"So, what else should I need to know about this guy?"
"Nothing much, really. Other than this person is the one who's responsible for the death of Marcus' brother, so far there is nothing for us to be wary of him." It's only a guess, but Alfonso has this feeling that there is more to Francis.
How can a guy like him easily make a member of the Robertson and Coleman family follow what he says without a fight?
'He has to be hiding something, right?'
"There is though." Mary's voice was heard. Zack and Alfonso turned around to see, and they are quite surprised to see the person next to her. "I will introduce this man when everyone is here."
After a short while of waiting, the top members of the organization finally arrived. Among them is the retired people from the organization. With these people around, it somehow makes everyone feels like this is going to be a serious meeting.
Sitting on the right side of Alfonso is Leonardo. As usual, Leonardo is wearing his cold demeanor. Alfonso is not even sure if Leonardo is in a good mood or in a bad mood.
Either way, he still said a word to him, "Looks who's here, Leo. It's your father."
Whenever he Leonardo and Nathaniel in the same room, he still gets goosebumps that both father and son are so alike and yet both of them are unconcerned about one another. It is already well known that both of them are not in a good relationship, but when they work together, it doesn't seem that way.
"What of it?" Leonardo asked. He clearly has no interest if his father is in the same room as him. It's like he is treating his father like air.
"I don't know, maybe you want to sit next to him and spend some father and son quality time together?" Alfonso playfully suggested. Sometimes, he asks himself why does he like to hit his friends' sensitive spot. Every time he does that, he always gets himself in trouble. He knows that and yet, he always does it
"Do I look like someone who would want to spend time with him?" The only connection Leonardo has with his father is their last names and nothing else. If anyone would ask him, he prefers the relationship that they have now, it's way too late for his father to act as a parent as he supposed to in the past.
"Harsh. But oh well, I tried." Alfonso shrugged then paid attention to what Mary is about to say.
"To some of you, you already know who this person beside me is. But there are also some of you who have no idea who he is, and I can't blame you for that." It was only three days ago that Mary got to know the person beside her. And honestly speaking, she feels ashamed that she only got to know him recently.
This man beside her is one of the few people who made the Coleman family's organization flew on the top of the ranking. Such a person, Mary can't believe that she never heard of him before.
"What does this man have to do with anything that's currently going on?" Leonardo asked. He is curious as to why Mary is acting so respectfully towards the person next to her. As far as he knows, there are only a few people she respects, and he doesn't recognize that man to one of those few people.
Nathaniel frowned at the way his son is looking at his former colleague. "Leonardo, I advise you to respect him. You are in no position to act so arrogantly in front of that man."
Leonardo scoffed when he heard that. At every little thing that he does, this man, who is connected to him by blood, always has something to say to him. Criticizing everything that he says and does, even raising his own daughter, this man has the audacity to say such words.
"You're mistaken, Father. I am not acting arrogantly. It's only natural that I ask such a question when I don't have any idea what is his connection with the organization's current problem." Everyone can notice that the tone in Leonardo's voice indicated that he is annoyed by his father. "Before you make a remark about me, you should carefully analyze why I asked such a question and also don't assume that I'm acting arrogantly, because I am not."
"The drama is about to begin, Alfonso!" Zack whispered to Alfonso. In times like this, Zack and Alfonso always find time to act playfully.
"I know. This is going to be exciting!" Alfonso whispered back.
Mary noticed what Alfonso and Zack are doing, and she could only shake her head. Those friends of hers always act childishly when they are not supposed to.
"You're not? Then what's with the use of tone? The ways you speak tells me otherwise." Nathaniel knew that his relationship with his son is not good, and despite that, he always thinks of what is best for him.
Right now, he is thinking of that. He is telling his son to act respectfully towards his former colleague because his son needs a good connection with other people. And this former colleague of his is one of those people.
If his son is in trouble, this former colleague of his can be a tremendous help. He just doesn't understand why his son can't see that he is building a good relationship for him with other people.
"Must you really comment on everything that I say?"
Seeing that things are escalating at a fast pace, Mary interrupted them, "Okay. That's enough, you two. Clearly, you two have problems with each other, but this is not the place for you two to act like this. It's making everyone feel uncomfortable, especially me."
The purpose of this sudden meeting is to talk about Francis Glore, and not listen to the between father and son. Right now, she is Mary Coleman one of the leaders of their organization, and her time should not be wasted by her friend's dilemma with his father.
Harsh, but it is the truth.
The only time she will listen to anything her friend has to say is when she is not acting as one of the organization's leaders.
"Now, back to our from earlier, this man over here is the one who invented a special type of drug and a mini-microchip that controls a person's brain, his name is Greg Lopez."
"Wait a minute. You're that this guy invented such a thing, but how come I've never heard of it?" Mike asked. If this man was once a part of the organization, it would have been easy for him to know about the things that he made.
"It's top-secret information, no one is supposed to know about it until it is perfect..." Greg said, but his face doesn't show that he is proud of the project he started.
"But...?" From what Mike is understanding, Greg started that project when he was still an active member of the organization, and it has been years since then. Shouldn't the project be finished by now since he is already retired?
The information about it should have at least be revealed to him. Not unless, Greg gave on that project, but then again, Mary said that he is the one who invented. The guesses if the project was finished or not is bothering Mike like crazy.
"The project was concluded perfect, more than perfect if I must say, but something happened. One day the place that I was working on caught in a fire, and every information that I gather to make the drug and the mini-microchip were burned and nothing left."
After everything was caught in the fire and nothing was left, Greg gave up on the idea of starting over again from zero. So left everything as it is.
"After listening to everything that Mary said to me the other day, I believed that someone has full information about the drug and the mini-microchip. I was careless, I didn't think someone stole my ideas."
Although there is no proof if that is really the case, Greg believes that is the case. The details that Mary gave to him is enough to convince him.
He wants to know who stole his ideas and punish them. He hopes that the person who stole his idea is still alive and well because he wants to be the one making that person suffer. No steals from him and gets away freely.
"Do these inventions have something to do with the death of my brother, Mary?" Just by basing on Marcus' tone, everyone can tell that he's angry.
"I believe so, Father."
"How old is this Francis Glore?"
"He's about the same age as you." Mary calmly answered every question Marcus has, and her answers are adding more fuel to his burning anger.
