that the existence of the alliance is no more.

"Nobody survived?" Ask the other person in the room.

"Only one, the head of that mafia family." Truthfully speaking, the butler doesn't like this person who is with his master most of the time. Although he knew that his master's intention with this person is to use him, there is this feeling that he can't erase.

"They let him leave and kill everyone else? That's a surprise. Normally, if your gonna take down a mafia family, the head of that family should be killed too, right?"

The butler mocked this person's remark. It's obvious why they let the head of the family live. It is to send a message. He can't believe that such a simple thing can't be immediately recognized by this person.

The butler wants to express his thoughts, but he can't. His master wouldn't like it.

"In some cases, yes, killing the leader is the best way to take down a certain organization. But in this matter, the person or people who are responsible are sending a message to us or to someone else." The butler slowly explained, but this guy's expression seems like he is still confused.

'How is it that you're still alive in this world if you're that stupid?' The butler inwardly said.

"A message? What kind of message?"

The butler is about to say a word, but his master interrupter him. "Seriously, James? Are that f.u.c.k.i.n.g stupid? Those people are practically saying that they are coming for us, that includes you, you moron!"

James Coleman is a highly educated guy, and yet in this matter, he is way too stupid and annoying. Every time that James opens his mouth about something stupid, it gets him annoyed. Now he is starting to question why did he even invite James to associate with him in the first place.

Startled by the man in front of him, James wasn't able to say a word back. It's the first time that someone told him that he is stupid face to face.

This is the first time that he is associating himself with the head of a mafia family, how should he know about how they do things. Sure, he manages to associate himself with people like the man named Johan, but this matter and that matter is different.

"I-I'm sorry. I'm new to all this, I-"

The man in front of him fiercely glared at him. He wasn't able to finish his sentence. "Whether you are new or not, that kind of thing should have been easy for you to know."

Seeing that his master is about to lose his control, the butler stepped in and said, "Master, I think it's best for you to calm down first. Should I prepare your tea?"

With his master losing his control, his master won't able to know how to fix the problem they have now. It's a good thing that he knows how to calm his master.

"Yes, and bring it to my office. I'm going to calm myself there!" After saying that he stood up and left the room. He can't stand being in the same room with James at the moment. He's afraid that one more word from James' mouth, he might actually kill the guy.

'James still has some use, I'll kill him after he has done his job.'

The butler stared at James and said, "You know, if you don't know anything at all, I suggest for you to shut your mouth and just listen to my master." Soon after, the butler left the room. He doesn't even feel bad for saying that to James. In fact, he thinks that James deserves it.

James thinks of himself too high and this kind of treatment is new to him. Although it is new, the feeling of it is not what he wanted. He wanted to be respected, but it seems like both the butler and the man he is associating him is looking down at him way too much.

"Just bear with it until the end, James. Once this is all over you'll pay them back with the same treatment." James muttered to himself.

"Master, here is your tea." The moment the butler entered his master's office, he smelled the tobacco right off the bat. Without a word, the butler settles his master's tea at the table, then went and opened the windows.

"Butler, you have your suspicion about James, don't you?" After he inhaled his tobacco, his mind immediately calmed down. He was deep in thought before his butler came. And the first thing that came into his mind is James.

"I do, Master Francis. But I dare not share my thoughts, I'm afraid that it will only cause trouble for you."

Francis sips his tea, then he looks straight at his butler's eyes. His butler has been working for him for almost a decade now, and from the first time they met until now, his butler's cold and distant eye is still the same.

"Do share your thoughts. I want to hear it." His butler is keen on everything and is very capable. If his butler says that there is something suspicious about James Coleman, then he would like to hear it and makes his next course of action.

"Well then, Master Francis, I do respect at every decision that you make, however, I don't agree with you for not doing a deeper investigation about the day James went off the grid." His master made an investigation, but the information that they were insufficient. With the little information about James' one-day disappearance, he is somewhat not satisfied and since then he has been suspicious about James.

"You think that James has something to with happened to our alliance with that mafia family?" 

"Yes. I do think so, Master Francis."

"Well then, do a deeper investigation and when you find something immediately tell me, don't just go and confront James right off the bat. If he really does have something to do with this, then we can't let him what we found out."

The only group of people that Francis can think of who can manage to do such a massacre with his fellow mafia family is the organization that the Coleman family handles. Mary and Arion Coleman, including their friends, are capable to be that brutal. And the message is one of Mary's signature.

A part of him is convinced that they are the ones who did it, but there is also a part of him that doesn't want to come up with that conclusion. He has a lot of enemies lurking around, it could be any one of them.

Besides, in the back of his mind, the Coleman family doesn't even know that he is into them yet. Not unless James said a word about his plan to destroy them. 'I will you with my bare hands if you really did betray me, James Coleman.'

"As you wish, Master." As soon as the butler said that, he immediately left Francis' office.

"Francis Glore... what did the organization ever do to him again?" Zack kept on reading Francis' background check, but he can't find anything that says why he's angry at the organization and at the Coleman family.

"It might be because Marcus' grandfather made an utter humiliation of his family. Though if I'm on the other end of the stick, I would probably get angry too." Alfonso somewhat understands why Francis is angry at the Coleman family, but he doesn't feel sorry for the guy. Instead, he feels disappointed.

It has been more than a decade and the guy is still stuck in what happened in the past. 'He wasn't even alive at that time, why is he even that angry as if he's the one who's been hurt.'

"What? Is he trying to get back his family's former glory, is that it?" Zack scoffed. No matter who is their enemy it's always about revenge. And most of their enemies, they are the ones who started the fight. He is sick and tired of hearing their reasons when they are the ones at fault.

"There is nothing we can do about it. If that's what they want, then we'll just have to make sure that they won't do it again in the future." It is always such a pain to deal with those kinds of people, but then again, they are the one who always gives him and his friends the excitement that they sometimes needed.

"Yeah, right." Zack puts down the papers in his hands and continued, "So, what else should I need to know about this guy?"
